The checkmark means that when someone is retweeting him, they know they're retweeting the actual Mike Cernovich. Or if you see a tweet that says it's from Cernovich, the checkmark confirms that it's from THE Cernovich. There are lots of fake and parody accounts out there for public figures.

There are also some user features that are affected. I think you can restrict your timeline to show only verified users; and verified users can see their mentions from other verified users. In a recent Periscope, Mike talks about how this is useful if you get a lot of mentions.

Mike said that about a 1/4th of his twitter DMs are spam from Hillary SuperPAC paid correct the record shills. Whenever he tweets something and you look at the replies you have a few dummy accounts run by the same people posting snark. It's like clockwork.

Mike says traditional TV is dead, and I agree. In his last periscope he said that he would have the number one cable news show if he was given the platform. But, as you can see with his appearance on RedEye, the news doesn't want his appeal. They don't want interesting people like Mike on their shows, taking up their time. The news, as Mike says, is only meant to perpetuate the narrative.

Every single hashtag Mike promotes in his periscopes (which are wonderful by the way) trends. Some of them even make it to the #1 spot. Mike drove the "hackinghillary" hashtag and now Trump is even tweeting about it. Trump has to be aware of him. We've really made it, y'all. And I think our side, the truth, is going to keep going up.

What Mike is doing with Periscope and Twitter is so incredibly newsworthy it's obvious the news is turning an intentional blind eye to his outreach. Imagine if some random college girl was driving trending twitter news with a fucking computer and an iphone for Hillary Clinton. She'd be CNN's darling within the next day.

Its amazing how easily Mike is changing the game. He just goes on Periscope, chooses a hashtag and a few minutes later its trending worldwide.

Meanwhile, journalists slave away for years 'doing everything right' and yet they're still a nobody. Clearly Mike is a different breed.

Its no coincidence he is a master on mindset...

I'm glad he was a part of this forum and that I have been reading him for so long. I've learned so much for him. Simply watching his behavior on Twitter has changed the trajectory of my outlook on life.

^^totally agree and can't believe the stuff mike's been doing isn't talked about more often on here.

The man has given us a live case study in how to create a multi-million dollar brand, build a massive following, promote an authentic message, aggressively attack enemies, and influence a goddamn presidential election.

He's a warrior and its definitely an inspiration. To be fair, he makes it look easy, when he's actually busting his ass and risking his lifestyle (or even his life) by calling out the Clinton's on a daily basis,

I couldn't find a "I wanna be like Quintus" video but Mike and Quintus are my two role models. Mike is the motivation and Quint is the kick in the pants.

Mike is starting a decentralized news network even if he doesn't know it.

He should start "DNN" - Decentralized News Network. It could be as simple as a blog that takes the top 10 news worthy periscopes from a week and puts them in one place.
