Direct game works well if you have good passive game. If you are handsome, famous, high status, etc. you will get good mileage out of direct game.

Like the OP, I enjoy direct game more because of the empowering feeling I get when I do it. When you do a direct approach, you assume that you are the high value man, the guy girls want to fuck. I approach with the frame "you're hot, I'm hot, let's hook up". It's a good exercise in building confidence.

That being said, as Gio mentioned, there is no "one size fits all" way to do things. Whereas direct game may spook a more conservative girl, it might work well on the slut with ADD. It's best to adapt to your target, and this comes with experience.
