I'm 5'8 as well.

I used to worry about my height, I actually had a thread on here when I first started on the RVF that probably made me come off as a troll.

I'll tell you this, there are disadvantages to being short(ish). But know that the biggest disadvantage is that of your limiting belief.

Nevertheless, there are some advantages of being this height for me when it comes to game:
- I blend in the crowd. I feel like I surprise girls when I approach them because they hadn't noticed me before. I surprise them because I approach confidently, and I take care of myself body wise and dress well so I'm an attractive dude.

- Although I like to be taller, being much taller than the girl is a disadvantage to me. I don't want to have to bend down to kiss her. If I was 6'2, I'd attract more girls because of my height, but I'd like to approach less because many girls are very short, and heels can only do so much.

- guys don't pick fights with me. I've been out many dozen times this past year and maybe twice was I actually close to being attacked, although it never actually happened. If I was tall, jealous guys would be more likely to try and pick fights.. Shorter guys always feel they have to prove something against the guys taller than them. My buddies who are 6'3, 6'4 get in some type of physical argument or fight at least 50% of the nights they are out, and although they don't necessarily back out of these as they should most of the time, they aren't the ones starting it either.

- girls will be more attracted to your confidence. I don't necessarily know how to explain this, but I've seen it happen.. Maybe it's because being shorter requires you to work harder to some extent, so you will build more confidence overtime? If you're tall and confident you're golden, if you're short.. that means you're gonna have to compensate somehow.

Also, remember to maximize your body. Put on some muscle and that will make your height less of a factor. Your presence is the most important thing, and confidence + size (height or muscle build) are the factors.

Need inspiration? Look at McQueen and Tom Cruise. Two of the top stars of their generations. Sure, you could say fame is part of their appeal, but they had to bust their ass to get to that point.

I don't think you can complain about height if you're 5'8 and above. A girl your size is considered a "tall girl", and a majority of girls you'll want to get with should be about around the 5'2"-5'7" range.

Im 6'7 and I see guys way shorter than me pulling girls all the time. Shorter guys tend to have way better style than me as well so it compensates. If I was under 6'0 I would make sure my style is perfect and I would talk really loud to be the dominant one in the conversation. My height and basic game is usually enough for me. And it helps if you're built well.

There is one distinct disadvantage to being tall, especially if your game isn't solid all the time. Often when I go out I fumble an approach or 2 or 4 before one sets in. The problem with this is that other girls notice this if your tall, thus lowering your value a bit in their eyes and making it harder to approach them successfully.

I'm 6'4 for the record.

I've said this before on here, but for the newbies:

If you're 5'8" or under, grow your hair. People compartmentalize people and when you have long hair and/or other hippie characteristics, they see you as "hippie guy" not "short guy." (This is one example -- I'm sure you all can think of others.)

The worst thing you can do if you're short is come off like a miniature version of a tall man. You need to redefine yourself entirely. People need to first notice something else.

The reason I know this worked was because I started college at a really short height and was "the short guy." I was only a few inches taller the next year but grew my hair. I'd moved to a new dorm, and a bunch of the girls later told me they had bets on who could meet the "new mysterious hippie" first. No mention was made of my height. It helped I always had a guitar.

In fact, the only negative element in this story is why I didn't react immediately when one of them knocked on my door asking about homework in a see through shirt and I blew her off (the homework ploy, I later learned, was part of their plan to meet me). In other words, height can be overcome but stupidity can't.

Agree 100%. I did the same, not so much because of height but because of a weak chin, and the effect is the same. It works wonders.

Grow your hair because you're 5'8? Or you can have some self esteem and not let these creepy height threads get to you.
