Hello all,

Recently new to the forum. About me: 28 yo, African American Male, 5'9, 190lbs, Maryland native, and currently in the U.S Coast Guard. Will be PCS (Permanent Change of Station) in June from Seattle to Alexandria, VA. Currently deciding whether I want to live in VA or DC (living in DC would be a short commute to work.

Heard a lot of bad things about DC lately. Lived in the area for five years for college feom 2003-2008 (University of Maryland) but didn't really get to experience the city too much. I keep hearing its one of the hardest places to Game in the U.S but many of the people I met from there seem to be chill. Was looking at getting an apartment in Adams Morgan in DC or Old Town Alexandria to be closer to social establishments where I can meet girls.

What are your recommendations?

It's not that DC is such a hard place to game. It's that what you get for your efforts is sub par. Others can chime in, but in the District things have moved from Adams Morgan to 14th st and also over to H st, which has more of a fake hipster vibe. A lot of where you should live depends on what kind of set up you want: whether you have a car, whether you want outdoor space, etc.

I don't know NoVa that well, but I would think Arlington would be better than Alexandria for girls. Old Town seems more like where families spend the day and have dinner. Clarendon is where the sluts go out.

I'd suggest living in the District over Old Town Alexandria.*

* District to Alexandria should be OK (at least it was when I lived in the area 5 or 6 years ago), but double-check to make sure your commute really is short. DC-area commutes that look easy on paper can be a mess in reality.

I've lived in DC and in the DC burbs (Maryland side), but spent a good amount of time in NOVA. Old Town Alexandria's a cool little place but the District will give you more female options than even the best suburb. As j r mentioned, the girl options are sub par and flakey, so you've got a approach like a machine. The forum is not lying about DC girls - is what it is - but better to be in a spot with good logistics and more options.

In short, city > suburbs. Not just for women, DC suburbs know how to get boring in a hurry.

Thanks for the responses guys. I haven't lived in that area in six years. But I do know DC has a lot of international girls, which is a good thing going for it. I'm under contract with the Coast Guard, so I can't move out of the country, but I can travel and visit places frequently.

Choose the lesser of two evils. Move to DC. Live within close distance to the 14th st corridor. Suburban life isn't good for single men.

Arlington def has a lot of hot girls. But you wont get anywhere without a social circle from JMU/VT or UVA.
Also, the ratio's there are worse then DC's. The quality of girls is a notch above DC's but so are the sausagefests.

Live in DC. You're not saving anything by cabbing it to and from Arlington if you're going out every weekend. Also, waiting for metro to pick you up sucks balls when you're ready to hit the bars. And forget metro when taking chicks home.

Adams Morgan is too ghetto. You especially won't find good talent there after midnight. If you can find a small-sized studio near 14th Street in Logan or Dupont, be prepared to fork over close to $1,400 a month. You can find them for $1,200 to $1,400, but they go quick. There seems to be a limited supply. If you can pay $1,500+ for something decent, game on.

Black dude looking for black chicks?

If you want locals/townies, consider Silver Spring.
If you want black transplants (Are Josephine and The Park still popping?), you need a cool address - preferably U-Street
If you're looking for white chicks, I'd do Clarendon/NOVA.
Hipster Chicks - they're on H-Street NE, but I'd live in NoMa so you have some kind of acces, but not have to deal with Trinidad.

Anything else, Asian/Latin/Indian/Middle East - best bet are the college areas. Although I hear Woodbridge has a ton of Latinas, and parts of MD have lots of Latin nationals. Annandale for Asians....but I wouldn't drive/transit for pussy at all.

When I was there, in 2010, I lived off 14th street. That area was kinda dead, but I hear it's popping now. My rent was 1200 + off street parking for 200, rose to 1500+

IME DC is more about social circles, even with the huge transplant/yupper/hipster population. People cluster around jobs, then industries, then interests.

WIA- I am basically into locals and international girls...no transplants. They basically are behind the "attitude" of DC girls. Race is no thing to me.
