So...I think on some level we knew this was happening but the scale is a bit staggering...

Ashley Madison employee says she created over 1,000 fake profiles for the dating site



A few choice quotes:

"She was soon asked to create 1,000 “fake female profiles” meant to lure men to the new Brazilian Ashley Madison site — and given only three weeks to complete the work, the document alleges."

"The purpose of these profiles is to entice paying heterosexual male members to join and spend money on the website"

Most of the forum members are getting laid for free and these guys are paying not to get laid by a fake person.

Holy shit. If she worked 20 out of 21 days, that would mean 50 profiles a day. Even is she was lifting the pics off of POF, OKCupid, and whatever free dating sites she had access to. And then either copy and pasting the self-descriptions, or just leaving that part barely filled in, that is a massive amount of work.
