If anything, this story is a fine testimonial to the idiotic concept of "romance".

It's okay to do stuff for girls that deserve it. If you're dating a girl that cooks for you and pleases you, you can make the occasional nice gesture.

However, ask yourself first, "Is this romantic?" If you can answer yes to that question, rethink whatever it is you wanted to do for her. Bring it down a few notches.

And if you find yourself in a relationship with a girl that tells you, "You're not very romantic", then by all means, keep on doing whatever it is you're doing.

Interesting observations, Im guessing you live in Auckland which is too spread out and the talent is diluted by the fat polynesian population.
I live in Dunedin which has a large student population concentrated in a small area so the talent is not to bad at all. Also the small size means you can get very good logistics with places 2mins walk away from bars & clubs. I completely agree with your binge drinking observation the girls here drink freakish amounts of alcohol, not that i’m complaining

Going to New Zealand changed my game life. I was there when The Game came out. Read it in two sittings. It was a great place to do so, because there weren't any girls around who were hot enough to be scary to approach.

My favorite ploy lifted from the book was to put the same cologne sample on both arms and make girls tell me which one they liked better.
