Being in DC, I've noticed there is a fine line that separates actual hookers from the "kept" women that powerful DC men often pair off with. It's almost more like they're exchanging commodities than marrying.

So this makes sense in a weird way.

I once saw ad advertisement for what seemed like a semi-call-girl situation on Craiglist DC. I went undercover and found...it was one of the social-scene-party women -- very upper crust -- and friends with several of my DC Facebook friends (all women from the same party scene). I wonder if she ever found the sugar daddy she was seeking.

If we scroll back in history far enough, is there some antecedent for this, like the king who had concubines or something? In that light in makes sense, sort of. Considering American divorce laws, this is insanity, but he probably grew up super rich and could care less about massive alimony, etc.

Precisely.
No incentive to behave, and no sanction for misbehavior, makes for a toxic mix.

That's why this culture is in the straits that it's in now. Because when female behavior becomes totally unrestricted, the sexual impulse rages out of control.

This is why healthy societies from the beginning of time have tried to find ways of gently keeping female lust and promiscuity within certain bounds. When the bonds become loosened, all hell breaks loose. It's just human nature.

The sexual impulse is a river of fire in youth, and unless it is kept in check one way or another (though family restrains, moral codes, religious rules, etc), chaos is going to happen.

Guys here have basically thrown in the towel, and are willing to settle on anything with two tits and a heartbeat.
