I'm not sure if this should be in the girls forum or the travel forum.

Obviously a guy can do well in any city if he puts his mind to it. Afterall I know guys with no game or looks whatsoever who still date, meet girlfriends and even marry. I'm just curious about general impressions of the city you reside.

I think Los Angeles is probably one of the most challenging markets in the country. There are a couple of reasons. L.A. is the biggest cockfest in the nation by numbers. Most California cities are, but L.A. has the most single men of any major city in the country. The big blue dots on the map = cockfest, the big red dots would be the vibrator belt. I don't know who coined that phrase "go west, young man" but apparently someone was listening.



On top of a bad ratio in favor of women, the women that are here are above average in looks compared with the country, which makes their value go up even more. This city, like Miami is obsessed with looks and image, and it draws a lot of people in that are. Especially those trying to make it as actresses. American women may be fat in general, but I don't see many fat women here, at least not on the scene. The Mexican women with a bunch of kids may be fat through. But young, middle class single girls(esp the white and Asian ones) are not, there's not much obesity here amongst them.

Thirdly, you have a huge culture of flaking here. And I'm not talking just girls, I'm talking everyone. Being a flake is just a natural way of life in this part of the country. The uber-casual culture here makes people lackadaisical and non-committal. Plans are often broken at whim. Many people just won't even make plans in advance incase a better option opens up later they don't want to be committed(I plead guilty to this myself many times). As one buddy of mine from Oregon jokes, "when someone in L.A. says 'yes', that means 'maybe', and when they say 'maybe' that's as good as 'no'." Luckily I have a close circle of long-time friends I can count on.

So cockfest + lots of hotties + culture of flakiness makes this I think one of the more challenging places in America to game. I think if a guy can cut it here, he can cut it anywhere.

What do you think about your city? I'd be curious to hear Mixx chime in on Miami. While it has the air of pretentiousness like L.A. and all the beautiful people, there are actually more single women there than men. That's pretty interesting. I don't know if the flaking is as bad there as here though.

Anyone here from Chicago? I've always been curious about the scene there. More girls in the ratio and the people I've met from there seem more down to earth and unpretentious. Probably a lot more fatties though.

Sad, but not surprising to see my part of the country (SF) covered in Blue. It's definitely tough to cut through the bullshit up here too, but not as bad as LA. LA has to be one of the worst areas in the country in terms of flaking and i'm sure like you said, it has something to do with the entertainment industry.

The nice thing about SF in comparison to LA is that there aren't a lot of bad ass celebrities, fighters, body builders, etc. to compete with for the best talent. Here the really wealthy people are more "local celebrities" like silicon valley tech studs mark zuck, dave mcclure, and paul graham...essentially names and faces that, if your not aware of the tech scene, you would never know (excluding zuck obviously).

These guys are SO fucking loaded its not even funny, but they don't have mainstream notoriety and to be simply honest, they're not good looking and they don't focus on gaming chicks. Guys are mostly about their money up here (or like azul mentioned, other guys) and just wait for the rest to fall into place (nice job, nice house, nice wife, nice life type-of-thing)...so while I too am about my money, I'm always confident there's a ton of women up here starved for the type of playful banter and attention needed to seal the deal.

I can concur with most of what has been said about the abundance of males on the west coast. However, based on experience living on the east coast, south, and now west coast i believe the dating scene has much more potential here. Sure there may be more guys in L.A. but many more of those guys aren't interested in females than in other cities.....if you catch my drift. Nationwide, California has the reputation of being a gay mecca, so these numbers shouldn't be that discouraging. It only states that men outnumber women by about 40,000 in a metro area of around 10 million, thats really insignificant.

And despite the 200,000 or so "surplus" women on the east coast, how many of them are under 35, don't have an "att'-itude", plus are actually bangable? Women who live in colder temperature typically don't pay as much attention to their physical fitness as someone who lives in miami or los angeles with warm weather almost year round. Trust me when you encounter enough loud,super serious, materialistic career women by comparison a hot, flaky airhead doesn't seem so bad.

If you're a young professional dude in your 20s then living in a Podunk town with a college campus is bank.

1. Quantity & Quality. Ratios are in your favour - every college campus has a surplus of women. Tons of college girls in their physical prime - younger, hotter, tighter. Many are single, lonely, and in their "experimental" phase.

2. Low Expectations. Girls expectations haven't gone up yet. For college girls, a guy with a professional job, a car, and his own pad is high-status (beats screwing in a smelly crowded dorm right?) It's only when they hit the real world that they start working on that 500 bullet-point checklist.

3. Limited competition. In the big city you're competing with REAL ballers - bankers, athletes, millionaire playboys. In a Podunk college town your competition is... Joe the Plumber and broke college kids. Remember, women are as choosy as their options. Big fish, small pond.

I live in a Podunk town with 3 big campuses within a half hour drive. I'm getting more arse now than any of my boys in the big city - or while I was in college for that matter.

I live in Chicago, but am from L.A.

Chicago Positives

1) Great place to daygame
2) Good variety of girls
3) Lots of young people

Chicago has many minuses though

1) Tons of couples here, its like bf-gf central
2) People always do shit in groups. Hard to find girls not in mixed groups at night. Too many Big-10 College networks
3) Girls have a small reality here. Met so many women who have never even left the midwest, let alone been abroad.
4) Subcultures are too tight. Hipsters dating hipsters, meatheads dating athletic yuppie girls. You rarely see crossover, which I saw and did much more of in L.A.
5) Cold as fuck for 5 months making game a hassle.

I'd say its average difficulty here.

