What's your guys' take on soliciting a number on Facebook? I met this girl through my buddy's girlfriend the other night and we hit it off and chatted for about a hour or so. She had to leave in a hurry and I was engaged in conversation with an old friend so I wasn't able to get her number before she left.

However, the next day, we did link up on Facebook. I feel like there's some potential here but I need to know the best way to proceed. Being that I NEVER use Facebook to pick up women, is there something I should know about it? do's/dont's? should I go direct and send a message like "hey it was good meeting you the other night, we should hang out again sometime...." and go from there?

What do you mean you linked up on facbeook? She friend-requested you?

...If that's that's the case, there's nothing wrong with messaging and asking her for her number, since you guys didn't get a chance to exchange info when she left.

Tell her "nice meeting you the other night, didn't get a chance to exchange numbers' ... or write exactly what you said, just make sure you continue the convo via text or over the phone if you prefer calling girls...chatting on fb is kinda middle school and probably won't go anywhere.

I think you're over analyzing using fb to 'solicit' her number. Ask for her number, and then ask her to hang out. simple.

^^^ this. since you guys met up with friends and you are not randomly FB stalking her you should just ask her a simple question like 'hey it was great to meet you, want to grab a drink sometime?' keep it simple, light & fun. I mean thats really all it is right now, right? In the future dont connect on Facebook, just get the number. If she doesn't give you her number you will want to unfriend her, and you probably should.

I would straight up say 'hey whats your number' keep it simple, get the number , try not to start a fb chat conversation and then proceed with your game.
