Looking to head to Europe with two buddies at the end of June (for 3-3.5 weeks).

Have some questions I'm hoping the more experienced travelers can help me out with (this will be my first time leaving the country).

The cities we are interested in checking out:
London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome, Barcelona (I know these are major cities = more $$, just havent done enough research to know the low-key value spots)

Our thinking is that we would stay in each city for 3-4 days, using the train to travel between cities.

Is this reasonable to accomplish? Would we be better off choosing fewer cities/booking flights instead of trains/ and staying there for a couple days longer?

Also whats the best way to go about finding cheap places to stay in these cities? I've heard couch surfing and hostels are the way to go, how far in advance do i need to figure this stuff out?


Also how much $$ am i looking at spending with this kind of plan? Im thinking 3K, not including airfare. Am I way off here?

Any other tips/advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm def a traveling noob but I really want to make the most of my travel time.
