I think this goes to show that feminine beauty is equally prized by both men and women. To understand dykes, you have to imagine them as just another type of "man". Which they are, in a sense.

I ran into another one of these couples, but unfortunately I didn't get to talk to them to piece things together. The funny thing though is in this specific instance, the 'butch' one was formerly straight, she had had a boyfriend I was told, in recent years. The butch girl would be a 5 or 6 at best with feminine style, and she was well below that with her butch look. I could understand her, the ugly 5, becoming a lesbian because she couldn't secure a decent man.

But that still doesn't explain why the cute girl she was dating, while not a smokeshow this time, was still a solid 7.5.

Looking back on this thread, I'd chalk it up to the two factors I mentioned earlier:

1. Cock trauma - she has been pumped and dumped so many times that she is averse to getting emotionally invested in men. But she still craves that emotional connection. To get that emotional connection from a man, she'd have to lower her standards, because she's been fucking studs out of her league all her life, and they aren't about to see her as wife material. And she just can't handle that huge downgrade. Even if no one else really cared, she'd think everyone would see her as a loser for settling with a dork when she's been rutting with cool dudes all along.

2. It's Diiiiiiiiiiiifferent - In that vein, a lesbian is like a guy with a foreign accent. Suddenly the fact they are otherwise an average guy is irrelevant; everything he does is seen in a positive light. I've witnessed this with my own eyes, the Italian guy spitting sappy game at an American girl that would never work in a million years on her coming from a non-celebrity American male. She's no longer dating a decently cool American guy, but OMG AN ITALIAN HE'S SO ROMANTIC. Lesbians, like Italians, are just on a whole other metric in these girls' minds.

3. Gay is cool - When homosexuality was more taboo, the social opprobrium a girl faced for dating a woman was enough to not even consider a lesbian relationship. Now, it's the opposite, as 2Wycked pointed out. Girls get cultural brownie points for dating other women now. We may see more post-wall women becoming lesbians, because they have trouble finding men to emotionally connect with and commit to them.

4. History of drug abuse, sexual abuse, physical abuse or other mental trauma. These things can change people in all kinds of ways. This is a factor some of the time, surely, but it wouldn't explain why we're seeing more and more of these dime and troll couples increasing over time.

I don't really buy the aggressiveness explanation, because a hot girl can find that without issue. That explanation may make sense for a girl who isn't so hot, sure. What I *do* see is girls punishing men for behavior like aggressiveness or neediness that they reward in women. And that ties back to my reason #2 above.

It's trendy. It's on TV and in the movie! That makes it like the Backstreet Boys circa 1999. Women are nothing if not followers. And the massive anti-male sentiment of America 2014 only adds to it.

I also think today's adult culture plays into what younger women are doing.

I could just see Yuppie parents justifying their daughters going lesbian by saying something like "I'd rather have her with a secure, responsible gainfully employed woman that one of today's (gasp!) men."

Also, this is just an assumption, but I wonder if guidance counselor and psychologists aren't pushing women into this:

"I have such problems with men!"

"Have you ever seriously thought about dating women?"

And, finally, there are the colleges and their anti-male courses in sociology and Women's Studies, which in a sane society would qualify as hatred but in ours is respected.

From what I have seen with lesbians and hot "straight" looking girls is that they like shoving it in any mans face.

I worked a shift and this group of ugly lesbians came in and they were rocking this cute, straight girl like a new handbag. Rocking it in front of me and a co-worker that is.

The thing that I learned about lesbians in the US is that they can cross over the fence anytime they want.

I had a friend who knew a few lesbians 1 dyke, 1 not who I later became decent friends with. The dyke was sisterly would be attractive if she just grew her fucking hair out and often tried to flaunt masculine traits of dominance. She was kinda my wingman at times which was kinda funny.
