Based on your self-description, you should do well in Jakarta. I am shorter than you and wouldn't call myself athletic, but I did alright. In Jakarta, you have to know where to go and it takes time to figure it out. What you are experiencing now seems like a combination of not knowing where to go and bad luck.

All girls I approached at X2, Dragonfly and Immigrant (when it was open) spoke at least some English, some of them spoke better English than I do. Many girls get stupid after having a few drinks (or are not that smart to begin with), but I'm guessing you're not there to have intellectual conversations.

Cigarette smoke is a bitch. There is nothing you can do about it if you are intolerant. Hit up Skye on a weekend evening (it closes at 2 am I think). It's a rooftop bar, so you won't get too much second hand smoke there.

Do you dress well when you go out? At least a nice shirt, jeans and shoes?

Are you being too forward/aggressive with girls? They are generally polite and soft over there, so too much alpha vibe may put some of them off. I'm not saying just stand there... be nice, buy them drinks if you think they're worth it, and escalate.

Finally, most of my lays from clubs came from girls who chose/pre-selected me. I had to approach and run game, but before that they either made excessive eye contact or even sent their male friends to tell me that they like me. I had little luck just walking around and approaching girls that I liked. What you want to do is to stand in a high traffic area, like at the bar at X2, look happy, smile a little and fish for eye contact. Then you can walk around a little, approach a few girls on the dance floor, talk to guys too just to be social, then again stand somewhere else near groups of cute girls.

For online game, most girls are free on weekends, so schedule 2 or 3 dates per day on Sunday: say, 2pm, 5pm and 8pm. If one date goes well, just text the others and cancel...or double down if you have time.

Hong Kong - Mini Data Seet

I stopped over in Hong Kong for one night on the way back from JKT. I know very little about the city, so take this information with a grain of salt.

Infrastructure and Transportation

I have been to many major cities around the world, including the over-hyped ones, positioned as "the best in the world". Other than Singapore, no city I've been to even holds a candle to Hong Kong when it comes to public transport and city infrastructure in general. Super comfortable and fast trains running every 10 minutes from the airport, excellent public transport, navigation and signage, taxi system, a network of overground pedestrian walkways, public escalators to get up on the hills, excellent parks, you name it. Unlike Jakarta, the city is great for walking, has very interesting architecture - colonial and modern - as well as great bars and restaurants.

Accomodation

Expensive. You want to stay on the Hong Kong Island or in Kowlooon, close to the Metro. I stayed at the Sheraton Kowloon which was fine, though pretty far from the party places.

Sightseeing

Check out Wikitravel or your guide book, but basically I just walked down the Avenue of Stars in Kowloon from my hotel, then took the Star Ferry to Hong Kong Island, then walked a few blocks to the Public Escalator and spent a few hours exploring the streets up in the hills, full of little restaurants, bars and shops (Hollywood Rd and up). I had less than a day for sightseeing, so only scratched the surface. Waterfront parks on both sides (Hong Kong and Kowloon) are very nice.

Nightlife

On Saturday night, I took a taxi to a neighborhood called Lan Kwai Fong. It is closed for traffic and has a lot of bars, lounges, clubs and places to buy drinks and grab a bite. For those on a budget, street drinking is allowed and widely accepted. Smoking inside is not allowed, but many people smoke on the street. I read that some clubs have strict doors so I choose a medium sized bar/lounge with a DJ, opposite Hard Rock Cafe, and spent most of the night there.

Girls

A lot of hot girls out there at night, definitely on par with Jakarta nightlife, perhaps even better. Didn't really notice any significant amount of fatties or uglies. The girls dress well, so do the guys. A lot more white girls and guys compared to Jakarta.

At the club, I approached a few girls and didn't notice any bitchiness. Most of them would at least make a conversation with me even if they didn't want to take the interaction any further. Like I mentioned before, I picked up a girl at the club who was super horny and super friendly, so my impression of the city may be somewhat distorted by that experience.

It's hard to assess the "sexual marketplace" of the city if you're just there for 24 hours, but my hunch is that the balance in Hong Kong in somewhere between the West and countries like Thailand and Indonesia, probably closer to the latter. I have seen hot Asian girls walking around with older white dudes, busted white dudes and even a couple of IRTs

On a Sunday, all the Filipina maids get a day off and come out in the open. I walked past crowds of them on Hong Kong Island near the main station and was annoyed, because there were so many of them that it was very hard to get through. I've never been to the Philippines, but in Hong Kong I saw perhaps 200 maids on that day, and only a few of them looked somewhat attractive to me. I understand that many girls in the Philippines may look better, but still. If guess if nothing else works and you are there on a Sunday, it should be pretty easy to run street game on them and invite one or two to your place for a little party. I've seen some of them drinking beer in the street and just looking kind of bored, so why not bring some fun to their lives.

