One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - Ken Kesey.

I had always wanted to read this book after learning what the subtext is about. Despite being set in a mental institution its about a man's man being knocked down in an environment of female control. Its very funny and nostalgic to me as the main protagonist is an logger and the personality is done very well. The author researched logging culture while living in Oregon, for this book and for "Sometimes a Great Notion"

I read/an still reading the hidden Europe book.
I got tipped off about it from a forum member.
This book is actually long as with lots history mixed with personal story.
It'll take me a while to finish. I spent a long time selectively reading the chapters I want.instead of in order.

It's about a guy who spent years traveling around eastern Europe , getting know the people and culture individual countries


I didn't really follow this thread..there are some good book ideas.
Does anyone know a thread about being more productive as a reader.
One got like 170 books on my kindle. A lot of them read..but I tend to find a bunch of books..download them and never get around to reading them..i already have like a14 backlog from last 3 months..between being busy and a lazy Fuck..i haven't read them

Of course. Rommel was an opportunist, more out of necessity (Since his commanders in chief always supplied him with beyond sufficient supplies and logistics), but also staunch believer in doctrine "attack is the best defense", which i still believe is the principal and immutable law of successful conventional military strategy. Therefore, he always desired initiative, and provided it eve when he had no choice but to defend.

Starship Troopers

I have been reading it because the author was claimed to be a libertarian, and I thought the book was too. It kind of is, however it turned out to be more interesting than I expected. Many people have called it fascist due to its military-heavy culture, but that is just reflective of idiots not knowing what fascism is. It follows the military career of a young man who joins up to become a mobile infantryman in a future world. They are deployed in these crazy powersuits as supercommandos. The government appears to be very limited, mostly to just military, and there is condemnation of marxism and democracy. The only people who can vote are those who are veterans, and the reason that this is done is very compelling as a hypothesis for how to establish governance. The book is bizarre and choppy at parts and assumes the reader is familiar with phrases that they cannot possibly be familiar with, and then goes back to explain them later (usually).

Just Finished Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth

I thought it was a great book, the first 25% of the book, from his childhood to meeting Cuz D'amato and becoming the heavyweight champion of the world, is one of the greatest fighting stories I've ever come across. From then on it's about his self destructive tendencies, drug use and womanizing. It's crazy how intensely dishonest and disloyal the women he encountered were. I'd recommend this book.

I'm currently reading Ape and Essence by Aldous Huxley. Slow start so far, but a review on the back of the book made me want to start reading it.

Toxic Parents, I often skeptical about books written by women and there are some parts I don't really agree with but it helps me understand some of the roots of problems, like the fear of success by having perfectionist parents.

Also I've realized toxic parents are the norm, good parents are the exceptions everywhere.

Finished "Getting Things Done" by David Allen. Been working on implementing GTD for about 3 weeks now.

Currently reading "A Gentle Introduction To Unqualified Reservations" by Mencius Moldbug as casual reading.

Regarding game I'm reading books about "vulnerability game" / "being yourself game". They are:
"Seduction Community Sucks" and "Endgame" by Leigh Louey-Gung (LoGun). And "Models - Attracht Women Through Honesty" by Mark Manson.

Reading Outliers by Gladwell. Enjoying it a lot. Used to read a lot when I was younger, starting to pick it back up. Next up is Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.. Interested to see how I like that one. Only read one other finance related book before, The Wealthy Barber Returns. That was decent.. Basically an updated version of the original(so I hear).

I am re-reading Mastery by Robert Greene. It's very good. I have basically followed his advice before he gave it. Fuck around in your twenties trying different things to get a better idea of what you're meant to do, and fail a lot. Failure in your twenties is good - success too early is actually a curse, for we do not learn how to adjust for the setbacks that inevitably come. If success comes too early, it will catch up to you later on and eventually those who had a lot of failure early on will surpass you.

Then start to acquire your deep learning in your thirties or forties in whatever you were meant to do.
