Will be staying in Manila for a few weeks next month. Do any of you have any recommendations for apartments (I'm not that fussy, just don't want to be in a shit area) and a decent gym with free weights?

Have checked out AirBnB and hotel sites but accommodation is much more expensive than I expected...

Send out a message to all the AirBnB places that you like and let them know what you're willing to pay and for how long. Many will negotiate, don't think the prices are set in stone.

As far as apartment recommendations/locations, you should read this entire thread specifically, and perhaps a couple of others. Housing in Manila has been discussed in magnifying-glass detail, there's tons of information here on specific neighborhoods, specific prices, nightlife, gyms, and logistics issues, in sum, the pros/cons of each section of the city. As far as Manila, all of this has been discussed previously in the threads, in great detail, check it out!

A) there are a lot more hotter girls in MNL. Not surprisingly as it's a huge metropolis.
B) they have been way more open and friendlier to me than hotties of the same level elsewhere in the country.

Right now I'm talking to a certified 9 From MNL (not just by Phil's standards but international standards), who has a good and stable high paying career. She's by far the hottest and sweetest Pinay I've seen and chatted with online. She's so fine and so sweet that I'm toying with the idea of locking her down as my main girl when I get there this fall.

To be honest, and after chatting with so many girls online from the Phil's, I noticed that I enjoy much more chatting and talking with MNL girls than provincial ones. I get tired if them very easy and very fast as my ideal type if girl is a sweet, feminine and smart and brainy and MNL has the highest concentration of them.

I want to spend some time in MNL this fall as this where the highest concentration of hotties are. Plus from there it's easy to hop on a flight to pretty much anywhere.

Vacancier Permanent is spot on, and I'll add to the subject.

1. The general quality of English is higher in Manila than in the provinces. This is a huge plus when interacting with everyone, but especially when interacting with young women.

2. Women in manila are more beautiful, on average, than women in the provinces, and are known to be so, even amongst Filipinos.

3. Women in Manila, on average, wear newer/nicer/better looking clothes than women in the provinces.

4. Manila also has more of the TOP talent. There are some world class beauties in Manila. In the provinces, there's some beauties, but TOP talent, the kind of woman that makes jaws drop when you walk in the room with her, is very uncommon, if not almost nonexistent.

Why?

The main reason is economic.

Filipinos in Manila, both men and women, are noticeably taller and more robust (in a good way) than the folks in the provinces. Manila has higher incomes than the provinces, which means a higher standard of living overall, and better nutrition specifically, which translates to taller, healthier, hotter girls that dress better and look better.

Now, don't get me wrong, people in Manila, on average, are still very poor compared to average Americans, but they are still better off, on average, than folks from the provinces.

Manila is also an economic draw to enterprising, upwardly mobile Filipinos from the provinces, be they aspiring businessmen or aspiring models.

As a side note, Manila has many folks with Chinese and Spanish ancestors somewhere in the past, so the mestizo population is larger, both in absolute and relative terms, than in the provinces. So if you prefer the more Mestizo look, Manila has more of that. That said, even in Manila, the population looks primarily what you would think of as "Filipino." The visible mestizos are still the minority, as is the case in the rest of the country.

Need some intel on Boracay accommodation doods. Seems like there are a myriad of worthy options.

Where's the best place to base yourself out of - Station 1, Station 2 or Station 3? Obviously, I want to be where the party's at.

Budget will be up to $150 per night.

By the way, I'll be heading there late Oct, end of low season.

Station 2 on white beach.

Don't expect a crazy part scene, I was there in April and it was busy each night but not many girls out. Most local girls are working girls and the Korean tourists rarely go out at night.

I agree with pretty much everything you said, but some things I didn't like about manila are that your value is the lowest naturally for being a foreigner and they have more Western, masculine personalities

Sweet is a word I would use for chicks in Davao and the provinces, but it has nothing to do with the Manila girls. This quality allowed me to overlook the annoying personality inherent in most Filipinas.
Also obesity is more prevalent in Manila.

This is some great info guys! So Manila girls are bitchier or what? Which kind of behaviour is annoying?

I have a real soft spot for sweet girls so I might check out the provinces to compare.

Hell yea welcome back chochemonger1! I met this guy in Davao and he gave me the low down and sent me in the right direction there. This guy knows his shit.