Conclusion

My general impression of the city is positive, and I would even consider staying there for awhile, but only if I was offered a high paying job.

I travel to HKG a lot with my work. I Absoloutely love the place. On this site it's very difficult to know what ability every user has, ie looks,game etc. If I am honest I would say I am about a 4 lolol and do not have that much game neither. However. I do very well in HKG. I have found my niche with bored Filipino maids and also have chatted to many Indonesian maids. Yet to gain my Indo flag but hopefully next week will be able to in JKT. Great datasheet by the way Brodiaga. Online game has worked well for me in HKG. The only problem is that the girls work everyday apart from Sundays and they are usually living under a curfew. Send loads of messages saying hi and the response rate I would say is about 80%. If you are there on a Sunday then just go for a walk around Victoria Park. The place is packed with bored maids. Nightlife wise, I recommend starting in LKF. There are many cool bars above the main strip in the mid levels. Great places for a date etc. Around 2 30 am head down to Wanchai. Loads of hookers down there but I did shore one once. Dusk till dawn is usually a good place to finish up. Loads of pissed up fellow Crew and a few locals into the mix. I wouldn't say its a mecca like MNL but it's a good night if you can ignore some of the special Westerners there. Hope this info helps.

Btw, Soma, it was your Jakarta datasheet that prompted me to go there in the first place. I was only going to stay there for about a week during my first trip but ended up changing my flight and staying almost 2 weeks first time and coming back for more.

Jakarta was frustrating on day 1 & 2 for me too. But you can dial it in quickly. Here's what I did.

I only did mall game and online. Only Stadium was open the night I was out and it was as bad as it gets.

I outlined some apps for online game in the other datasheet thread. Use them and schedule dates FRi-Sun.

Hit the malls and Skye.

I have no plans on visiting clubs the next time I'm there - some of the girls I chatted with a couple of months ago (but never met) I have already scheduled dates for this time. Let's see if they show up.

As for online game - I always request 'live pics'. Many online pictures had too much work done to them so I always request pics with 'what are you doing - want to see how you look like today'. Most send some selfies. I ask again next day - if they never send anything I won't set up a date.

I also use mostly Line/Wechat and categorize by Source/location/rating. I.e. Neno Ti CGK 6.5.

This helps me set up the priority dates and schedule backup dates around it. What I had to learn is that a date usually means putting out in Indonesia (Thailand and Philippines as well) not just talk and drink.

As far as I know, the Chinese were discouraged from learning and speaking their language in Indonesia. The Chinese girl I met in Jakarta didn't speak any Mandarin (or Cantonese).

I dress better than the average guy. Well fitting jeans, stylish sneakers, and a custom tailored shirt. I tend to be aggressive, but when I'm in Asia I tone it down a bit. I think if I had another week in Jakarta I would be able to dial it in. My last night was a bust... there were torrential downpours of rain so I decided to just stay in. I did not get laid in Jakarta. Though this story doesn't end badly...

I'm in Bali now, I arrived yesterday. I went out to Sky Garden. I saw a cute 22 year old light skinned Indonesian chick sitting by the bar. I found out she was from Jakarta. I ended up taking her back to my hotel later that night and stuffing my western sized dick into her Asian sized vagina.

I actually can see what the hype is about Indonesian chicks. This girl literally blew me for a solid 20 minutes and was very serious about making me finish. Her accent was cool too, unlike 99% of Asian chicks I've ever met.

I think I'll stay in Bali for the rest of my time here. There aren't as many hot Indonesian chicks, but there are lots of hot white girls, and now I'm sort of intent on banging a Balinese chick. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be returning to Jakarta unless they build a public transportation system. Someone told me that in 1 month they'll start building a subway transit system, but that it won't be ready for another 5 years.

I'll probably split the next trip to Indonesia between Jakarta and Bali (most likely Seminyak, not Kuta). Even though the general consensus on RVF is that it's easier to get laid in Jakarta and the girls are better, I found that the difference, whatever it is, doesn't justify spending the entire vacation in a huge city without public transport or anything else to do other than clubbing and chasing girls.

