So I got my other phone unlocked at the mall and now have a local number, but unfortunately tinder is not working- I can't swipe even when I'm connected to wireless. Been going on for a day. Sucks. I might have to pay for FC.
I don't totally have the hang of the pre-paid card thing yet, so I'll have to roll back to the mall soon to get that sorted.
Did a little daygaming earlier at the mall, got a number off a cute very skinny chick.
I can send viber and whatsapp messages, but regular texts (like the one I got from the girl at the mall) stopped working after I made a phone call.
So I'm operating solely off my pipeline prospects.

Tinder didn't work well for me on the 3G/LTE networks in the Phils and it seemed like it was blocked at the IP level (maybe too much bot activity there?). Usually worked fine on WiFi though.

If you have a laptop you can install memu Android emulator and use tinder that way, that's what I do. I was constantly having issues with my phone that was unlocked for 500php at Greenbelt mall. I just bought a Motorola G5 which comes globally unlocked, should make life easier, fuck all that carrier locked noise.

Yes I agree that this will work for 6s and maybe 7s.

For an 8 or 9? I feel like I need to take it to another level for this type of girl. They need to see some passion about why you are here, and to convince them that you really want to be here. I can't come up with anything compelling at the moment...

Edit: Before someone says there are not any 9s in Manila, it's totally subjective. If an 8 is the highest here assume an 8 lol

Saying you live in Manila and have a job, and are probably upper class is enough reason to be in Manila and satisfy a girls curiosity. I mean what else are you going to tell a 10/10, that' you're secretly a rock star? You could make up some shit like you went to Manila to make films or learn specific gourmet cooking or plug in what ever hobby, but I don't think it's a requirement.

I don't think too deeply at all with Filipina girls, you can say anything and they'll at least go along with it. Middle class ones tend to get American humor, pop culture and things like that, and lower class ones/ ones who recently came from provinces won't be able to easily pick up wit, but they're looking for a good piping in general from my experience.

Hard for me to say what I usually talk about, I just go with the flow. While I was over there I would usually just ask "I'm hungry, you wanna come get food with me?" and they'd be like sure. If it was okcupid it was easy, I'd quickly scan their profile, pick any arbitrary thing and open it up with it and go from there. Filipina girls don't put their vaginas on a pedestal from my experience online, so there's nothing really too it.

Day game, I usually just say "I'm new here, what is there to do that's fun" - and go with that. I've been lucky in that the few times I've tried day gaming it's gone well enough that I didn't have to be that engaging, I'm sure if I asked a few more girls or the really really hot ones (who aren't prostitutes) I'd probably have to be a bit more clever.

Yeah I've gotten that "what are you doing here" question a lot. I make up some shit about working remotely while I travel and the work is interesting hook point sometimes. It's enough. Sometimes they ask how long, and I'm vague, or I say as long as I want.

Checked out a cool place in Makati last night- thanks to OxfordSexMachine for the recommendation. I made some friends and made out with a cute chick, but wasn't aggressive enough to pull I guess- although she was a little attention whore-ish. Should've gone more caveman. I suggested we take a walk in the mall (we were in SM aura, bad idea to go to her date) since we were on the roof and it was hot. She didn't follow my lead, so I just left. She offered her hand to shake and didn't even stand up. What a fucking cunt.

This tinder thing is driving me nuts. I've spoken to a few people and nobody has ever seen anything like it. If i was banned I'd get a message, and I've tried customer support. It's like a fucking get to Disney world to find out most of the rides are broken.
Still I'm doing much better than back home.

So today I forked over the 40 bucks for an FC account, and tonight I went to Valkyrie/Revel with some of those friends from last night. Tons of hot chicks, I did a lot of approaches, but not a lot of guys were actually pulling there. And a a few solid looking guys who were seemed to be with chicks way below par. WTF? I was never into the club thing, but I figured fuck it and approached a lot. Receptions were mostly lukewarm, tough to really engage, unlike at Z hostel where this cutie was all over me. So I called it a night at 4am.

Time to sleep.

Yesterday I had a couple dates-

-one sweet cute twenty year old cheerleader who turned out to be a virgin, great chemistry and had a good time - no bang though. This girl was marriage material if I was ready for that. But...
- one twenty four year old who I used as a dinner companion but I was way tired from the night before, she wanted to come upstairs but she was a bit thick for my taste

El Nido was great! I was there recently for a week and loved it there.

I highly recommend a direct flight via airswift to El Nido. It's a little higher but if you can afford it, it can save you a half day on a jam packed van ride flying down windy roads cramped like sardines. Basically, you will probably waste a day of your trip getting from Puerto Princess to El Nido, and that's what 95% of people are doing.

We actually arrived early enough on the first day via our direct flight to take one of the tours, which start at 9 am.

Yeah I was gonna go there with a german friend I met the other night but he's staying in hostels and planning to do the van thing. He's a younger dude who's on a long trip (he's gonna do two weeks in Il Nido) and I'm getting the sense his travel style might be a bit rugged for me. So I'm rethinking traveling with him.
I don't know if a full day of traveling makes sense each way if I'm only going for a few days, so the flight sounds like the way to go.

A better plan might be to hang here in Manila a few days longer to see if I can find a chick to bring, or just travel separately and meet up with the guy there if I can't.
I feel like my lack of organization and general scatterbraininess is biting me in the ass a bit, and together with bad luck it hasn't given me much time to relax.
Here's a question: How much cash would you allocate per day to bring to Il Nido? I read there are no ATMS and I had a minor scare when I was in Mexico last year with a chick in a place the machines were outta cash for a few days.

Self employed or don't bother moving here. You're competing against IT professionals making a poverty wage. And the Philippines is NOT the place to go for budget accommodations.

Also prepaid cards are pretty much useless for Tinder here as bots are being IP banned, so I'm guessing tinder server isn't looking kindly at the prepaid IP. Get a postpaid account if you are staying long term.

^ Tinder is hardly usable with mobile data, you get logged out almost instantly once you leave your wifi and cannot log back in until you're back to wifi. Strangely, you do get tinder notifications while you're on data, but you can't respond since you can't login.

If you have tinder shadowing you, just follow these steps:
- buy a new sim card
- create a new gmail and fb account with your new sim card
- add friends on your fb and pics, wait a few days
- use go on tinder web version and DONT use any VPN or tor
- enjoy banging RVF 8s and 9s

Fixed the tinder issue. I'm using https://www.privateinternetaccess.com for VPN - that seems to fix it on the iPhone!