As an example, in Davao, I made a date with this nurse on Filipino Cupid, but got sick with a fever that day. I tried to cancel but she insisted on coming to see me at my apartment(brought food and medicine) and took care of me for 2 days.
In Manila a lot of girls kept on insisting for me to pay their cabs from way across town in order to meet. Night and day difference!

I wish, I'm back in the states. Had to get my business here squared away. I should be headed to Peru next month tho and then bounce around SA until Feb/Mar of next year then head back to Asia.

This is off topic of whats being talked about now.
I found out last week, when I was in the hospital, that if you have a ACR-I card you can sign up for the government health insurance program (PhiliHealth). The cost for a single person (foreigner) ranges from 1000-5000 pesos a year. It pays for almost everything except medicine cost.
This is in addition to what has been already said before about the advantages of a ACR-I card. The ACR-I card also lets you open a bank account, obtain a drivers license, plus many other things Ill find out as time goes on.

I made a search on Mactan island outside Cebu but couldn't find much info. Would you miss out if you only stay on the island? What are the clubs like there?

In Cebu, can you find quality Western food and if so how expensive is it?

Read through the Cebu threads. You will find your answer there. I know, because I just read through a few of them over the past few days. From my notes:

Quote:I ate in Mooon Cafe (yes that is the right spelling) in I.T. Park last night. Rack of mexican baby back ribs, fries and salad for less than $4 and washed it down with a $1 beer. That place and the surrounding infrastructure is first world too, unlike most of cebu. Feels like you are in Miami (except that you can't get baby back ribs in Miami for $3.80). It's unreal how good and cheap the food is here if you know where to go. [Cebu City Thread, Post #4]

I am not sure why everyone is so down on Filipino food. I just finished reading through all the major Philippines threads. It made me crave Filipino food, so I visited Yelp and tracked down the nearest Filipino restaurant.

Earlier this week, I had three lumpia with sweet sauce on the side, chicken adobo, another sweet chicken dish, and a side order of pancit. For less than eight bucks, I had enough food for two meals. It was great. This was Filipino food in the U.S.

I went back yesterday. I had a large container of lechon (deep fried pork with crispy skin) and sauce, with a side order of pancit and three lumpia. Great stuff. I could barely finish the meal.

Don't get me wrong. You certainly don't want to eat like that for three meals a day, because of the absence of vegetables. But there is nothing wrong with having an authentic Filipino meal once a day. Then have Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, or Indian food for your other meals.

Its about 170 pesos ($4) from the airport on mactan island to mango square, so you can do both if you wanted. I asked some of the locals and they said rather stick to mango square & I.T. park.

I dont see why you would want to stay on mactcan, the traffic can get really bad there as well because of the Airport + bridge thing. There's a heap of western restaurants near the Ayala terrace.

Some LadyBoys choose to be enlisted as males, some as females, and this is OK with us. We have no plan of introducing a "third gender" for LadyBoys. If you do not think our policy is acceptable, this site is not for you. Sorry.

I guess the webmaster is into trannys.

Mactan is swimming with koreans on holiday and the beach clubs near the resorts on the east side of the island could very well be the easiest place in the world to get a korean flag.

That seems to be the crux of the complaints that the website does NOT want to change to the service that it is offering.

It seems that all that a lot of guys want clear and unambiguous disclosure regarding whether the person is holding themselves out to be a man, woman or ladyboy. Then accordingly the men users of the site could screen for ONLY women (real women), but maybe, from the website's point of view, that causing of additional options would just complicate matters by causing more complaints from guys if a ladyboy advertises as a woman and in reality is a ladyboy?

screening for LB:
1) height
2)under "wants kids" puts no or undecided.
3) it's kind of obvious 96% of time once you've scanned 2000 posts heheh

It's a free site, so I don't feel I have any right to control the owner's prefs.

Are fake tits a giveaway or do real and rich girls in the Philippines have breast enlargements?

If you meet someone and want to make a field test, this might be a test to do although not all men and women conform to this.

"On average, women's index and ring fingers are almost equal in length because they are exposed to less testosterone. In men, the ring finger tends to be longer because they have higher testosterone levels. In general, women exposed to more testosterone have more 'masculine hands' – ie longer ring fingers."

Strange subject. It reminds me about pandas that aren't really pandas if you look closer. Same kind of buyer's remorse I guess if you find out that you got a tranny home as if you bring a panda home and find out that it's actually a dog.