There is another factor which is very important for Bay Area - race diversity.

Info spot on about cali and chicago.

I do a little something with flakes(that are friends, not women). Before I would call and leave a message saying if they wanted to hang out to give me a call back. Now if I call and they don't answer I make other plans. Or if they call and want to hang out later I tell them to call me later and tell me the place we will hang out at. If they don't call I know we are not hanging out. Sometimes it backfires in their face. They will call every weekend saying we are going to do something and then 3rd weekend they call and I'm busy and they are sol.

Too many options=severe flaking. You'd be surprised how easy it is to get a date in the midwest with no flaking.

Interesting point oldnemesis. Can you give some reasons why guys from India get zero attention from local women? Are there any specific drawbacks in them or is it more to do with perceptions regarding the country (low value)?

I am an Indian living in switzerland, however I go against the stereotype of typical Indian guys. I stay in shape by working out regularly in the gym, am very well groomed and have a sharp dressing sense. I also move around in the local social circle and read and travel voraciously.

However I do find that whenever I disclose that I come from India, the overall value perception goes down. To counter that, I just lie about being half American and half Spanish. This is quite easy to pull off since many people assume that I am a latino. If someone asks me about my knowledge of spanish, I just state that I grew up in the States and therefore did not get exposed to spanish at all.

p.s. Half American + Half Spanish = Maximum DHV

Dude, latinos of ANY type are DHV in switzerland as long as they dress sharp and can do some mean Salsa. The chicks fall over them faster than birdshit falls from the skies.

I know so many guys from the original Latino country (Spain) who are on a literal banging spree in my city. These guys have fu*king zero game and yet just the fact that they are latino, dress very well and dance their balls off means that they literally roll in poon.

Lausanne falls within the swiss french part of switzerland.This has both pros and cons.

Pros: the people are more relaxed, easygoing and conversation friendly as compared to the swiss german part. there is a general air of bonhomie and friendliness in Lausanne which you will not find in any city in switzerland (except maybe Luzern).

SNLs are not common, however a bang after 2-3 dates is definitely possible.

2) Lausanne first and foremost is a university town. Therefore you will find a lot of very young (20-23) swiss french girls there. Many of them are ripe for the picking. I don't really know. All the girls I asked about it typically replied with generic answers like "not my type", which is meaningless. Some also mentioned weird smell and lack of hygiene, but this is likely to be traced to specific individuals, and such individuals could be find in any group. The main reason I do not consider girls from India is because I'm not into dark skinned ladies. But this may not be the case with at least some of those chicks as they had black BFs, so I doubt it was about skin color.

Another thing is that Indian community seems to be pretty tight-knot, same as Koreans. I have never seen an Indian dude alone in the bar or club, it is always a group of them, which is typically at least three people.

My impression so far is that non-white people do much better in countries which have a large mono race population, assuming you're not from that race. The more non-white people around, the harder it seems to be. I've seen it in Thailand as well. Try Russia.

Yes sort of, I guess like any other major city there are rich dudes and ballers. I am not into the whole club scene, with bottle service crap and door policy (even though I always can bypass it). I am out in Oakville and tend to like hanging out in my area.

Then I hit Fort lauderdale (30 mins from Miami) and game on Brazilian women and Colombianas that frequent these areas. I alos travel a lot, a lot! This opens up many doors for me, and Colomba is only a short 3hr flight away.

This does seem pretty accurate. Especially about girls not coming out when it's cold outside. And the Cuban guys hitting on any fatty that walks by. All the foreign dudes I work with will ask me why I'm not going after so and so at work. I say, "Because she isn't attractive to me." And they come back with, "It's just to fuck around, it's not like you're gonna marry her." Then I show them pictures of the girls I'm working on or have already banged and they understand. But it seems like many men out here would bang just about any wale on the beach. One thing though that you kind pointed out was that in South Beach there are plenty of spots to daygame. But the weather has to be right. There's the beach, lincoln rd. all the bars with happy hour specials, and just lots of people walking around period some days. I feel the beach has some potential. Also some spots in Brickel. There are spots here and there I could see day game working in Miami. But at the same time I still haven't gotten to see much of Miami. I'm still kinda stuck here on the beach. But now I'm bankin' it, so I should have a car by Janurary.

Side note, it looks like it's saying there are way moer men in Vegas, it definitely doesn't seem that way at all. There are mad fly women all over the place in Vegas.

Where I lived in Colorado wasn't great, and all of Colorado in general seems to have many more men than women. The best place I saw was Boulder. Aspen is decent though. You have pretty good quality, but you gotta day game because some of the real hotties don't really come out at night. Aspen is a great place to daygame. People walking all over. There are always more pedestrians in town than cars.

NYC can be a goldmine. There are so many single women just wanting to get a date with a decent guy, it's ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, you do get cold dismissive bitches here and you have to have thick skin, but I think most of them just have that bitch shield up until you defrost em. I haven't tried daygame, but that might keep the guards down a bit more. I'm from Socal so I still think in terms of quality, SoCal and Miami top NYC, but the numbers are in your favor here so I think that makes up for it. You do have competition from the banker ballers but even then, there's enough to go around. Mixx definitely took advantage of NYC. It was unfortunate I was unable to join him in action.

Well with Detroit a lot of those single women are really... fat. Now this does concern me about my potential move to LA, but I'd have to wager a lot of those single dudes are in West Hollywood, and not going to be infringing on the available women (not that there's anything wrong with that). Plus there's so many damn people there that the numbers are misleading if you break them down to a % of single men vs single women.
