Gotta hand it to Roosh, it was well-done though. Had me laughing but at the same time he said it so dryly it was sowing just a little doubt in the back of the mind... If you've travelled you know those re-entrance interviews are rather unpleasant (dare I use the c-word...), even if you visit ordinary places like Western Europe. (This is on purpose of course as they are trying to make you uncomfortable and watch your reaction.) I can guess that if you spend extended time in Russia or somewhere similar it's only going to be worse.

I wouldn't doubt that if someone decided to act like a real wise-ass with the interviewer they could end up in a bad situation...

And what about my second point about all of us being locked up in 5 years? I agree that also that point may have been a dryly delivered joke, too. Any thoughts?

Your comment in bold is a little bit "nasty," but NO problem, I do NOT take the comment personally. I recognize that you are just making a point.

It is true that sometimes certain guys will NOT get certain jokes, especially if guys do NOT know the joke-teller very well.. and what is funny to some people may NOT be taken the same way or understood by others, in part based on familiarity with the style of that person making the comment.

NOW that I understand both of these points as jokes and/or sarcasm, I find them to be funny - especially since they were delivered in a believable manner.

Also, frequently, jokes tend to be somewhat more funny when they have some truth to them and the jokes play upon those underlying truths. In this regard, there are a LOT of bullshit things that various govt's are doing, including the USA... and really, in recent times, it has been difficult to keep track of some of the low levels that the USA govt goes in various circles in the interest of National security or various kinds of targeting of individuals both internationally and soon increasing domestically... including internet surveillance, financial reporting requirements for US citizen's living abroad and drones.

These changes to our relationship with the state remain real and covert and ongoing in a state of flux that is largely moving towards less and less freedom of movement/privacy. IN that regard, I do NOT put certain things past governments to be carrying out - though this is getting into a much deeper topic, and seemingly beyond more general themes of this thread.
