Sometimes when I get numbers the girl replies with one word replies through text. This also happens on tinder.

Me: Hey what you been up to, busy weekend
her: work
Me: how was work
her: lame
Me: Thinking of going to the mall and grabbing something to eat, you work today?
Her: yea

Its hard for me to ramble through text. I take it as though they're not interested in me so I usually stop replying. In real life I can at least just talk and talk but over text its as though I'm talking to a brick wall.

This is probably my biggest weakness so far. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm interested to hear perspectives on this also.

I think everyone experiences this abrupt/nonchalant type of response from time to time.

Personally, I treat it as disinterest also (and at the very least, rude and fucking annoying), since effectively there are no questions being asked by her... but I don't think it's as clear cut as that.

It could be the girl running aloof type game on you, and a shit test of sorts.

It could be that she is preoccupied with something else at the time of replying, which is highly probable.

I had a similar interaction with a girl last week (however, she did at least ask some questions, albeit trivial crap), and instead of dropping all contact, I just hit her up and asked if she wanted to hang out. This was met with lame excuses, i.e. "too far", "can't afford it"...however, she didn't say no. Out of the blue, she mentions that she "drinks too much" - so immediately, there's a subject I know she's interested in, and can be assured that she's probably an easy lay...hence the overt aloofness.

I pressed further for a hang out, and even suggested I come over to her place and bring a nice bottle of whatever over. This was met with radio silence...then, the night that I suggested to hang out, she texts me and tells me she's free if I want to do something, so obviously she's keen.

As much as I wanted to meet up with her that night, I told her I'd made plans since I didn't hear from her during the week. This may backfire on me, but I think it's better to counter her aloof game with some aloofness of my own, a push-pull tactic if you will. I'll see how it pans out over the next week.

So, if you can somehow gain some insight into an area of interest of hers (i.e. shit that gets her emotions going), exploit that as much as possible.

Honestly I've always just blown off girls who one word me.. but reading Windom^ is making me think it's chick game too. I know a buddy used to refuse to answer one words, that worked for him, but seems to me like they just play you off as ignoring them. I'm dying for some opinions on this one too..

If she only talks like this with one word replies it generally isn't a good sign.

Try to pick out if she starts conversations with you and asks you questions beyond being polite conversation.

If she doesn't initiate texts, she isn't interested in you.

1 word replies are generally bad, but not necessarily. Some people just don't like texting much.

"Me: Thinking of going to the mall and grabbing something to eat, you work today?"

Seems like you're beating around the bush. Would be better to be more direct, like "I'm going to the mall later to eat. Want to meet me there at 4pm?" She'll either say yes or no. Probably no since she's giving 1 word answers, but you'll have a finite answer and you won't have to wonder.

Again I gotta say text game should only be used when you have already established face to face attraction. Every tight player I've met have told me the same, and it's also my experience. It's lame trying to "build" attraction over text, you can only rebuild it.

In your example OP, you are indeed beating around the bush too much. The reason we escalate is to save time and to screen out girls who aren't DTF.

Me: Hey what you been up to?
Her: work
Me: boring. Let's grab a bite. When you done? (or 6PM works?)
Her: k
Me: c ya.

Or: Her: Not today
Me: gay

This is how I get most of my first dates and avoid wasting time with girls who aint DTF.

Yes, this is textbook and I bet in face-to-face this would be killer. Though I'm seriously skeptical about its value over text. It will not come off with the asshole tone and attitude and voice and body language that would make it work in real life. I imagine she would just smirk at it "nice try" then ditch your number. If you have to do something witty to create attraction it's just much better to do it f to f.

Then again, this is better than nothing. If you have no chance to see the girl again, text away. Whatcha got to lose?

Yeah, I agree with Dalaran's suggestions. There are a few reasons this girl could be one-wording you.

1. She doesn't like texting -- this isn't a bad thing. On Tinder, always try to get the number. If she's a non-texter, scheduling something will be easy with someone who prefers interpersonal conversation.

2. She's not interesting. Honestly, despite the fact that banging a hot girl regardless of her personality is great, I dislike boring people and would opt not to converse with them, especially if this is a Tinder conversation.

However, if this is a chick you met in person, whose number you scored, she better be cute and intriguing, worth it to you for you to even consider conversing with her in the first place. If she's not worth your time and your effort, why put up with her? Therefore, if you meet a girl in person and you get responses like these over text she either doesn't like texting, isn't interesting -- or the opposite -- you're not interesting her. And of course, there's a good chance:

3. She's just rude. If this is the case, screw her. Not worth it. Especially if she's on Tinder...fuck bitchiness.

In terms of Tinder game, as you mentioned, there is still a decent chance you can score her number. I've talked with girls over the app who come off as bitchy with the one-word responses, but they're happy to give out a number. But, although it's judgmental of me, if I don't catch a somewhat interesting vibe via texting, I'm not putting in the effort to make up for her lack of it.

Oh nice! I actually haven't thought about that. I get frustrated with one word response as well and usually I just give up...

For shits and giggles I will sometimes text them back on tinder with "You must have been one of the slow kids in school, weren't you?"

Generally speaking one word replies mean girl isn't into you. You will have hard time building attraction but this is still possible. I was in this situation recently. Girl was giving one word replies. I tried humor. Nothing. I changed subject. Nothing. I changed subject again. Nothing. I changed subject one more time. Voila! She started to chat and after much more texting she invited me to her place for sex.

Every time I see posts on questions about gaming specific girls I think the same thing, the same I think for myself in these situations:

Simple answer: She's not interested. Some of the techniques above might work, but not often, and you have to be good at it. Next her.

Longer answer: You would like to bang her, and I'm all for that. But in the larger scope of your life, you need to improve your life. It's all about you. When a girl I'm interested in (ie attractiveness on the upper end of my potential) does this, I remind myself why she's giving me one word responses. I am not high enough value to her. Maybe I need to improve my finances, my game, my physical fitness, my inner confidence. Or maybe all of those things are doing great (yeah right, you're a 1% er if that's the case), and we just don't click, in which case it shouldn't be tough to move on to the next girl. Maybe she's simply having a bad day, though I suspect if she were into you you'd probably brighten her day with your text.

The point is, your mindset after approaching, after gaming...your debriefing, should be to quickly note - don't dwell - on what could have been improved to put your best self out there (more regarding face to face side with less focus on text), then go back to improving your life --> approaching women, improve career, things mentioned above, etc.
