For the last three notches I got, the coffee table books in my house helped to some degree.

I keep two books on my coffee table and they're pretty unique. I'll show them to the girl, let her open it up and since they're big and colorful I'll let her flip through the pages and show her my favorite images.

One is a book of street art from Banksy:

The last girl, I had my hand resting against her leg and as I was explaining something in the book she was looking at, she took my hand and put it on her upper thigh as I continued talking. Banged 5 minutes later.

Being that I live near a Major University, I need to buy me a couple of these to have out. Most of the girls here smoke so I bet that this would be a great tool.

What about books related to some of your uncommon passions?

In my case I´m thinking about a book with awesome underwater images, with cute turtles and stuff. Perfect excuse to talk about scuba diving trips and adventures in exotic lands.

Something interesting enough for a girl but more personal. I mean, books on dogs are cool, but if doesn´t really tell any story about you.

That's true. Why would I have a book of dogs on my coffee table. That's pretty stupid now that I think about it. Maybe a book of cool photos or art of places I've traveled, such as Brazil. Maybe a book with pictures of Czech Republic. I've never been there but my family is from there and we still have a house there(ancestors anyway).

I think the biggest thing about coffee table books is to have really interesting pictures and visuals.

I mean, they basically are giant picture books for adults. Hence why Hemingway doesn't make for good coffee table placement. There's nothing to look at but words.

The book WIA posted looks very appealing. It's unique, interesting, tons of visuals and doesn't take much effort to pick up and flip through. I think those are all the hallmarks of good coffee table books.

The niche with the dog book txtraveler posted is that it's underwater dogs. The photos are unique in that way and offer a funny/different point of view of dogs. I think maybe it's a little vanilla for me personally, or even weird in a bad way. Just my taste preference though.

A cool idea would be a big picture book of military working dogs from around the world. Different breeds, different countries with different scenes. Training, war time, bomb-sniffing dogs, etc. Different camo patterns, cultures and scenery. A mixture of "cute" and "dangerous".

Books are a distraction. If you are serious about getting laid, the only thing you should have on the coffee table is one of these and a boot heel.

Books have definitely gotten me laid wayyyyyyy more times than not. Coffee Table or otherwise.

If the girl is distracted more by some book that's lying around than your body/escalation, well.....not good. That's like saying art on the walls is a distraction. Or photos of anything. Or...pretty much anything - furniture, decor, design, architecture of the building, food/drink you have.

I love Taschen myself. They've got a lot of these artsy photo books with beautiful women.

Their art books, modern (the good kind, like pop-art) & classic, are great as well.

fuck that. Coffee table book on palm reading is the way to go.

She picks it up, you take her hand and read her palm or vice versa.

I also had one that is 'sextrology' which is like dirty zodiac signs, every chick has picked it up, read their sign and then asked 'whats your sign' and flipped to my section. Its like just flipping on a porn.

I'm curious; how many of you guys have coffeee table books out with the idea in mind that they are pussy bait vs. just have book on your coffee table that you read?

I ask because I have books on my coffee table that are relatively interesting, but they are only there because I often read them when I'm alone downstairs on my couch. I never really put a lot of thought into actually specifically having a book that makes a decent conversation piece with pictures and whatnot.

Currently I have a "Complete Works of Edgar Allen Poe" book and Volume II of "Uzumaki" a Japanese horror manga. Used to have a large red Soviet history book about the KGB.

This thread is giving me some ideas though...

This is actually a great topic because it reminds us all that getting a girl to your pad is the endgame, and having a cool/interesting place is important because A: it's an extension of your personality in a way so it's sort of a passive DHV especially if you're an interesting dude with cool passions and hobbies and B: you want to have a lot of avenues of entertainment when you have company

I have a massive gloss cocktail book.
501 cocktails.

Assuming you get the ingredients to make most of them...it's a perfect idea to have a girl bring up alcohol.

Some people hate it..But I have an iPad that was gifted to me.
It has nothing but pictures of my travels.
No games or anything. Just albums.


I'm not in the business of having a book just so girls can pick it up.
The cocktail book I bought for myself.
I could easily put random books I read, but the average girl isn't gonna be interested in most books men read.

I didn't just put that there for a photo-op it has been there for 3 weeks. (I have only been in this apartment 4 weeks) I have had girls pic it up an skim over it. I make no excuses when they ask what it is.

Although a few years ago on my flight to Asia the older lady next to me saw me reading it and said "BANG what is that about?" An without missing a beat I said "Its a novel about a bomb diffuser in NYC"
She asked me if it was any good and I told her its the best book I ever read...... she said she will have to see about ordering it when she got back home.
