"A teacher lives a lonely life, all the while struggling over his son's custody. His life slowly gets better as he finds love and receives good news from his son, but his new luck is about to be brutally shattered by an innocent little lie."

Shows how easy it is for a child to lie that a guy did something inappropriate and how quickly everyone is to believe it. Granted, there are monsters out there, but lots of innocent guys get persecuted because a child imagined something that is then reinforced by the child's parents and authority figures.

As a single guy, I would not be around kids that aren't closely related to me without other adults present.

Sucks for male teachers, which drives guys out of that profession. Sucks for kids too because, for kids of single mothers who don't live near the father or prevent the father from seeing the kids, this takes away any male role models. You get boys growing up surrounded by only female adults.

Yeah Mads is a great actor. And Danish/Swedish film are amazing. Stuff that really sticks with you.

It's an excellent and I must say quite disturbing movie to watch(as a man anyway).
Mads Mikkelsen is truly brilliant in the main role, as is his son.
Probably my favourite movie of 2012.
And yes Laner, Denmark/Sweden is great for movies, 'Låt den rätte komma in' is superb.
Mifune, Festen as well.
'Elsker dig for evigt' is another good one, beautiful actress as well in this one(the blonde).
There's another Danish flick I saw a few years ago, where a family man falls in love with a women who he helps after a car crash, and leaves his family and all the resulting devastation that come with that, it's not a classic, but some of the scenes are very striking, the car crash for instance was done so well, it's shocking but not in a Hollywood way, it stayed with me for a long time.
Also, the bleakness is visceral but somehow doesn't drag you down, I don't know how do it, but the Danes and Swedes can pull off this kind of liberating bleakness, that doesn't bring you down, but still resonates with you.

Got it!, it's 'Kærlighed på film', I forgot the other elements of the story, mistaken identity, murder, etc
Definitely worth a watch, some red pill elements in this story too

This might be the best movie of 2013. Gravity is a close second.

It's on Netflix, anyone with an account MUST WATCH IT.
