RE: Best spots in Buenos Aires to get laid
Terrazas is a good spot on Wednesdays, although it's a bit upscale (if you're into that). Pretty strict dress code. Slightly older crowd from what I remember, like 25-35 range.
For what it's worth, I had the best luck with Argentinean girls at Jet on Thursdays. Avoid Rumi like the plague. Avoid Roxy, it's full of 18 year olds and jailbait with fake ID's. Approaching there was some of the funniest shit I've ever seen in my life. Not only were these girls like 17, but they'd look at me like I had three heads because not only had they never been cold approached before, but they had never even considered it as plausible. Needless to say, Roxy sucked and I quickly left.
Pacha is good on Saturdays although very expensive (even by US standards). I brought a Brazilian home from there. Crobar is love/hate... lots of tourists, but lots of hot locals there too. Pulled a SUPER HOT Brazilian home from there once when the fucking sun was coming up. The bars in San Telmo are nice with good atmosphere for a more chill evening and a lot of outdoor Tango and jazz music playing. Pulled a Brazilian girl from there as well... Also, Club 69 on Sunday nights has a gay night, but is full of hotties. Pulled a Brazilian girl home from there as well... you're probably noticing a theme here. I fucked more Brazilians when I lived in Buenos Aires than Argentinians.
Only places I ever pulled Argentinian girls for one night stands were from Jet and Shamrock (in Recoleta). Jet is a very Western-style upscale dance club. The bouncers there are really fucking annoying, even if you offer to buy a table. You can usually get in although you have to be persistent, speak some Spanish well, and sometimes they'll charge you double cover for being gringo, even if you speak Spanish. When I lived there (6-8 months ago), it was usually worth the trouble once you got in, good quality, good ratios (which you'll discover, there are fucking dudes EVERYWHERE down there) and somewhat receptive to approaches... for Argentinean girls at least.
I did pull a local girl home from Bahrain on a Tuesday (Drum and Bass night). Although I'm 90% sure that she was an off-duty prostitute who didn't charge me. Can't recommend the venue, it's pretty seedy and in a dirty basement. And last time we went my friend had a knife pulled on him because he approached some dudes girlfriend. So yeah, prostitutes and knives, steer clear.
Shamrock in Recoleta has a lot of tourists, but it's kind of known as the spot that locals go if they specifically want to meet foreigners and Westerners. In fact, all of the bars around Recoleta are known as the hang-outs of English-speaking Argentinians who are into American/European culture. Similar to the bars in Palermo Soho, these places were the only places that I didn't get blown out constantly by local girls and had a number of very warm responses (which are rare down there). Quality is very hit and miss... but hey, drinks are cheap there and you can drink until 5AM, so have at it. If someone was going to BA for only two nights and was dying to get laid, I'd send them to the bars in Recoleta.
Like I said though, if you're there for a year, get in with some social circles and house parties ASAP. The clubs/bars are a really inefficient use of your time.
