I was thinking the other day, that when you marry a woman, you are not only marrying her and her values, but also her nation and their collective values.

(This is assuming marriage of course. Marriage is not important to me but one day having children is so the same decision making applies.)

Men here often say that Asian women would make ideal wives but I was thinking about that - the women themselves perhaps but the nations? The Asian cultures? I think not.

Now don't get me wrong, some Asian cultures I love, like the Japanese for instance. BUT... would they ever accept you as one of their own?

Hell no.

How many black politicians do you see in Japanese government? Or white? Or anyone other than Japanese for that matter? In China? In Thailand? ANY Asian country! Asians are without a doubt the most racist group I can think of - they even all hate each other!

Now, it's not that we can't get along. We can. We can offer each other lots of things and share ideas and products etc but if I were to have a child with one, would I ever be truly accepted into that culture? I say no. From what I've learned about marriages in Thailand, definitely not.

So for me, Asian is off the map.

So where else? North America? From what I read on here... No. The US tax laws, the high divorce rate, the obesity, the stupidity of the children in school rankings now, the unfair divorce and asset thievery.. No way. Again, not a dis on America, I love it in many ways but for the purposes of finding a "wife"? No.

So North America off the map.

Canada? Maybe. A safe country. Amazing natural resources and open space. Great place to run and hide when the world collapses.

But most Canadian chicks I've met are either not hot or fucking dull.

Canada - maybe but unlikely.

South America - do I want my kid to be Colombian? Or Mexican? Or Venezuelan? Brazilian? Those countries all have some horrific political problems and histories - there are people living in favelas, shanty towns and no one seems to care. Huge drug cartels, gang epidemics.

I don't want my kids adopting that culture.

So no to probably all of South America.

However, Argentina, maybe. Yes they have economic problems and a history of murders and corruption in government but what saves them for me is their European heritage that they are so proud of. To me it's almost like a get-out-of-jail-free card.

The women are fucking hot and would make great, loving mothers. Terrible for gaming but excellent as wives! Loyal and would be unlikely to cheat!

Argentina - a possibility.

All of Africa - some beautiful women from that continent.

But no. Just such a completely different culture than mine, I can't see it working.

All of Africa - no.

Russia - hot as fuck women. Disaster of a nation.

Russia - no.

Eastern block countries - Hmm... not sure. Might have to give them more thought. Depends. The women seem to be stunningly hot when young then turn it sacks of spuds when they hit 30.

Eastern Europe - unlikely.

Middle East?

Nope. Iranians are cool but I don't want my kids mixed up in the problems of the region.

Whole of Middle East - doubtful.

Indian - crazy as it may seem, I might consider Indian. I admire their strong and large families. There is a close relationship with Britain. We seem to get along quite well.

India - possible at a stretch (high caste family of course!)

Europe - all in all, yes. France? Sure. Spain? Yes. Germany? Can do. Any Scandanavian country? No problem. Italy? Crazy women but doable. Swiss, sure.


I think that's the whole globe covered.

Oh, Great Britain, my own birthplace. A once mighty empire now a sad, lost, cultureless bunch of depressed morons for the most part. The women are 90% beasts. They are mostly dull. Poor education.

Britain - I don't think so.

So for me, European, maybe Argentinian, Indian, or Canadian. The last two are unlikely.

Understand, I love aspects of all cultures and nations. This is purely about my children one day.



I am curious if you fellas have ever considered things this way and what your outcome would be?

Women don't always inherit their nation's collective vices. Look for the one who've escaped them while retaining some of their culture's virtues. You'll probably find them living in countries other than their birth.
I know friends with wives from Japan, Mexico, and other countries. They all have a strong work ethic and/or are serious about child-rearing. And their kids are bright.

I'm assuming OP thinks he will be living in his wife's country, and not the other way around? If your wife comes to your country the responsibility is on her to adapt.

In many international marriages the cultures meld into one, its not like one culture is completely abolished.

As someone who wants kids and has family as a major life value, I'm glad to see this thread.

The manosphere advice on marriage is "don't... unless you want kids." But there isn't a lot out there for men who do want kids.

I would love it if someone who has personal experience here would write an ROK article. I don't have the personal experience (yet) to speak on this one, but I'm curious to hear what other (married) forum members have to add on the subject.

Maybe I haven't spent long enough in Asia (less than a year in China and Japan each), but I don't really see a problem with this.

I already assume from the beginning that these groups will never see me as Japanese or Chinese. Why is that?...well, I dunno, how about...because I'm not.

