I had noticed that too with my user name on certain screens (such as the user CP screen), but then I saw that the gold stars show up on some other screens, such as member list.

For example, the Chubby Chaser has two stars.... you can browse through the various user names on the member list, and verify the number of gold stars for each category.

I've noticed that stars are not visible for silver members - Only gold members or people who haven't donated at all. It's probably a weird glitch in the system.

Is there really now way to make the payment via creditcard without also having a paypal account?

I would really gladly donate and show at least in this way my appreciation for this community, but to be honest I definitely will not create a paypal account (I have no personal need for it).

So if there is not already a way to simply pay by creditcards (and I just do not find this way), then I highly request the officials to consider implementing such an option because I am sure that there are more users outside who would gladly donate but are not willing to create extra a paypal-account (finally every online ewallet is a potential security-risk. So there is no reason to create ewallets if you do use them on a regular basis in my opinion).

To me, it appears that if you select lifetime gold membership, then you can select from either credit card or paypal; however, if you select annual silver or annual gold subscriptions, then you only can choose paypal as an option.

There used to be a link or something for payment by bitcoin too because that is how I paid; however, it seems to me that the bitcoin link is currently NOT present in the payment options.

Maybe there is a reason for this; however, I would think that it would be better for Roosh to accept credit card directly (since he already seems to have the capability of accepting credit cards) and even continue to accept bitcoin (since he used to have that), so it seems a little unclear to me, as well, what the rationale for the different payment options depending on the form of membership chosen, unless there is some kind of glitch in the current payment options set-up?

I'm kind of speculating that Paypal may be easier to administer, but they certainly have their various fees, and credit card has fees too... ON the other hand, bitcoin would NOT have any fees in the receipt of payment department, except maybe depending on what options are available for Roosh in the cashing out department. There certainly seems like there could be a need to cash out some of any regular monthly receipt of payments from membership/subscriptions, unless the funds are kind of being held for the longer term purposes (and NOT needed for monthly cashflow balancing).

I do understand that some kinds of accounts could have more security risks, and in that regard, there would be some goals to maintain some privacy and/or to transfer moneys on a regular basis, even if that money may NOT be needed for that month's cash flow considerations.

I can select the type of my creditcard (for me it is mastercard as you can see at the screenshot),
but without providing a paypal password and hence without having a paypal account, I cannot make the transaction.

it could be administratively easier to just have Paypal; however, for the reasons that I mentioned in my earlier post and the one you suggested (not wanting to create a paypal account), it would seem that more revenues could be collected by having other payment options, too.

By the way, I had upgraded my membership over a year ago, so I had NOT looked at that page for more than a year (until I just looked at it today in response to your post).

Sometimes, you may NOT get a response from Roosh in the public threads, as you can imagine, there are a lot of threads on the forum...

Possibly, if Roosh does NOT respond within a few days to questions raised in this thread, then sending him a PM might be a good next step.... just so he could address your personal situation rather than responding more broadly regarding the current payment options set up, to the extent those options may be unclear to others.