Besides, I was disappointed with the number of bule guys at the most popular night clubs in Jakarta and expect it to get worse.

Your location is excellent. If Club Immigrant in Plaza Indo opens after renovation by the time you arrive, you're pretty much all set even if you don't leave your neighborhood. Lots of nice restaurants, bars and coffee shops in Grand Indo and Plaza Indo, then there's Skye and Social House in Grand Indo if you like high end bars. There's also Thamrin Terrace where the restaurants are nothing special, but it's very close to your place if you're staying in Thamrin City. X2 and Dragonfly clubs are a short taxi ride away. Damn, I miss that place.

Yes after i read your travel experience i was thinking about other condo but for few more euro i guess it worth to stay in central area and it helps to don t waste your time in trafic jam and stuff ... (Bangkok already killed me for that... And Manila finished me =/ )...

I also heard about renovation in Immigrant i have no idea when it will end ... I hope it will be over by the end of the month !

I will arrive in Jakarta round 9am so time to get to my condo and chill out and rest a bit at pool and visit around i will be ready to take few drink in Skye and go to immigrant or plan B Social House.

I also dig a lot in DIA and Okcupid so i plan to meet some indo girl (well two on day time and night time) on pool date on first day ... I think it will be cool
to relax and chill out.

I'm hesiting to try your plan in grand indo and instant date haha i won t be as much confy as u were i guess but who know i will try ? And i guess in club it will be easier to talk !

Oh no ... Immigrant: Still under renovation but we can expect great parties as soon as it reopens in June.... I guess i won t have the chance to go there in my trip oh well there is plenty of other club

Where do you advice me to go on week day ? I guess it doesn t worth it to go before midnight...

Stadium: Used to be number 1. Maybe I'm getting too old for this now. The music is still great but the place could use a refurbishment as it is starting to look old.

I'm already 30's so i don t know if i will be too old for Stadium (not crowded on week day i m sure ... oups !)

Golden Crown: Most popular club in North Jakarta, it is not for everybody as there are many prostitutes and drugs. Full every night of the week.

I guess if every other place are empty i will try there ... But on the first time i will be too dead to try ... So it will be Skye and Social house if i can find some vodka redbull

Second day i will try Dragonfly or Red Square or X2 i don t know yet which one is the closest one from Thamrin City.

Just read my two posts about nightlife earlier in this topic as well as Perspective's data sheet and what other people shared on the subject.

Jakarta 100 bars is a good source, but it seems a little out of date.

Don't want to repeat myself here, but basically X2 is my favorite club by far.

Both X2 and Red Square are in the Senayan complex, 5 minutes walk from each other. Red Square is known to be full of hookers, though. I walked in a couple of times and didn't bother to stay.

Dragonfly is worth checking out, but the girls are stuck up by Indonesian standards. Don't get me wrong, If I could teleport to that club now, I would pay hundreds of $ to do that and still be able to pull despite the bitch shields.

Stadium is just shit, in my opinion. It'll probably be crowded during the week, and you're not too old in your 30s to go there, but don't waste your time unless you really, really know where to go and what to do in that club (I don't).

Clubs start getting busy around midnight. Probably worth going a little earlier on busy nights. Pre-drink (both alcohol and water) before going, because you'll be paying through the nose for drinks inside the clubs.

Day game: can you meet girls for insta-dates at the malls? Depends on your level of game. I've never done it in Jakarta, didn't even day game that much, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. I still think the best bet is online. Consider investing in a one month membership on Indonesian Cupid. A lot more girls than on DIA and OKC, especially if you're going to other cities as well.

Although Stadium doesn't seem like a very good place, I suggest spending a night clubbing around Glodok/Mangga Besar. It has an interesting atmosphere with a ton of food and clubs to check out in one area and lots of people.

X2 is cool but kind of isolated. There's not much more than a 7-11 and McD nearby. Red Square is across the street but it's not very good.

Around Glodok/Mangga Besar you have Sydney 2000, Siera, Mille's, Illigals, Sun City, Stadium, and more. Of these, I've only been to Sun City and Stadium. Siera and Mille's are at Plaza Lokasari. Sun City and Sydney 2000 are at Glodok LTC.

The taxi should know that area but you might have trouble finding the clubs if you're just walking around randomly, so I guess it would be better to tell him the name of the club you want to go.

Yeah, you shouldn't have trouble buying alcohol at anytime outside of Ramadan. Sounds good, I'll probably join.

