What did you think of this film? I thought it was terrific and dare I say red pill.

After the huge beta failure that is Don Jon, I found The Wolf of Wall Street to be a breath of fresh air. Almost every woman in the film is a sex prize, it's filled with nudity and there's even a questionable "rape scene" that has feminists steaming from the ears. As far as Hollywood goes, this is pretty damn red pill which explains why the reviews are somewhat mixed. There are even a few articles condemning the film for being anti-semetic, another no-no in Hollywood.

The film doesn't portray Leo's character in a positive light. He is way too overboard, he is a man void of self-control which turns out to be his downfall. Nevertheless the movie highlights the rewards of being an alpha male who takes what he wants, while most of the negative light is shone on the corrupt banking world. This movie will for sure be snubbed at the oscars, but I tip my hat off to Scorcese. This is a movie Spielberg would never make in his lifetime.

I liked it, but the ending scene is what does it for me.

Critics can bitch and moan all they want about the movie glorifying the lifestyle, but when it comes down to it 99.9% of us are a bunch of fucking dweebs who couldn't sell a pen if our lives depended on it.

The movie was ok.

The movie didn't really go into his "crimes" in any real detail ("pump & dump" of penny stocks, front-running, income tax evasion, etc...) and it gave a cartoonish characterization of what goes on in Wall Street that is all too common of Hollywood.

The best part of the movie is when he "upgrades" his wife from a plain-jane brunette to a smoking hot blonde.

I only saw the trailer. Leonardo Di caprio is alright in general, but the support actors seem to suck. I'm tired of watching movies with actors who are not real. They're just not credible in their roles. It worked for me when I was a kid because i had no life experience, but now I can just see through their game.

I want actors who experience life to the fullest, and who decide to take acting as a second gig rather than clean guys who go to acting school or do acting since they're young. They just suck, they bring little added value to the movies and have nothing to show me. I'd rather watch YouTube street fights and pranks where you can see real stuff happening.

Every feminist hate the movie though, so I'll probably see it.

Martin Scorsese is the man. He has been making films at the rate of one a year for the last few years and although not all his best he is still full of passion and vision. And the guy is over seventy.

Excellent movie and incredibly entertaining. Right up there with Goodfellas as Scorsese's best. Definitely red pill but in no way anti-semitic, unless showing Jewish characters in anything less than 100% flattering light is somehow considered anti-semitic. Also the main girl is this movie is unbelievably hot, basically perfect looking. Scorsese, DiCaprio and Jonah Hill all deserve Oscar nods for this one, in my opinion.

That third article actually suggests that Scorcese de-emphasized Belfort's Jewishness so as not to be anti-semitic.

I'm with Scorpion. If you haven't seen it, go see it today. Slightly beneath Goodfellas but better than Casino. Very much of a piece with those films. You'd think that since it's the third time Scorcese's making the same movie it'd get old. But knowing the template so well gives him the freedom to go crazy within each scene. The movie is three hours long. You keep waiting for it to start dragging. Waiting for the moment when Scorsese's shot his wad. It never comes. The movie just keeps going up and up and up.

And the broad-- good God, she's fucking hot. And naked constantly.

Saw the film on the Saturday. Thought at one point too damn this could be a mainstream film the manopsphere will get on board with! Many laughs and an uncompromising array of sex and drugs throughout.

I really don't get the anti semitism angle. The film features an "asshole" who also happens to be Jewish. That's it.

I've seen a lot of articles ( well, like 2) about how this movie is anti women by showing how he interacted with women and whores realistically. In other worlds, Blechdel bs. No truths, only feels

Reading the book first always murders any movie.

Was too long. Definitely some funny moments, coming home to the house full of fags having a sex party was gold.

The dutchess comes across as much more of a bitch in a book aswell.

Margot Robbie is gorgeous.

I didn't love the movie. I love coke and hookers as much as the next guy but the lack of moral commentary made it gluttonous to me.

And when he started to explain the scams but stopped and said, nahh you don't want to know that - i was pissed. Because I wanted more wall street and less wolf.

Not red pill. Every single female character important to have a name is granted moral superiority.

And there is nothing red pill about upgrading your plain-jane, but decent wife, only to have the new queen-bitch ruin your existence and jump ship as soon as things start going down hill.

The male and female lead never have sex once he marries her. While at some level, he does hold his own in their attempts to mess with each other, there is nothing red-pill about wifing up a woman, putting her up in a mansion and then having her refusing to put out.

Fun movie, lots of stuff that made me laugh my head off, great fun. But not red-pill.

Jews want all Hollywood villains to be potrayed as WASPs, Germans, Muslims, Southerners, Romans, Colonialist Europeans, Catholics and Russians which is pretty much a list of those whom Jews have had power struggles with.

Considering who controls Hollywood its understandably rare for a Jewish character to be portrayed in an unfavorable light.

There is no antisemitism in the film but that won't stop it from being branded as such.

The book is good, goes more into detail about his crimes...The whole steve madden situation etc

The movie focus heavy on the party side it was a comedy. The book gave a more why and how he did what he did view.

Excellent film though. The 3 hours flew by.

The movie is based on a true story. The point is that the depiction of reality is red pill. The movie shows the reality - first wife dumps her morality as soon as she starts living well and the second wife dumps him as soon as times get tough.

I think it could have been cut by a half hour or more. That scene where he was stoned on Qaaludes was wayy too long. A couple of other scenes had me thinking, "Yeah, Martin, I get the point, move on."

I think it's a mistake to call everything either red pill or blue pill. Wolf of Wall Street is a Scorsese movie about salesmanship, fast rises and hard falls, etc.

Belfort clearly had a lot of incredible strengths along with some serious weaknesses, though I came away from it noticing how closely linked the two can be. Great sales ability, an unusually high work ethic and a willingness to take big risks; I doubt these can really be separated from how much drug use there was. He obviously had good game but was still prone to falling into a rut in his longer term relationships where things just get more complicated and bad habits are harder to get out of. Very entertaining but I didn't see much in the way of deep insights.

And I'm with Sp5 on it being just a bit too long.
