I found a good barber recently who is really into doing old-school 1950's haircuts. I guess he's a bit of a "hipster" in some ways. He talked me into getting the sides and back shaved much closer. I was looking up some of the styles he was talking about with me and found a website with some good examples:

This appears to be a hipster barbershop in Chicago but these do seem to be the trendy haircuts nowadays.
