I will be in Vietnam for the first few weeks of February. Between HMC and Nha Trang. If anyones around let me know.

Also even though it's not a significant amount, Vietnam has lowered it's price for stamp in visa's to boost tourism. Hopefully they will just get with the program soon enough and allow most countries a free visa on arrival with no prior paperwork needed.

Doing preliminary planning for a trip I'm making. I plan on hitting HCM (in addition to Philippines, Thailand and Taiwan) for a month. What are my options in terms of finding a place to stay for a month? I've been looking at rent prices to get a close idea, and the estimation seems to be 500USD for a place in the city centre. I might have few free weeks in Asia before flying back to Europe.
I have been interested in Vietnam.
It seems that these days Ho Chi Minh is the hot destination where RVFers congregate.

As it might be my last destination in Asia for few years to come I am taking it very seriously. Is middle of Novermber a good time to visit? Apart from gaming chicks how comfortable is Ho Chi Minh for a few weeks stay.

How does it compare to other cities in VN?

Currently on the ground in Saigon.

Mid-November is a good time to visit. Might not be the best time, but there is still lots of action here all year round. That's my experience of any big city in SE Asia. My recommendation is to find a cheap apartment in D1 or nearby on Airbnb. Mine costs 500usd/1 month. Ask them before if they are ok with you bringing guests. Most people on Airbnb are pretty casual about that stuff.

Rent a motorbike for 30usd/month and you're set for transport.

In a couple of weeks, I've got results from daytime approaches, night game and Tinder. There are literally thousands of local girls online, but digging for the quality is the challenge.

Compared to the main beach town, which is called Da Nang, there are more nightlife options in Saigon and there is just a lot more going on generally. 9 million compared to less than 1 million. However, Da Nang is much more chilled out and it's fairly easy to meet girls there, too. Very friendly to foreigners. Lots of places to hang out (go to the beach, motorbike in the mountains etc.) in Da Nang. It is common to congregate with friends at coffee shops until very late every night. November will be rainy there though. Can't vouch for Hanoi as I've never been.

If you're thinking about it, just go. You won't regret it.

Saigon is nice, but don't expect to pull quality from online sites and apps, whether Tinder or Vietnam Cupid. This is a city of 5s and 6s, which turn into 8s and 9s after a few seconds of Photoshop magic. Day game is hit and miss, as most of the truly attractive girls speak little English. 'Day' game is also restricted to nighttime, since it's just too hot to walk around. The city also isn't very walkable in general--it's built for motorbikes. I don't want to sound like a negative Nancy but Saigon is far from the pussy paradise some people are hyping it up to be.

Agreed with Patriarch.

I like the city, but it is not for everyone. It's not a place to come for easy bangs unless you learn some Vietnamese and put down long term roots here. You'll need a motorbike and know how to navigate the crazy SEA traffic, and if you opt to walk, you'll need to watch your shit and at the same time dodge motorbikes coming at you from all directions. A good buddy of mine had recently got his phone stolen, too.

I agree. It's not easy to get girls there but I enjoy spending time with them much more than other asian cities. Crossing the street is pretty scary at first but after a while you get use to it. Uber is plentiful there and super cheap for getting around if you don't want to ride a motorbike. The best part about the entire city is the abundance of amazing and cheap street food everywhere.

Honestly I would have just went back to Manila or to Jakarta if I wanted notches. What I seek now is a new interesting country to explore and some new experiences.

I have also stopped relying on online as my main means of getting leads.

How is it running a daygame in a city designed for bikes? Will I have to write a datasheet on Bike Game after I visit?

I spent a week in Saigon (HCMC) this past June and was really impressed as I thought for Asian girls Vietnam had some of hottest Asian girls in my opinion compared to Thailand, Korea or other spots in Asia which are probably more played out.

The people were very friendly and prices cheap. I had 1 easy lay off of Badoo. Lot's of Russians mainly in Nha Trang due to the no visa issue but I met some in HCMC too.

That said... Maybe I'm biased because I prefer white girls and I thought despite some hotties the overall average quality is better in Ukraine.

That big square/walking street is the best place for day game but good luck with that the Vietnamese girls English is terrible. I didn't find it hard to get laid but had to put some effort in, as everywhere. Didn't like the personality of the Vietnamese people though. So sharp. Banged a Korean there, she was way more pleasant to be with compared to the Vietnamese.

Yes Ukraine stands as the number one in lists of many players. But I will not compare.
If there is a yellow fever than what I have is opposite. There is no such thing as an Asian 9 for me. But it will not stop me from enjoying a new country and hopefully some 7s or 8s.

Were you able to pull any? I didn't see too many without guys. I brought a girl so there was no gaming for me. I got eye fucked by some hot russian girls and I was surprised. For the most part I saw lots of 7-9 Russan girls with guys who were 4-7. It seems extreme even for Russian culture but I thought maybe it was wealthy guys taking hot girls on a vacation.

Also it is really annoying being white in Nha Trang because everyone speaks to you in Russian thinking you're Russian since you're there and arent Vietnamese.

Here are some examples of how the Vietnamese are sharp:

I've never lost as much random change as in Vietnam. The confusing currency doesn't help matters, but local merchants will sometimes rapidily give you change in a deceptive way and in the blink of an eye you have lost money. They also won't tell you if you accidentally give them a big note. Parking attendants might fine you for some obscure violation and try to milk you for cash (This happened - I got them down to 30% of the original amount). Taxi drivers might use a fake meter or drive you around in circles to increase the amount you pay. Police might pull you over to extract a fine (I got asked for 1 million dong, got him down to 200,000).

Don't want to make the Vietnamese out to be crooks as this is probably a D1 thing, but you have to be on the ball in Saigon. The women are just an extension of the wider culture. Nightlife girls who aren't outright hookers are often on the long con and they are very convincing.

Also look out for:

Anyone who approaches you on the street and attempts to rapidly provide any kind of service, like shoe shining or taking pictures. They'll do it without asking and demand an exorbitant amount of money, and generally make your life a living hell for the next ten minutes.

Anyone selling anything from the war. It's 100% fake.

Robbers on motorbikes. I know this is going to sound like common knowledge, of course you watch your shit when you're in any city. But if motorbike riding was an agility sport, the Vietnamese would be world class athletes. Always shield your wallet or phone on the side of your body facing away from the street, and even then watch for bikes riding on the sidewalk.

Never, ever leave your fucking motorbike unattended. It WILL be gone if you run inside your apartment for 5 seconds. You can steal a parked and locked bike in about 4 or 5 seconds with a bobby pin or any piece of small metal.

Always carry a 200k dong note in one of your pockets separate from your wallet. This is sufficient to bribe the police for any traffic infraction short of running over a toddler.

ALWAYS ask for the price of everything you buy, before you buy it. Don't order lunch at a street food place without knowing the price, and then wondering why you paid 10 dollars for a shitty bowl of noodles.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
