Did some extra exploring around the city today.

There are LOTS of white people/tourists in this city. Majority of white guys I saw were with scrub sub-5 Asian chicks, or overweight white girls. I saw maybe one or two with decent Asians or other European girls. Lordy, looks like Asia's going down the shitter.

On the positive side, the food is better than China, and the locals aren't as hostile and arrogant as the Chinese.

Any update on decent gyms with a squat rack in D1? Last time I worked out at Machs which was mediocre at best, California asked for a ridiculous price that made Equinox in NYC/Chicago seem cheap.

Anyway... getting back to HCM - I am really starting to worry about my prospects with Vietnamese girls - they are soooo conservative from my experience trying to pipeline a few! Outside of the Saigon nightclub scene, from what I've heard, your average girl on the street is probably 3x to ten times more conservative than your average Western girl. Even Vietnamese women here in the United States that I have in my social circle are overwhelmingly in relationships or marriage. These chicks play to win. Maybe it is genetic and/or cultural? I highly doubt that anyone is racking up huge numbers in Vietnam, especially outside of the big cities. I've worked with a lot of Vietnamese, and they are extremely brutally blunt if you embarrass the family. It wouldn't surprise me if a family shamed a girl who slept around before marriage.

I'm also finding that they are EXTREMELY boring to talk to; I thought Thai girls were pretty bad but man... these Viets are fucking dull. Perhaps because their English is so very bad compared with Thais.

I found the only way to avoid them is to go to places that are expensive. I was in Hong Kong for 5 or 6 days before I saw a backpacker and I even did the touristy stuff.

My experience thus far: it's fairly easy to get girls to meet you for a coffee. You can stack 3 or more dates in a single day, with quality girls aged 18-24. But I've rarely found sluts that will put out on the first date. The country doesn't seem like it's the type of place for quick bangs. You need to have roots on the ground and be here long-term, then build up a harem I'm guessing. Another thing: of all the foreigners I've seen with local girls, the majority of them were not with hot girls.

Also, the AirBnb prices are fucking outrageous. There are no decent deals to be found for a long-term stay. I guess you need a girl to help you find a quality apartment, not some whitey priced shithole the locals are trying to make a buck off of.

Btw, I'm thinking of picking up some running shoes while I'm here. At one of the Western style malls, not the fake market, heh. Anyone know if they're cheaper here than back home or more expensive?
