I've sold several of these to some very happy customers. Its got that raw sportiness in a very classy frame. The watch is very subtle yet the red accents catch the eye without being overpowering. The adjustable slide rule controlled by that crown you see at 8:00 is a cool little nerdy aspect. Its also one of the Eco-Drive models so it won't need a new battery for at least the next 8 years or so. Just keep it charged.

Citizen Nighthawk on Amazon At $274 on Amazon, thats a freaking steal. They retail for well over $400 at any actual store.

Macy's has them on their website for exactly $495. Im personally not a big fan of the bold series as I feel its diluted the purity of the design behind the brand, but on a younger dude this watch would be COLD.

They are so sublime and tasteful, and the best part? They can be easily found under $100! There is a reason I recommend these first. Another cool thing is that you can order all sorts of custom parts and mod them out like a car and personalize them. If you are on a budget this is undoubtedly the best choice overall. If you have more money to throw around then id mess with one of those Tissot I posted. If you wear a lot of suits/button ups/dress shirts then the Movados are the prime option, but avoid them if you are generally casual in the way you dress.

Afg, are Movado watches solid? They look good but do they hold up and feel good?

In case you were still wondering, yes and no.

In terms of craftsmanship, Movado's (for being a mass-produced watch) are stellar. This is especially evident on the models with metal bracelets. When you look at the way each link is put together and attached to the next, its nothing short of a work of art. The machining and subtle beveling and polishing that goes into the iconic "dot" at 12 is done so in such a way that it is always catching light from any direction or angle. I suspect this is why my Movado gets noticed more than when I wear much more expensive watches, like my Omega Speedmaster or Deville 18K.

In terms of toughness and durability, not so much. Putting this watch through any kind of stress or physical strain is like asking Orlando Bloom to do MMA in the heavyweight division. From the very beginning since the 1800's they were marketed as a gentlemans' watch and as such they just simply aren't meant to take abuse.

To illustrate, my favorite Movado in my collection is the Sapphire model, with an original 4-digit retail price

It had to have 2 movements replaced. That's the "engine" of the watch in case you were wondering. It got water damage because I washed my hands a bit too vigorously in the sink while it was on my wrist.
These watches aren't really meant for the rough and tumble type. And they make no claims to be. Suits and slacks are the complementary accessories to this watch.

A watch is a personal thing, and frankly, you're the one who should get satisfaction from it so if you like it and it makes you happy to put it on your wrist then buy it.

I'm not a watch guy but years ago worked for a company called Skagen. Actually pretty stylish watches, not bad pricewise can be had for under a hundred or max maybe 200 or 300. They are known for being super light weighht and not feel like your wearing a watch. I got a bunch of free watches, have since sold all on ebay but really liked them and I'm not really a watch guy
