Steve Wilson and Mikael Åkerfeldt appear on Steve Hackett's (my favorite musician) Genesis Revisited II CD.

Lover's Leap is just one section of a 24 minute song by Genesis called Supper's Ready. It's the Stairway to Heaven of prog.

Here's Genesis doing it in 1974. Peter Gabriel on vocals, and a young Phil Collins playing drums and singing background vocals. The guitarist in the video (Steve Hackett) is doing a Genesis tour currently and tearing it up.

Those visuals are the epitome of the 70s. Peter Gabriel's flower getup is terrifying. Guitarwork is great; I want a 12-string now.

Royal Blood was OK. I didn't like the drummer though. Neither his playing or the sound. Gonna keep an eye on them anyway.

I'm indeed a metalhead, but lately been listening to a lot of blues. BBKing, Buddy Guy, Joe Bonamassa.

Please recomend me some good blues and decent hardrock (guns and roses, something with balls not the fagotty assed hardrock from nowadays)

The person who uploaded it has the full album as a playlist.

These guys I find to be really inconsistent, but I liked this album a lot when it came out (and saw them live). I also like the story about how Dave Wyndorf wrote it. Monster Magnet were struggling to make a living making music, and he thought he'd have one last roll of the dice, literally. He exiled himself to Las Vegas for a month. Every day, he would go to the seediest strip clubs and gambling dens and engage in some gonzo song writing of the seedy underbelly of the real American dream. Then, he'd go back to his hotel, watch the sun come up over Las Vegas, and write a song. Reminded me of Hunter S. Thompson in some way.





Thought these guys were interesting. Full album also as a playlist.

OK, a questionable recommendation. Don't care much for his politics but Tom Morello is one of my all time favorite guitarists. I loved his stuff with RATM and Audioslave. He's a guy who makes the most out of the least. It's weird because he lists Iron Maiden and Randy Rhoads as big influences but he's stylistically on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. He's got this mind where he can turn anything into a composition.

Has anyone seen "It Might Get Loud", the documentary with Jimmy Page, The Edge (U2), and Jack White? It's really interesting, they take 2 guitarists who cite Jimmy Page as a huge influence but they're totally opposite styles - Jack White is all about roots, going real basic, minimal electronics, and then The Edge who never found a slapback echo he didn't like. You can see where they both got influences, because Page did both, but it's so weird to see them hanging out together. Black and Edge don't know what to make of each other. There's this hilarious scene where Jimmy Page plugs in and starts up the riff to "Whole Lotta Love". He starts playing and Edge stands up to get a closer look with this smile on his face like "so that's how it's done" and Jack Black looks like he might cry.

Favourite Red Hot Chili Peppers album?

Mine is One Hot Minute (BSSM second)

One time I sent this album to my friend to try and convert him. His response "I hate it. It's really scatty and all over the place". Precisely!





It's a shame they've become so boring, I absolutely love everything they did before 1999.