Despite having learned their languages to varying degrees and having become relatively familiar with their cultures, the fact remains I was raised in a different part of the world, with different values and a different mentality as a child. No matter how more familiar with these cultures I become I will never fool myself into thinking this is the culture of my upbringing...but here's the thing: I don't need to. I've never had a need for to be identified as the same "tribe" as those around me. As long as I can connect with people around me and relate to them on some personal level (really, people in Asian countries are not as hard to relate to as some like to claim) I don't give a shit whether they regard me as "one of them".

This was only a bit of a problem in China, where people often have this "foreigner-fetish", sometimes shamelessly humping your leg and exoticizing you wherever you go, all while baffled every time you say a word in Chinese. In Japan, on the other hand, despite almost always being the only foreign, or at least non-Asian, person in sight, I'm usually treated as normally as you can get, considering 99% of these guys never interact with non-Japanese.

How many black or white *people* do you see in these countries, at all? East Asia is not Europe or North America with their melting-pot demographics. Ride the subway or go for a walk in any major city in Germany, France, the UK, or the US and you'll see pretty much every shade of brown and beige everywhere you look dispersed between the white faces. Pretty much every wealthy Western country has a significant population of immigrants and their 2nd to 3rd generation offspring from all over the world, so it's little surprise to find some politicians in these countries who are of foreign descent.

Northeast Asia on the other hand? Unless you're in a tourist magnet area or some expat bar, you'll almost always be the only foreign face sticking out in an endless sea of locals. Compared to Europe, there simply are not many foreigners living in Asia, not to mention "Asians" of non-Asian descent. Is it really that surprising then, that you don't find Black-Japanese or White-Chinese politicians? How many are there, really?

That sounds a bit exteme. Most neighbouring countries have some bad blood between them. I mean, they've only had hundreds and hundreds of years to invade, conquer and take land from eachother. I can't say how it is in places like SEA or Korea, but I don't feel that Chinese and Japanese are significantly more racist than Americans or Europeans. They're definitely not as collectively race-obsessed as Americans. They may not have as many anti-discrimination laws (again, how many people have they had to apply them to?), but informally, some Europeans can still be just as bigoted, if not more so, than the Chinese or Japanese, when you consider how Mexicans and Muslims can be treated in the US or Eastern Europeans and (again) Muslims can be seen in Western Europe.

Again, I don't know how this will change in the long run, but I'd say that depends on what you mean by "excepted". Will they suddenly start to forget you were raised in a different culture and say "he's Japanese/Chinese/Korean now"? No, but again, you're not one of them, so why would they start to think that in the first place? However, since I'm treated pretty normally wherever I go no matter if I'm the only exotic face in sight, I don't see why this is a problem. Again, maybe my opinion will change after many years, but as long as they treat you with respect and you can get along with them, why do you need them to see you as "one of them"?

West Indian girl, and live in the islands.

Maybe a girl from a France holding and then by defacto your kids would be French. West Indian girls culturally like to take care of their men, and since everybody is from some place it's a big melting pot and there is less hang ups on being "different". You'll find Chinese, South Asian heritage, whites, blacks, and Latin all there.

I need to clear some things up.

This was not about marriage, it was about finding the mother of your children.

Of course the woman has to be screened for her own personal qualities but that is a separate issue.

My point was the culture she comes from and screening that out.

The reality of having children is, the families wants to meet each other. The child wants to know both the cultures he/she came from. I will have to enter into a relationship with her family just as she would with mine.

It is THAT that is the concern of this post.

I am currently in Thailand where every year lots of sad and desperate men come here to marry Thai women. It usually never works out well and very often ends in the man's death at the hands of her family or ex-boyfriend. A bit of an extreme example but my point is, these men are never accepted into the Thai families. They are seen as cash cows to be drained of resources and nothing else. Another example, in many African cultures, if the husband is wealthy, he is expected to provide for all the family and all the extended family. It is these sorts of cultural incompatibilities I am talking about.

Another point I forgot to mention was genetic strength. This is why I would be keen to marry a woman from another culture as it would ensure good genetics for my children, like breeding race horses, these things need to be considered!

Half European, half Thai for example, the kids look great. But do I want to be a part of Thai culture? Hell no. So off the list.

If there are aspects of a culture I can't abide by, why would I want my own lineage to bonded to that for the rest of time?

Yes, I forgot Australia and New Zealand. Lets call those two plus South Africa the Commonwealth countries.

SA - a cultural history of apartheid and rugby? Nah.

Oz - criminal genetic stock! (joke) but no, nothing really appeals to me about Australian culture (mostly the lack of it) - besides, although sexual, aren't all the women there as vulgar and man-like as North America and British women?

NZ - maybe. They seem more chilled.

But I also want to have children whose second culture has a history of greatness.

Argentina for example, for all it's faults, was once a great, great nation. I want that historical bed for my children. I think it's important for ensuring a strong identity.
