these are things I will be checking out at the fair...as I know every school has varying salary/benefit packages....However, Somethings I think you need to take into account is the exchange rate and cost of living in some of these countries is a lot lower than in a western developed country....Being on a western salary even if below a standard US salary will afford you a better lifestyle than being a teacher in US(yes, i know this is changing as the dollar sinks)

I cant speak on Colombia/Brazil, but I know a good friend who has taught in Bolivia for the last 3 years at an international school and her salary was on par with US schools, not to mention a healthy housing allowance with a maid, retirment package, salary bonus at the end of contract, and paid plane flights home/abroad....Another friend is in Bangkok at a top tier international school he is making more than a typical US educator, with a superb housing allowance/retirement/health insurance package....coupled with the exchange rate, believe me he is living an incredible lifestyle as a foreigner in thailand, minus the headaches of visa runs, ....and most importantly saving for his future.

Mixx - I made a few adjustments to my Itinerary due to time ect. I wanna break up the bus ride from Bogota to Santa Marta. Which town in route do you think I should get off at and stay the night?

edited** ok after thinking about it, I should prob go to Cucuta from Bogota, then cross the border in Venezeula and check out Merida.

Cucuta and Bucaramanga are great options to make as pit stops. Hot women who seldom see any type of tourists. I'm very curious to se what you think of the border crossing to Venezuela, and the girls of Merida


Keep in mind that Merida is a University city and it also can get pretty cold at night with temps dropping into mid 40's (F) at night - so dress warm. Also, keep in mind that Merida is a 12hr bus ride from Cucuta. Not sure if you knew that.

ok i decided to scratch going to Venez. Just to much of a hassle with limited time. I save it for nxt trip.

ok i just bought the tickets for this trip! man i was an idiot and waited when i should have purchased tickets along time ago! damn prices go up like everyday!

trip itinerary has drastically changed due to not being able to leave on my initial planned date (school obligations). due to lesser time im going to be spending the 9 days on the Caribbean coast. here is the new itinerary....

I think that much more geographically reasonable itinerary will make for a much more enjoyable trip. All three of those cities are awesome. Have fun! I'll drop some knowledge I have at some point before you go.

Ahh...so you've chosen the most fun, and down-to-earth girls of Colombia DTF anytime in the cities along the coastline. Santa Marta is breathtaking! Make sure you get a girl from BAQ to show you some top hidden spots there for sex on the beach in Santa Marta.

not sure how i want to approach going out at night.

option 1 - meet a girl during the day and invite her out to party/dance

option 2 - roll dolo and pickup at the club

im worried with option one the chick not being DTF or if i spot something else her cockblocking.

preferably id want to meet a girl and go in a big group soo i can break off and bounce another grl without being noticed and not worrying about leaving the chick by herself.

Leaving a girl by herself is not something than Colombianas are used to. The rule of thumb is this: If a girl goes with you to a club, and you have already made-out with her at minimun, she will go back to your pad for sex after the night ends. It is an unwritten rule in Barranquilla.

Do not worry about it, you are in Barranquilla, these girls are DTF!! All yo have to do is not fuck it up!

Make sure you have made-out with her before taking her to a club, or if you just want to use her as social proof, make sure she has a safe ride home, and she has other girls to keep her company. Girls are not used to going clubbing with guys bolting on them for other women.

However, my advice is this: Never pass up a sure thing for "greener" pastures. Your time is very limited in these cities. If you had a month there, my advice would be different.

I dont even leave girls in the states by themselves. i think thats just alittle fucked up. (if they turn into a bitch than thats a diff story)

Ive never really done any day game so finding a grl and makingout pre-going out will be new to me. But it seems like a sure fire plan. Meet, build comfort/appeal, then attempt to makeout. That should let me know how dtf she is. Im use to just rolling to a club/bar and swooping there.

Im really liking my itinerary as far as having shit to do each night.

There should be something going on every night in Cartagena, and at the VERY LEAST there will be pregagos to shore. Then Thur and Fri i should be able to find something going down in Barranquilla, then finish off the weekend in Santa Marta.

Rolling dolo and trying to pick up at a club may not be a great strategy.

I was hanging out with a girl from Cali last night and she told me that girls never roll out in pairs or crews of just women. It's mainly as pairs with another guy or mixed groups.

They meet guys through their extended network. For example, someone in your group introduces the girl to some guy in another group while at the club. But there is always a connection.

She was shocked when I suggested the idea of a guy cold calling her in a bar.

It seems that a pre-requisite for success in Colombia is day game or online game.

Really? The carribean coastline will be big part of my colombia trip, but until now i thought it was a city like Barranquilla (lots of buildings, but great nightlife) I get more excited each day!!

Dash, I am moving abroad from the States to Mexico to teach english, I have a bachelors in marketing but I have no certifications you are talking about...how do I go about making more money as a teacher? I know I will be poor but I want to make enough to live and travel a bit. (esp to Colombia)

Honestly, id move back to ur hometown and stay with family and go to the cheapest nearest college and knock out the 1.5 yrs to get a teaching licence if ur gonna teach in any setting.

Even ppl with CELTA's (great ESL Cert) dont make alot and have crappy hours. Your gonna wanna work at a real school with good hours and good pay. Only way to do that is to have a teaching licence unless u have some serious connections at a University or International School.

If u only wanna teach for a year or 2 then fine just do some online cert for teaching English and u can go south and teach, not gonna make anything and the hours are gonna suck. But If u wanna live and teach somewhere for like 4-5 yrs then Id suggest going back to school. Like I said If u can live on the cheap with friends or family and go to a cheap university and only pay tuition not housing than its worth it in the end.

For those of you seeking to get a job in a private school teaching an American curriculum, I suggest that you do get your license, and some experience. Schools in s.america tend to not hire those without experience much like anywhere else.... So, if you want experience and can't get it locally, go teach English in Japan, s.korea etc for a year or two then slide into a school in s.america.

Now, back to the forum thread,,, live it up in Colombia!!!

I had had all 7-8's saved to my favorites for when i purchased the Gold.
