Kanye West is brilliant. Pop stars of his scale used to be non-conformist and edgy. Whether it was David Bowie being sexually ambiguous (when that was still taboo) in the 70s, heavy metal in the 80s, NWA, or Eminem before he became what he hated. What Kanye doing has the potential to be seismic, as people like the aforementioned Eminem, as well as Jay Z etc are not going to disown Kanye as one of their own.
