Reinvent Yourself by James Altucher. He's one of my favorite writers to read, so seeing this book published unannounced recently was like Christmas for me. It's very well-written and full of original ideas. Also goes into a lot of stories/lessons from his podcast, which I find really beneficial.

if you have not already read it, you should get "Choose Yourself" by Altucher. Very good book about current technology allowing one to bypass filters. For example, authors can self-publish, musicians can make more money from youtube than a record label. Also about eliminating self-limiting thinking.

Tools of Titans by Tim Ferris - chipping away at it, one chapter a day. Picked up lots of little "life hacks" so far

Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky - been reading this for 1 year now. I find it long winded and filled with too much dialogue, but it's a "classic" so I'm persevering to finish it. Plus it gives me something to talk about with Russia chicks.

#AskGaryVee by Gary Vaynerchuk - really great Q&A book filled with insights into business, entrepreneurship, and how to use social media for marketing.

Nice, I was compelled to pick up a physical copy of it to have by my side when I found out General Mattis carried it throughout his deployments. So it must be good, useful even, very interesting philosophy! Simple to pick up and read a "book" of Marcus Aurelius' thoughts per day - which is what I'm doing now.

Besides Meditations, I'm currently reading Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy, a western novel, widely considered to be an american classic. I really enjoy McCarthy's prose from reading The Road a few years back, so I thought I pick this up on my phone reader. It's great, I love the grim wild west setting reminds me of Red Dead Redemption video game.


Also reading Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich, kind of late to the game on this one, it's cool but I haven't gotten back to it in a while. It is always lauded as one of the best self-help books out there, figured I needed some inspiration as of late.

I hesitate to pick one from a non-vetted ExYu author due to a probable bias towards the country he's from and a country his own fought against.

Besides that I'm reading, for the second time, How to Win Friends and Influence People by Carnegie and am listening to the audiobook Presence by the woman who gave the famous TED talk about power postures.

Good books, both of them.

Currently reading 1984. It's in a book that also has Animal Farm which is an excellent story. I knew as soon as I finished it, why they don't have children read Animal Farm in schools.

Sorry for the late reply. The book is called Slobodan Milošević - anatomija zločina, Dušan Viro is the author, and it's written in Croatian.

So far I'm impressed - the author is objective and unbiased. Recently I've read the biography of Putin, which was written by a NYT correspondent who was somewhat biased in his way of writing. You'll find no such bias here. Also, the volume of information the book provides both on Milošević and on the fall of Yugoslavia is awesome; it truly gives you an insight into Milošević's mind and his way of thinking. A special feature is the appendix, which contains roughly 300 pages of authentic transcripts of his private phone calls between 1995 and 1998, which were eavesdropped by the Croatian intelligence service.

I understand what you mean. You may think I'm biased since I'm from Croatia (and I won't mind), but I have to say this: The problem is, during the 1990s in the West, the Yugoslav Wars were always portrayed as some kind of tribal conflict between savages who just enjoy killing each other. That viewpoint was very far from the truth, but unfortunately it took roots.

That's why when you read a modern recount of the Yugoslav Wars, you instinctively get a feeling it has an anti-Serb bias (and some of them really do have, I won't question that). You can't comprehend a sociopath like Milošević could exist, let alone hold power in civilized Europe, and you can't believe the Serbs really perpetrated the majority of all those horrors you read about. I'd have the same opinion if I didn't know firsthand.

^ All politicians are sociopaths. Milosevic and the Serbs were singled out however as the primary aggressors. I just don't buy that an Orthodox people like the Serbs would start committing atrocities UNLESS they were being provoked, which from my research I suspect is the case (and is often with Muslim populations).
