The head of the Sinaloa Cartel has been captured

You want to know the only thing you can assume about a broken down old man? It's that he's a survivor.

RE: The head of the Sinaloa Cartel has been captured
Guzman was arrested by the Mexican marines at 6:40 a.m. in a high-rise condominium fronting the Pacific. He was caught with an unidentified woman.

Bossing it up with some pussy.

His fortune is over 1 BILLION.

I was being facetious.

The war on drugs is a complete and utter joke. I'm sure no one in drug enforcement actually wants it to end.

I wonder if they will hold him in a military base as opposed to a prison? I can imagine a heavily guarded military base is one of the very few places the cartel wouldnt be able to break him out of. They could probably just storm most prisons and overtake them if they wanted.

^^He bribed his way out of a "maximum security" prison in Mexico in 2001 after receiving a 20 year sentence. So hopefully the "authorities" learned their lesson.

I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't him.

They have enough money and power they could do crazy shit a la Saddam.

Kidnap a dozen look a likes, give them plastic surgery to resemble him even more closely, and make them go places and do things as decoys.

He could then have plastic surgery on himself to look completely different, and only the top handful of people around him would even know.

With the type of money, power and fear these guys wield, they can carry out even the most Hollywood-esqe plots I'd bet.

If this is him, he must have forgotten and/or refused to pay the right bribe.

There is a reason he was "hiding" in plain sight...and it is because he wasn't hiding.

RE: The head of the Sinaloa Cartel has been captured
I think it's him. It's a big humiliation in their machismo culture for the Sinaloa cartel to have their leader taken down like this. If it wasn't him, I think they would put forward some kind of video of him to show they can't get their leader.

As far as the bribing goes, the Mexican marines are the most honest of all their forces- there is a reason they are using their Navy to fight the drug war, because they are the least bought.

The big news now I think is whether they extradite him to the US. As a matter of national pride they might want to jail him in Mexico, but then the last time this happened he ended up bribing his way out of prison.

And as far as war on drugs go- of course taking out the leader makes no difference. SInaloa is humilated, but they are sitll going to be a powerful cartel and there are still plenty of other cartels out there. There's too much money in the drug trade to stop it by killing one leader. So, Mexico is still going to continue to waste their young men's lives fighitng a pointless neverending war on drugs on behalf of their far richer neighbor whose demand for drugs is driving the whole scene.

He is being held in a prison, with a Blackhawk patrolling the airspace. When he arrived there were 4 helicopters that arrived at the same time, and the roads/airspace were closed off for 90 minutes. Not to mention that the military brought a bunch of trucks with guns and artillery attached to them.

El Chapo is being held......in the same prison that he escaped from.

The warden was locked up for 6 years for letting him go but kept his cash for letting El Chapo go.

Mexicans are paranoid about anything coming out of the government.

It is him...

...the US captured him and was the first to announce the capture (Mexican media state "he was captured by US/Mexican forces). The US' announcement forced the Mexican government to confirm the capture instead of getting paid off and saying "oops, he ran away" or "he escaped through a holding cell's window".

Edit: Many of his close associates were arrested within the past month, including his head of security.

Security has been stepped down from the previous day. Mexican media state that he was arrested with his wife and had an assault rifle with him but chose not to use it.

Guess how they found him? Cell phone tap!

The military were not able to find him but got his messenger who snitched all the details on his hideouts.

I think Rionomad has a point. This dude doesn't look the guy in the previous pics.

El Chapo back then:

RE: The head of the Sinaloa Cartel has been captured
He definitely deserves to be in prison for the rest of his life but say whatever you want about El Chapo, he never waged war and went after innocent people like Los Zetas. He directed violence only toward other criminals. He kept it old school and maintained power mainly through political and police corruption and bribery rather than just wholesale murder and intimidation, like the Zetas. He fought ruthlessly against the Zetas. I knew he would be caught or killed one day but I'm still in disbelief. Definitely the end of an era.

Quote:I think Rionomad has a point. This dude doesn't look the guy in the previous pics.

Chapo was in custody from 1993 to 2001 until he bribed a guard 5 million US dollars and escaped in a laundry basket. They have his fingerprints and DNA on file and have confirmed that it is him.

While it sounds great to be a billionaire drug lord...I'm guessing the amount of pussy he could slay was rather limited...i.e. it was marriage or nothing just about. He has all the money and power but can he risk bringing a random girl with him for fun I don't know. I would think he'd be somewhat concerned about people learning his location even though most people would be way to scared to say anything afterwards.

The girl in the picture above who he was found with is a smoke show though!

Family tree of Guzman and facts.

#9 He had a weakness for women, and did everything in his power to posses any woman he liked even if they rejected him.
Guzman was about 30 years old when he met Estela Pena a employee at a bank in Nayarit, she turned him down every time, so he then kidnapped and rape her, she later married him.

He has a lot of children. I wouldn't be surprised if he hid most of the money well and his family regardless will continue to live like royalty forever.

Is interesting to see how much this organizations influence on the people of the zone they control. In Sinaola, people have protested against his detainment.

That's not how it works. Mexican drug lords are known for the vast amounts of pussy they slay.

Personally I'm kind of sad that he was the first drug lord caught and not another. As was stated above he didn't wage war on innocents, and was even known to build schools and hospitals. Deserves jail time for sure, but I think it was a bit too soon for an anti-hero like him. Also the wife posted above is one hell of chick easily a 9 minimum in my book.
