In NYC 36% of women have genital herpes.

Of men and women, 46% Of African Americans, and 14% of whites have it. Presumably among whites and African Americans, women have it more commonly.

It's not that big of a deal. If the girl is on valtrex and you wear a condom your chances of catching it are 1 in 1000 or less, if I remember correctly.
Even people who have herpes and use no protection aren't shedding the virus for the majority of the year.
I was in the same situation as you, back in December. I met a sexy half asian, half Russian girl on Tinder. Took the girl home, we made out and I had her mostly naked and she told me. Do you specifically ask to be tested for herpes (HSV-1 and HSV-2 IgG) every time you get an STD test? If you don't, you're probably not getting it--the standard battery is usually just gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, syphilis, and maybe stuff like Hep C if your insurance covers it and your doctor's in a "why the hell not?" kind of mood.

Soup you're overreacting. The simplest explanation is usually the likeliest.

She probably has no idea that she could transmit it to the skin and like you and the rest of the mostly STD uneducated population thought that she could only transmit it to your dick or mouth, and then only when she has an outbreak.

I don't understand any STD scare if you are out to collect notches. If you are going to swim with sharks you will eventually get bit.

Also, 90% of the adult population has oral herpes, but most don't even know it. That is because a lot of people don't know what that split on their lip is. It is also because a lot of people don't even get it on their lip, they get it inside their mouth and they write it off as a canker sore. Oral herpes is most commonly spread through sharing drinks and whatnot. I've had it since I was a child, so it really is no big deal to me. I still go down on girls, but I just make sure I check my lips and gums in a mirror before doing so.

Genital herpes is a little more severe of a story, but there is honestly too much of a stigma against it. I would much rather have genital herpes than HPV.
