I usually say, "I'm a hypnotist."
Although that is not what I do for a living, I am VERY passionate about it and goddamn good at it.

The reason I choose to say, "I'm a hypnotist," is that without fail, they start in with the, "Do me, do me. Pleeeease do me."

I made a fun habit out of this for a while. One time I had totally convinced a group of women that I was a dolphin trainer at SeaWorld and we were expanding to the local Zoo and I was here on assignment.

Nowadays I'm a bit more boring, I usually say a jokey profession and then say my real field of work, but make it sound interesting because to me, it is interesting.

Right now, my top two teachers/mentors of hypnosis are "Major" Mark Cunningham and Igor Ledochowski. Some people on this forum may know Mark Cunningham from the earlier phases of this whole "pickup" shit. No matter what one thinks of his seduction principles, techniques, etc., in the realm of hypnosis, his skills and teachings are among the elite. I've flown out and learned from both Igor Ledochowski and "Major" Mark in person.

The best beginner's home-study course on conversational hypnosis will probably be Igor Ledochowski's Power of Conversational Hypnosis. Excellent principles and techniques for working trance-inducing language patterns into your everyday conversations.

The best home study course for more "formal" hypnosis, that I've come across, is Mark Cunningham's The New Curriculum. This shit is great.
Another reason I love Mark Cunningham's shit is that he's heavy, heavy, HEAVY into the sexual, turn-her-into-your-happy-submissive-sex-slave kind of hypnosis.

One of the best books out there, if you want to get into the real nuts & bolts of how hypnosis (trance) affects the body's physiology is The Psychobiology of Mind-Body Healing: New Concepts of Therapeutic Hypnosis by Ernest L. Rossi

A few more of my favorite books that can get you headed in the right direction, as a beginner, are:
*Richard Bandler's Guide to Trance-Formation: How to Harness the Power of Hypnosis to Ignite Effortless and Lasting Change by Richard Bandler (founder of NLP)
*Monsters and Magical Sticks: There No such Thing As Hypnosis? by Steven Heller, Ph.D. & Terry Steele
*Handbook of Hypnotic Suggestions and Metaphors by D. Corydon Hammond, Ph.D

I tell the truth but keep it brief. I don't like talking about work generally, even though I'm doing what I like.

Actually, men generally should not talk about their work with women who can't help their careers, unless it helps get the bang.

The exception would be, women of high value will concomitantly place high value in a man who has a focus on his long-term career. It could be any job. Good women appreciate when a man is on his way up in his work. If she doesn't, she's not worth your time, you should not have her around as anything more than convenience sex.

I see it as more of a neutral part of getting to know a girl. So long as you aren't miserable in your job, it won't hurt your chances.

It depends on the girl. Usually I just tell the truth. But with some girls that seem like they have a bit of a checklist, I just tell them whatever I think they want to hear.

Interestingly, at times I've been unemployed and on benefits, being honest about it has rarely hurt my chances (and have even had girls offering to get me jobs etc, which I declined as I have no intentions of working in some shit job).

These days I also get asked why I don't have a car. I live very close to the city centre, with good public transport, so have never been arsed to even learn to drive. Now that I'm getting older, some girls seem to find this strange, so I just tell them I'm banned from driving.

Hmm. Interesting thread. I work as a Research Analyst for a University. How to "spice that up?" Some chicks eyes light up when I say I work at a university. But. I try to tell them the truth, but I'm purposefully vauge about it. If I'm solo gaming for the ons, I'll occasionally make some stuff up to self amuse.

I've always wondered: Does the janitor at Goldman Sachs tell everyone he works at Goldman? Probably, so no matter what you do to pump up your 'job title', it will probably still be believable. Girls will believe whatever you tell them.
