On a day when a huge OpenSSL shut down the biggest bitcoin exchange for 8 hours, no panic ensued and, just like in the previous 4 or 5 days the price of bitcoin just ain't moving.

Was hoping for it to go lower so I could buy some cheap but doesn't look like its going any lower so bought some more at 450 today.

The support at 450 is looking really solid. Be interesting to see what happens when this expected China annoucement comes around on the 15th April.

Yeah agree 15:th will be interesting. If China took us up to $1200, then down to $400 what will happen then?

I think the Chinese don't understand the HODL concept yet.

But when this rocket launch it will go wild. Especially when it passes $1200.

I've only just started getting really interested in bitcoin and this thread is definitely helpful to give the other side of the bad light its been put in. I'm a student but I've got 13k saved and thinking about dropping 5k into it and holding on for the long haul in hope it could be something like google. Also what do you guys think of doge coin?

Just bought some more at 400

Hoping it goes lower so I can buy more but beyond the FUD of the 15th not sure we'll see.

Next 8 days are going to be bearish and after that things should clear up and be more solid

I like doge coin they have done some good like funding the jamaican bobsled team and another athlete to sochi. Atm im going to hold off buying any bitcoin the price is continuing to drop difficult to know how long its going to drop for. Anyway I think its good to diversify a bit in different cryptos. If one of them make it big similar to bitcoin you could be a millionaire from a $100 investment.

My current thoughts on trading direction is that a combination of the 18% upswing we saw in the last 24 hrs combined with the very high amount of trading volume seen would suggest that we are gearing up for a possible sharp move up once the April 15th thing is out of the way.

I would expect that the FUD around the 15th thing will keep a lid on things until maybe the 17th or 18th though.

Well April 15th is here and nothing happened (so far at least) in terms of these annoucements

Price back up to 500 USD again

Once the FUD dissipates over the next week there is a fair chance we will see a decent price rise as both the support and the trade volume I am seeing are encouraging

At 510 now. When it hits 525 I hit a 50% profit since Friday on my last trade.

BTC was now added exactly 2,000,000 in market cap since Friday.

Yep 2 billion dollars in 4 days - yikes!

Someone with far more money than I is making some serious wedge on these swings.

Pretty much all of them allow international wire transfer.

Try bistamp.net or krakken.

International withdrawals will be charged with 0.09% fee on bitstamp.

Minimum fee is $15.00 USD on Bitstamps end and may incur additional international bank fees depending on your bank.

I am NOT opposed to trading BTC, yet in the past months, I have been inclined to believe that BTC prices are far below market value trend line (which currently seems that it should be in the $650 to $800 range). Accordingly, I am buying and HODLing. When the price goes above what I believe to be the then trend line, I will sell off some BTC in small increments or more likely trade with those expected profits.

At the moment BTC prices seem to be too set in place and about to rocket into higher places. Accordingly, I would prefer to have most of my eggs in the BTC basket, when the skyrocketing time comes.

The lack of BTC price volatility, especially in the past month, has likely taken away much potential for profitable trading, and certainly there has been much more volatility in various Alts.

Anyone knows whats going on with cryptorush.in? I know they had been hacked or something havn't been able to login for weeks. Now I can login and tells me how many coins I got in various currencies but I can't trade or do anything. Anyone been able to logon and trade or cashout? I don't have much money sitting in there but don't really trust the exchange anymore so wanna clear my funds out.

Yeah... a lot of people are NOT so excited about the reputations and/or integrity of a large number of exchanges nor do people have a lot of confidence in various exchanges. I agree that $200 is NOT a lot of money; however, it seems to be a good principle to maintain your claim to the money, even if it is a small amount.

One thing is attempting to get information about cryptorush on discussion forums, such as this or cryptorush, and another thing is to attempt to get a direct response from the administrators of cryptorush about the status of your funds.

In that regard, if you have NOT already created a ticket with them, I would create a ticket with cryptorush to see what specifically they are saying regarding the timeline in which you would receive returned access to your funds. There does seem to be some good signs that they are proclaiming to be a legit exchange, so there still seems to be some hope - though I would lose my confidence too, based on what appears to be nearly two months of being accused of NOT having the coins of depositors.

Keeps bouncing back to 500 though.

Medium term I don't think BTC will get a lot cheaper than 500. In fact I think 500 represents a fairly solid low and a good point to buy.

As I type this BTC is 490 but as it went down to 468 I think setting a buy order at 470 is a good play right now.

Thoughts?

I wish I knew and trusted Bitcoins in its earlier years...Right now I don't even know of any profitable way to make money off bitcoins...

You seem to be buying into part of the mainstream hype that bitcoin is overvalued. That same propaganda line has been present throughout bitcoin's history - in the four previous times preceding the bubble and its consolidation phases. Currently, bitcoin seems to be going through another consolidation phase prior to a bubble.


You cannot live sanely with the "what ifs" and the "I should have" of the past, you have to consider the present, and to act accordingly, and there are always going to be good investments that may NOT be recognized at the moment.


Accordingly, now if you do NOT recognize the upside potential of btc, then you will likely need to look for another investment. Even though and despite bitcoin's recent 1000x appreciation in value, NOW seems to be as good a time as any to get into bitcoin.
