Look forward to reading it. I read Fobbit and The Yellow Birds last year, different books about the Iraq war but both excellent.

I second The Yellow Birds. The guy who wrote it is also a vet.
For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure it won The National Book Award a couple of years ago.
I haven't heard of the other but will check it out.

Fobbit is about Camp Victory ("Camp Triumph" in the book) and the culture there. Pretty funny book, also with some tragedy.

If you're into military books. My favourite is House to House by David Belavia.

Generation kill is also fucking awesome. Probably the best documented thing from any war.
War by Sebastian Junger is also good.
