I find it astonishing that the irony of having a so-called journalism student call for suppressing my constitutional right to free speech is lost on these people. So, if I have it correctly, this girl believes in freedom of expression--just as long as it doesn't hurt her personal, privileged feelings.

This is a great idea. Kickstarter doesn't have much accountability (consider the woman who did the "feminist tropes in video games" fundraiser and sat on the money for a year, while failing to disclose that she was a paid consultant for EA - a maker of the games she was supposed to be reviewing).

You could easily do this if you execute fast, well, and make sure to get it reblogged by the haters.

This is how the most high profile non-profits work. For-profit does the fundraising and takes a huge cut. In some instances, over 100%. This dwarfs any non-profits' CEO's six or seven figure salary.

Political fundraising is similar. Consultants and for-profits pocket their share. The more you promote the candidate, the more people donate money, the more you spend on the campaign, the bigger your end take is. And the loop keeps going until the end. Candidates get national publicity at donor's expense allowing them to sell books and charge expensive public speaking fees even after losing. And when they drop out, they solicit funds for other candidates using their donor list and keep a cut.

I fully agree, AnonymousBosch is definitely one of the best posters on this forum, and I would say Days of broken arrows has done a great job on this thread as well, among several other guys.

Obviously I don't agree 100% with everything anyone writes but honestly most of time I don't even post on threads because other guys already said everything I wanted to say in a much more intelligent, thorough, structured and clear way than I possibly could.

The eating disorders response is the result of an oversensitivity bubble-- a widely held moral fashion that nobody ever cared about challenging before. I would like to see a follow-up article, part 2 if you will, that lists the top 5 eating disorders and rates them out of 10, with pros and cons for each one. Obviously with obesity, the cons far outweigh the pros, but with say anorexia, there are far more pros than cons etc.