I'm curious as to how Jakarta compares to Manila when it comes to girls' quality and easiness. Somebody mentioned in this thread that Manila is better, and that's the impression I get from reading the Philippines threads, but I've never been to the Philippines.

In my experience the Philippines is even easier (not that Jakarta is difficult in any way). The girls are hotter in Jakarta compared to Manila but you can find 7+ in Manila too. It takes more effort though there.

Well since i'm here i didn't spend much on my experience so it's my turn to share some.

I have been in Thailand (7 times from now as i can remember) the longest time i stayed there for 3 month and i was hmm 25 that was one of the best time of my life so far .

I can speak thai (basics) and it opens door like never believe me !

Then i have been to Japan, Singapor, Philipinnes, China, and Taiwan.

I have been to Manila, Borocay, Puerto galera (puerto princessa was canceled due to the storm who killed lot of people end of 2012 (RIP)).

I stayed for over 3 weeks there and CS helped me a lot in this trip ! I had one of my best time there for parties and CS is very developped there.

In Phil u can see the excitation about Christmas even in october as local told me and it s true.

Manila Report :

This city is really amazing u can have the most poverty (well i kinda have been chocked by babies walking near the garbage) and very rich area. It's mall city u can find it almost everywhere ... There is few sightseeing place and the only thing interesting there is nightlife (As jakarta i think)

Party :

I had the change to meet a on CS a guy who was working for a local travelling magazine so he showed me the 2 tops nightclub in Manila.
As i can remember name of those club was :

In Greenbelt there is some bar after 10pm for expat and local people but i didn't like it much. Expat wasn t really friendly (that's maybe because i was wearing tourist close haha).

For girls it got almost all my date from DIA and met them in malls. It was more easier for me than disco at this time i wasn t so confy than now.

Borocay : It s look like phuket but it s more nicer and club/bar are very nice in this island. I recommand you to try it if u go there in a near future. But the bad part about club is there is almost only working girl .. So i suggest u to insta date in mall there. I didn't get anything there just party hard with friend and did pub crawl.

Puerto Galera : Is ok for 2 days max (i would compare this island with Koh Samet) but i might have been there on the wrong period of the year.

Girls in general : There are the most friendly and nice girl i have ever seen on earth so far, very gentle, open, and they will always try to help you. Their english is perfect (better than mine so far haha) and i think it s easy to get something in club but most of girls i have seens where with some group. I did regret to not try for it but .. oh well i will try next time and of course in Jakarta

I was thinking to go there this year but finaly i wanted to try another country in Asia so i did pick up Indonesia so with your post and comment it will me a lot to party there : ).

I think my trip would be different if i had the chance to know this forum earlier... Oh well that's life !

After Jakarta i will be able to see what's the best between Thailand, Phil or Indonesia but so far for me Thailand is the best for party, food, people, easy transportation .. Well almost easy for everything ! I never get bored of this amazing country. And philipinne i still have a lot to visit over there so i think next time i will dig some intel before going there.

After spending 2 1/2 weeks in Jakarta I can give some brief cliff notes. WeChat phone app works like a charm, I believe there was a thread made about using this app in China. There were tons of girls on there, just search for people around me and drop a hello, it will take you places. Only weird thing about WeChat was I had so many dudes messaging me. Best place to use WeChat was in the malls. Also I found if I needed to get around during rush hour the motorbike taxis worked like a charm swerving through traffic etc, only drawback is your open to the elements, I got soaked from the rain when it came out of nowhere.

Clubs:
Emprica- Tons of hot chicks but they were all rolling in big groups, layout of the club is massive did not have a intimate vibe at all.
Club 999- This club was in Kemang, it was full of all locals and very receptive, I went there twice one time the place was jumping the other time it was dead.
Dragonfly- After going here four times I still can't make my decision on this place if I love it or hate it. It's worth a try to check out, Friday nights seemed like it had a better vibe as opposed to Saturday night.
Immigrant- This is my old stomping ground, was kind of chocked when I found it was closed due to renovations should be opening up soon.
X2- I have never seen so many foreigners before in one place in Jakarta, this was the one bar I could never catch a break in Jakarta. I have heard many success stories here but I struck out every time I went there.
Blowfish- was a weird techno hipster bar, if that's your thing go for it.
Beer Garden- I enjoyed going to this place on Monday- Tuesday nights nice place to relax have a beer and usually there would be office girls winding down too.
