In Thailand, I'm currently seeing 2 single mothers. It's pretty common here. The one who has her kid with her is less clingy but the one whose mother looks after her kid in her home town is uber suspicious and jealous.

Ultimately, the best reason to date a single mother is that it is the ultimate get-out clause when you want to dump her -

"What, you thought I was going to marry you/stay with you long term? You have another man's child."

One of these girls is pretty hot despite being mid-thirties, and I asked her, "I bet when you were younger and going to clubs, guys would come up to you a lot. No one here has ever blamed widows. "Single mother" overwhelmingly means a woman who:

A) got pregnant while unmarried with a guy who wouldn't stay with her (fairly common)
B) divorced her beta husband (the most common)
C) married a man she knew that would abuse or leave her (fairly common)

Ironically, many of the negative effects on children fade when single motherhood is due to the woman being a widow, mostly because a woman's husband dying is a tragedy, but a natural tragedy. A fucked up and wrecked home as the consequence of a woman's hamster, however, will never be natural, and negative effects will persist no matter how much money the state throws at single mothers.

Absolutely agree with HCEel and IkExactly. There's a world of difference between a "single mother" and a widow. There is no moral equivalence between a woman who is raising a child alone because, say, her firefighter husband died while trying to save people in a burning building and a woman who is raising a child alone because she could not keep a man around. The reason the second woman is single reflects poorly on her, her intelligence, psychological condition and all sorts of other things about her.

50 years ago so called single mothers were in three categories which makes it a lot clearer rather than just dumping all women in one category
1) Unmarried mothers basically woman who got pregnant out of wedlock
2) Widowed self explanatory
3) Deserted mother basically the man just left her after she had the child leaving her on her own with the child

Obviously the marriage thing would have to be looked at with the current state of marriage i.e. it not been attractive to most "red pill" men these days but I think these categories are a lot more accurate than just the very vague single mother category we have today.
