I've been going nuts for the last couple weeks trying to figure out to go for a short 4 day vacation. Been reading this forum every day, just getting more frustrated cause i couldnt make up my mind. Alas, I got a ticket tonight to leave from Miami to MDE in the morning. I need some advice quick!
1. Where should I stay, I'm willing to pay up to $120 a night? I want to do what everyone else is looking to do party, meet girls, etc. However I speak very limited Spanish, and I'm a little uncomfortable about getting mugged.
2. Best way to get where I'm staying from the airport?
3. Anyone in Medellin now want to hang out and party? I'm going solo. I'll be there the 5th through 8th. I'm laid back, late 20's, got good game, not weird. Etc.

theapartmentmedellin.com or if you are just up for mongering and you speak little spanish check out the mansion. i think it is medellinmansion.com...it is full of American dudes just there to party, many of them do not speak spanish. The staff can arrange many things for you. The mansion is in the oviedo section of Medellin.
Your cab ride from the airport to medellin is about 45 minutes. It will cost around $25-35 USD, depending. Get in a marked taxi. ALWAYS have a copy of your passport on you, and ALWAYS have the written address of where you are staying on you at all times.
DO get a local cell phone. It will cost you $80 or so but you can use it for your next trips
DO stay in a safe area (El poblado neighborhood)
DO NOT leave drinks unattended or get in the cab with anyone you do not know well.
Online game is gold here. Day game is gold, clubs suck unless you can salsa dance or speak spanish (or both).
Try to get a wing to watch your back, no matter if he's older or a chump. Someone getting your back is better than no one. Make sure you get a spanish translator if you speak shitty spanish. They DO NOT sell these in medellin I looked everywhere! pick one up at walmart or staples.
There are some good casas with some hot chicas, although I only went the one time. It was WORTH IT. the rest of the trips were all chicas I lined up online or day gamed....
I find it depressing when I hear guys say they get laid in colombia mostly by online dating, because First I love getting girls from clubs, Second, girls you find in online dating will not be as hot as girls you can find in clubs..

The whole point of talking to online girls on sites like Latincupid.com is to get a bang within HOURS of landing. I mean that literally. Your chances of getting laid with a non-pro on your first 2 days in Colombia are very slim from cold street approaches, and club venues alone. Especially if your Spanish is very limited. In order to get things rolling, I too hit a few girls online to guarantee that I have a safety net of pussy to hit the ground running. If the girl I meet online is not willing to bang within hours of meeting me, then I do not bother even calling her when I land, and call the one that will.
Granted, I have traveled to Colombia so much, that I no longer need online pre-dates as I have enough pussy waiting for me as soon as I land anyways. Girls I gamed from a previous trip that I could not get to bang for whatever reason.

You are wrong. Online game is a minimum investment, with a max return. Why do you still have a 1990's mindset that internet dating is somehow inferior? That is your problem. I've tested it, it is the best thing going in colombia. I'd go girl for girl/ number for number with you or any guy on this board and most likely win hands down. My spanish is barely passable and my salsa is hardly respectable. Sorry for the late report. I don't have anything particularly interesting or new to report, so I wasn't too inspired to share. So, I ended up going to Medellin for 3 days. First off it's really beautiful there, so green and clean looking. The taxi ride from the airport to my hotel was amazing. I ended up staying at the Art Hotel in Parque Lleras, a little expensive, but it was easy and convinent for a first timer. The rooms are very modern and the hotel staff were very helpful.
The two main things I learned which have been posted here many times before is: 1. You really need to know Spanish 2. Colombia is not the easiest place to go for a couple days and close girls. If I was down I
there for a month or two and had a cell phone and apartment it would be no problem to find a lot of girls to go out with.
I mostly went out in Parque Lleras the nightlife was really good but everyone speaks spanish as expected. So, if you're like me and don't speak spanish you are going to have a tough time chatting up ladies. I met a couple girls who spoke limited english but they are far and few in between.
All in all, it's a great city and a cool place to set up shop for a couple months and relax and enjoy the nightlife. I'd definitely like to go back and explore more of Colombia. Let me know if anyone has any specific questions.

You should have hit other night spots other than Parque Lleras. Gringos are nothing special there as they see them regularly and prob come from wealthy families or have a rich drug dealer bf's.
Also how much effort did u put into getting a ONS? Even without speaking spanish you can dance and escalate physical kino to a point where you can suggest to bounce to ur hotel.
Did you go out with washingtonian?
Ill be there on a short stay soon soo i gotta figure out how to overcome the difficulties facing limited spanish speaking gringos with limited time.

Speaking of easy lays. I was chatting witha a girl I have not banged yet, but I met on a previous trip. She got very angry at me for some reason. The conversation led to foreigners, and how they are viewed by local women as short term travelers only looking to get laid.
She was furious as to why foreign men had this concept of the women there as being easy targets for sex.
