According to the article, "uptalk" is a feminine way of speaking, that takes its name from the rising intonation ("up") that many girls end sentences with. Instead of just making a declarative sentence, they will phrase everything like a question, with a rising intonation at the end.

I actually hate it because it's a subtle form of chick manipulation, in that by ending every sentence with an interrogative flavor, it forces you, the listener, to respond with fillers like, "yeah", "oh", etc.

That thing people do with the word "awkward" is really insufferable (second syllable in much higher octave). I've heard some guys do it as well. I cannot take anyone seriously if they do that.

Like the Mortal Kombat guy who says "toasty" but sounded like whoop-tee-dee in the corner when you did a special move. Annoying back then too.

AWK-WARD!

Young American females think that everything is "awkward" or "creepy" because they're socially inept and not used to normal interactions that don't involve their Iphones.

Most dudes you run into these days, especially here in PC-Land Toronto, sounds like Robert Mays in the video above, or they sound like thugs, or sometimes the worst mix of both.

Its the same thing with cell phone culture, dudes look like females obsessing on their iphones these days.

Man, good post, that host SUCKS. Now I see what you're talking about. So many strange even gay-sounding intonations, and quirky effeminate movements. Like he's been brought up on Progressive Feminist "Gender Neutral" teachings his whole life (which he likely has). He's also really giddy in a beta, athlete-worshiping sort of way.

Contrast him to the athlete who clearly is acting and speaking like a man.

DC is ground zero for this type of shit. When I first moved here, I thought every third dude I was meeting was gay. I had to completely recalibrate my gaydar.

This is how a man should sound when discussing politics:

Beta maledom and gay voice tend to go hand in hand. It's very rare to meet a guy who is overall masculine and then shock you with feminine speech patterns.

I can't remember the last guy I met through my blog who had this type of vocal inflection. In other words, if a guy isn't red pill, his chance of having gay voice goes quite high.

There's a geographical influence to these types of speech patterns.

When I lived in San Francisco, it seemed like a large percentage of guys spoke like chicks.

Even dudes I trained with, fighters for god's sake, they had this annoying inflection to their voice where everything sounded like a question even when it wasn't.

Shit drove me totally up the wall. Still does.

That seems to be the big question. My buddy's email (quoted in one of my previous posts) indicates that he seems to think that "feminized" game is on the rise. He also in his email referenced this thread, which Roosh started some time ago:

/thread-27328.html

Is this guy just a ultra-skilled beta orbiter, or is he turning these bitches out? Hard to say for sure, but some of the poses seems to suggest more than just friend zone.

My take away from all this is that:

1. I refuse to believe that women will ever be truly attracted to feminine guys.
2. However, social conditioning and culture counts for something, nevertheless. There may be borderline cases where a woman's biological inclinations may be overridden by social mores (in this case, feminized men).

Over a long enough time span, however, feminized game may indeed gain traction. But we'll all be long dead by then.

RE: More Men Are Adopting Female Speech Patterns
A big thing I've noticed, especially in the last few years, is the increased use of the phrase "I feel like..." by men.

We hear it so often from women that most don't give it a second thought. Women are ruled by their emotions, so it makes sense that they would describe their worldview in terms of feelings rather than facts.

But by prefacing a comment with "I feel like," the speaker frames the conversation in such a way that whatever content follows can't be categorized as right/wrong or correct/incorrect, because it's just how they feel.

The underlying message is, "If you disagree with what I'm saying, it's not my fault, that's just a feeling I have about it." It allows the user to frame facts as feelings, and then retreat from criticism should the other party find fault with those facts. It moves the discussion away from the rational and into the emotional.

It's become so common that I even catch myself letting it slip every now and then. I've been working at replacing it with "I think...", "I believe...", or just saying what's on my mind as if it was an indisputable fact.

I've noticed lots of aggressive dudes have high pitched voices, fighters and surfers mostly. I think it might come from being tense. Their speech patterns aren't feminine though.

Edit: WB the brunette in Tuth's video.

Men copy each other too, not just women who do that. So its definitely a cultural thing, which waxes and wanes.

But there are some other factors too..

Girls on the pill are drawn to beta men. Don't want him to run off when the body is (fake) pregnant. But its not a raw, primal sexual attraction. And if you live in a densely populated city the water system is full of estrogenic hormones from the piss of girls on it. Don't mess with hormones.

None of the guys I met who pulled ass on the regular had a feminine voice. All of the guys I know who try to do so but have a feminine voice do poorly. Uptalk is a dead giveaway of a feminine belief system and way of life. So even if girls are actually into you, despite (or because of?) your voice, you would not know what to do.

*Gets laid*

Having grown up entirely with females, it happened to be something I picked up. Hasn't held me back any. Women have asked me if I'm gay before, and I've ended up sleeping with them. Have tried a few things to alter it, but in the end, I don't think I care enough about how my voice sounds.

The flip side of this is that many girls are speaking in as low a register as possible, known as vocal fry. They still might say phrases that resemble baby talk, but now they're doing this while croaking like a frog.

So while men are speaking in a lisping high pitch, women are seeing how low they can go in an imitation of men. Foreign women are talking in a tone two octaves higher than American girls. Take these girls, who are the intellectual equivalent of a Kardashian, discuss an important subject Laugh

There's a difference between today's uptalking manginas and guys raised around women.
I know a couple guys (i'm in the Deep South) who were mama's boys who have very effeminate speaking styles, but they are hetero horndogs as they come.
I think today's speech patterns come more from pop culture/peers than family.
