When do you read?
Reading is no doubt something that we all benefit from. There is so much information to be had from books along with great enjoyment. Books can be used to learn about a new topic or relax in the evening.

I don't read as much as I should. Usually it is 1 hour max a day, often not even close. I find that I prioritise other things in my life more and reading gets shoved to the back of the queue.

I think I should start reading when my mind is a bit too foggy to work on anything.

When do you guys read?

RE: When do you read?
Both ways on the daily commute, during meals, in bed at the weekends, when I'm sat waiting around.

Read this - if you're serious about reading, you will make the time:

I asked Ryan about how he got through so many heavy books, to roughly paraphrase he said "I just sit down and read"

RE: When do you read?
sadly I don't read as much anymore..I read much more when I was abroad. I didn't have internet in my phone and I commuted by bus and train.

now in back in the states..the fun is over. I have internet on my phone and I drive everywhere. all that time I used to read is gone.

now I only read on my phone via kindle app when I go to the toilet.

I'm honestly ashamed..I have a dozen new books hard copy and more than 50 in kindle format. I have only read three since the beginning of August.

but.I just ordered a actual kindle. Amazon dropped a new version so in hoping to get my reading splurge back on

I am the cock carousel

RE: When do you read?
I disagree that you need to serious to read more often. There was a phase that I would spend 3-4 hours a day reading and not doing.

Now it seems to have tilted the opposite way, I prefer to do. I have completely lost the balance.

If I have 'dead time' where I can't access my work then I will read, but my lifestyle at the moment allows me to always have access to my work with no dead time.

I feel that I should allow 30minutes- 1 hour, before going to sleep, to read.

I do a lot of reading for study at university, but when ti comes to reading just for pleasure I try and power through a book a month. Usually borrowed from the library, I adopt roosh's set number of pages a day until the book is done.

RE: When do you read?
I read for about an hour after I get my morning workout and mediation in. I usually try to spend this time reading about something that will affect my mindset or habits - personal development stuff. Right now it's "Think and Grow Rich." I think I'll probably just read it again when I'm finished. Sometimes I break up this time with some other stuff - maybe "Meditations" or "How to Win Friends and Influence People." Maybe an internet article or two that expands on what I'm reading about.

Here in Cambodia, I don't have a kitchen and having others feed you is cheap, so I eat out at every meal. So I often use my time waiting for them to cook to read or write in my journal. Or any other time I think I'm going to be sitting around waiting. I take my Kindle and my notebook everywhere with me these days; the only time I don't is when I'm going out at night or jogging.

I read for another hour either between focused blocks of work or after my work is finished. This time I usually spend on work-related non-fiction, possibly focused on skill or strategy. If I feel like it, though, I might spend this time reading about lifestyles or philosophies that are not the norm to me but that I find intriguing. I think this does a lot to expand my ability to think outside of the box and draw from other life paradigms, which is good for the imagination, empathizing with other worldviews, and writing inspiration.

Just before bed, I usually pick up a fictional book and spend some time reading it until I feel like closing my eyes would put me to sleep. After all the other reading and thinking I do, this often feels like a real relief. Nice not to have a goal in mind.

RE: When do you read?
I listen to audiobooks while I exercise. To me, this is the best way to "read" something I don't have the patience to read in my free time. When it comes to real reading, I mostly read articles and internet forums/blogs.

RE: When do you read?
I don't have much time to read...And when I do, I always prefer doing something else, like browsing the RVF Laugh .

However, I really love going to a Starbucks, ordering myself a Vanilla Latte and read a few chapter's of a book I am reading, maybe an hour or hour and a half. Really brightens my day.

1. Late at night, in bed.
2. In my car, driving around, I try to listen to audiobooks. I hate listening to the news on the radio.

RE: When do you read?
I read in a few different places.

#1 While doing cardio. I do low-intensity cardio for around an hour on the treadmill walking on a steep incline. Put the Kindle on the display in front of me and just walk and read, swiping my finger to turn the pages. Knock out an hour of reading with your cardio at the same time is time well-spent.

#2 Before bed. Usually a drier read lulls me to sleep after 20 minutes or so.

#3 On breaks at work. Sometimes 20 minutes here and there when I have some free time.

So far for 2013 I've read close to 30 books. Roosh's advice to read two books per month is spot-on. It takes a little bit of effort/time investment to do so but it's very manageable and doesn't eat up your life to knock out a book every two weeks. Some months I've done one book per week if they're especially easy or short (<300pgs) reads.

I tried listening to a few audiobooks but the same problem keeps happening. The narrator's voice will be going on, and I'm driving and maybe my mind wanders. A minute passes and I realize I haven't been paying attention to the audiobook and have no idea what's going on in the story. You ever have that problem?
