Scott Adams - open for interview
Thought some of you might be interested in this. Maybe for a Return Of Kings interview?

Scott Adams (the creator of 'Dilbert') is pretty 'red pill' in terms of his views on women. And his quest for self-improvement (the subject of his latest book).

Here is a comment that got Scott in to trouble a couple of years back:

Quote:The reality is that women are treated differently by society for exactly the same reason that children and the mentally handicapped are treated differently. It’s just easier this way for everyone. You don’t argue with a four-year old about why he shouldn’t eat candy for dinner. You don’t punch a mentally handicapped guy even if he punches you first. And you don’t argue when a women tells you she’s only making 80 cents to your dollar. It’s the path of least resistance. You save your energy for more important battles. -Scott Adams

Anyway - here is his interview offer:

Quote:Next week (Dec 16 - 20) I'll be doing interviews on Skype and phone about my new book (How to Fail almost Every time and Still Win Big...).

But I'm adding a twist to the process, just to see what happens.

I'll do the interviews in the priority order of biggest reach. So if no one but a high school newspaper asks for an interview, I'll do it. For next week only, no media outlet is too small. I'll do as many as I can fit into my schedule.

If you're interested in talking to me next week (or sooner), just email me at [email protected] and tell me roughly how big your audience reach is. Send me your Skype ID and/or phone number. I'll either call you when I have a minute or email to arrange a time.

You don't even need to be a professional writer. You just need a way to distribute the interview within your company or organization.

My guess is that I'll end up talking to just about everyone who asks. I don't have an assistant answering my email. I'll read everything that comes in, but I might not be able to respond to all of it.

Perhaps I'll be speaking with you soon. This should be fun.

Paging Tuth.

I vote we contribute interview questions and have an ROK writer ask him the most popular choices.

I quite like 'Dilbert', but I really like Scott Adams.

His blog is very interesting and his latest book is great. I think most people here would enjoy it.

Here is a post I put together discussing the idea from his latest book which most people are commenting on. Later on in the thread I discuss it some more.

Yeah, I like the way Scott is doing this, its both very open minded and practical. I think RoK should try to get in on this.

RE: Scott Adams - open for interview
Scott Adams once mentioned this story in the introduction to one of his books. I would love to know if he will ever reveal more details:

Quote:Several years ago I was approached by some advisors for people in high places. I can’t give you the details of this story, or even tell you why I can’t give you the details. But the gist of it was that they needed help squelching some bad ideas that had taken hold in the public consciousness. They thought humor might be one part of the solution, and they were Dilbert fans, so they tracked me down. The challenge was that the bad ideas sounded terrific to the uninformed person. You couldn’t kill these particular bad ideas with logic because the arguments against them would be too complicated. You had to go in through the back door.

I suggested a few cleverly designed, hypnosis-inspired phrases that were the linguistic equivalent of Kung Fu. They were simple (that’s my specialty), and once you heard these phrases, they made any competing ideas seem frankly stupid. Think of Johnny Cochran’s famous refrain “If the glove doesn’t fit, you must acquit.” In my opinion, O.J. is a free man largely because of that phrase. My phrases worked the same way.

The people in high places tried my phrases. The phrases became world headlines the next day. I could tune the TV to any news channel and hear my words coming out of pundits’ mouths. The phrases smothered the competing ideas and just maybe changed the course of world events. (One can never know for sure.)

Great Scott!
I see a strong independent woman on Twitter is unimpressed with Scott Adams for introducing her to reality.

The ensuing comments are a circle jerk of entitled SJW ennui, not pretty.
