Did a forum search and came up with nothing. So I figured this needs its own thread.

I have it pretty much memorized now, but I looked to this chart constantly when I was reading books in which I thought the author probably had a hidden agenda(I'm very paranoid over the intentions of statist intellectuals nowadays). I also find myself using the "Appeal to Probability" fallacy too often lately. Stating shit as fact etc.

I found a podcast that I liked a while back. It's called the Schools Sucks Project, and they cover a lot of the stuff that you just posted. It's a good resource.

For practical use, if you're arguing or debating with somebody and they use one or more of these logical fallacies, the point is to know and recognize it so you can call them out on it?

Avoiding their use is obviously implied but I think 95% of people wouldn't recognize their use as being illegitimate. I know I didn't until I read the infographs and found myself surprised at how frequently I'd had them used against me, and also used them myself.

It's actually pretty common to make logical errors. Obviously the more someone is trained in logical reasoning the more likely they are to make formal errors as opposed to informal.

These are fun. If you're a student of psychology then you're familiar with a lot of these.
It's even more fun to use them in real life. I really enjoy playing devil's advocate so I
have used many of these tactics to poke holes in someone's argument and sway them
to my opinion.
