He might not have read "Bang," but it seems like Tom Leykis' classic advice filtered down to him somehow.

One of the tenants of Leykis 101 was never to spend more than $40 on a date. I think he'd definitely be down with a rich 18-year-old taking a woman out for fast food and TV.

My take on this: he knew from the outset he didn't like her, spent as little money as possible and pretended to have a curfew to get the hell out. Had a woman done a similar thing, any guy would have sensed the rejection. The fact that she didn't get it was *her* that was the problem speaks volumes about her -- and this type of woman.

Who among us hasn't met up with a woman and for whatever reason immediately thought to ourselves "Oh no. How do I get out of this?"

Since I moved to the UK I learned that Nandos is perceived as the gold standard for chicken - whereas in Oz it's just another rubbish fastfood place. They have so much fried chicken here (thousands and thousands of stores!!) that Cottage Chicken and KFC can hold themselves out as not THAT shit just for having 'food & hygiene certification'. Nandos has certification AND tables and chairs AND peri peri sauce.

There would be many girls here that could only dream of going to Nandos on a date. It would be like a fantasy come true if a date paid for them to eat there.

The kid's play was perfect. This entire debacle exposes her as an entitled attention whoring gold-digger. She was just in it for the flash and the cash, and when she didn't get it (and she was was so certain that she absolutely deserved to get spent on lavishly with money she didn't earn from a kid she barely knew) the first thing she did was run off to the media to try and earn 15 minutes. He treated her precisely as she deserved to be treated.
