I went to the all you can drink at Babe18 a few years ago and the lines are insane once people show up. Also the bartenders are dicks and give you shit liquor. I got a gin and tonic instead of gin and soda and the bartender argued with me saying it was gin and soda and wasn't going to give me another one.

You aren't getting laid because you still believe in "game".

Here's how I went from being a 21-year-old, videogame-addicted, Asian virgin to banging too many girls to count (no PUA bs):

Anyone got any good parks for dates? Since I am budgeting I need cheap date ideas - I'm used to bar dates, so I suppose cafes are now a staple for me.

Could try:
Da'an Forest Park
or Go Hiking up Xiang Shan
or Get a uBike and ride it along Riverside Park

Dahu Park is good too. Not great food around there but good place to chill for a sunset and people watching. HBK, if you need another cheap date, i would suggest local noodle shops or a night market too. Local girls I've taken out have appreciated both and told me some westerners stick to McDonald's lol. Side note WKR, stop making me miss Taiwanese broads way out in the US lmao.

As far back as I could remember, I always wanted to be a player.

Other park-like venues that are good are Huashan 1914 and Songshan cultural creative parks. Can get a little crowded but lots of spots to sit down, you can eat, drink, she can look at knick-knacks and art, might even be a performer.

Elektro was a sad sight the one time I went; Western guys, almost all of whom looked like models (6-foot+, blond hair, blue eyes, jacked) slumming it with Taiwanese 3's and 4's. At least DKnightbro and I gave it a good go.

Thanks for the feed back y'all.

If I had to stay in New Taipei City short term, what would be the ideal area?

I decided to stay here long term, I like it quite a bit here.

RE: The Ultimate Taipei, Taiwan Datasheet
Assorted Stories of Going Out

Summary: cliffnotes from last couple of nights out
No bangs but multiple "pulls" (leaving the club with chick)
- to dispel beliefs about "game"/other PUA/pickup/red pill koolaid nonsense - I know what I am doing but not getting laid every night - 50% on nights out here, which is about the same for me in most 1st world places (~30-50% or 1/3 to 1/2 nights). Even if you make the right moves shit can happen (read for more info)

Friday:
- realized that a Latin night place (M Taipei) is close to where I'm staying - wanted to check it out because I speak some Spanish and was recently in Colombia

- went alone because buddy was sleeping

- was not feeling it because I've been drinking too much, getting shit sleep, banging; all of which had my energy and libido low

- all you can drink - started to feel it after 4 drinks or so

- French girl - we were dancing and stuff and she was having fun - i should've pulled the trigger faster because she was ADD and lost interest

- Italian girl - danced, etc. but wouldn't leave her friend

- Swiss girl - same thing

- Those were just 3 girls that I remembered (where the interaction went anywhere) - I approached countless other girls, which either resulted in 1) flat out rejection/ignore 2) short conversation but walked away 3) cockblocked by a friend 4) countless other types of rejections

- Taiwanese girl - this was around 4am or so and I got her to "get a drink" with me - which was at my place across the street. Gave her alcohol and tried to bang forever - making out, fingering, etc.
- wouldn't bang. Probably passed out from 5am to 9am - tried again when she woke me up - nothing. Woke up at 2:30pm and basically threw away my entire day cuz I felt like shit. But I ended up going out again...

Saturday:
- went to Omni, probably the best club in town in terms of it being high-end and stuff - nice design, hot girls, bottle service, etc.

- was tired/out of it from the previous night.

- friend and I killed a small bottle of whiskey before going in - helped me get in the mood.

- bartender literally poured me an entire glass of whiskey when I asked for whiskey on the rocks - would've been cool on any other night but was getting sick just looking at it

- the Latin night club was more students and stuff and ratchet. Here were the top-shelf girls who knew they were hot shit and mostly being treated by rich dudes with tables (a couple of girls asked me where my table was - it would be good to have a table here). Much more of the insta-ignore rejections

- Korean girl - friend went in to approach her friend first. As soon as I kissed the girl I was talking to, she was like ok that's too much and walked away with her friend (screening but not every girl is down)

- Countless interactions that didn't result in me getting laid - besides insta-rejections 1) with guy(s)/friends 2) making some BS excuse probably cuz didn't want to look like a sloot in front of friend - e.g. talking to some foreign fag like me obviously just creeping around the club 3) cockblocked by friend 4) no English 5) etc.

- Met a girl outside by herself - from Malaysia - face was meh but body was crazy - amazing fake tits (pretty sure they were fake) and nice figure. Got her back to my place but she said let's go to her hotel cuz she would feel more safe. Figured the lay was in the bag. We got to her room and I started making moves when her friend (a girl) shows up. Her friend asked if I had a friend and when I told her where he was from, the friend said she didn't like white guys. Thought I could go for threesome maybe but they ended up being hookers and asked for 5,000 NTD or about 170 USD - didn't feel like paying (I usually don't enjoy the experience of banging hookers)

- Went back to club, met friend. We saw the Korean girls from before outside - tried to make moves. His girl literally said to me (in Korean) that she doesn't like Westerners so it was a no-go. Side note I should've got their numbers because I'm going to Korea soon and they kept saying how good looking I was (this is me seeking validation). I was in one night stand mode tho.

- It was around 3-4am at this point - we went back in the club and tried to see if we could get any action. Friend was with a girl so I did my own thing and eventually just chilled outside to see if I could catch girls leaving. Went up to one chick by herself and got her in a cab with me. She was wasted and thought I was Japanese and started talking to me in Japanese (and Chinese when she didn't know the Japanese) - I speak neither of those languages conversationally.

- Told her we were going to a bar but once she realized it was my apartment she wasn't down. She might've been down if I bought some whiskey and beers from the convenience store but I didn't - I kept telling her I had stuff in the apartment but she was retarded drunk so I gave up. Crept around my neighborhood for 10 minutes at 4am like a creep before deciding to call it.

Conclusion

The point is - even when you "get it", it's not pussy falling from the sky 24/7. You still have nights where you get rejected, don't get laid, etc. The difference is your bullshit tolerance is just a lot higher and you can laugh things off easier because you've already seen and done a lot of shit.

New Taipei is pretty big, but a lot of foreigners go the Banqiao route. Just try to stay near the MRT/train station area, or it can start to get second-world in a hurry. The real Banqiao is a lot like Zhonghe or Yonghe, everything is kind of on top of everything else, a bit of a rundown, exhaust-filled concrete jungle that will always be hotter than any other spot in Taiwan.

Still, you're only a few stops away from being centrally located, and you have the Mega City area, including Lin Family Garden, which girls like for dates. Use the AC there, and take her to eat at the "lao jie" food court in Mega City.

Gonna be based out in Yonghe for now. There is a lot of university chicks, so I guess I better get used to dating 20 year olds.

In your experience, do girls in Taiwan expect to go on dates with you that last hours or are they fine with Western style quick 1hr / coffee dates and then off ?

What do you guys think are good areas to settle long term in Taipei? Around June I'm going to find a more permanent location.

RE: The Ultimate Taipei, Taiwan Datasheet
Lots of areas, depends on what you like/want. Xiangshan area gets you close to both mountains and Xinyi/Dunhua/Fuxing, or Dong Qu (東區, East District) as people call it here.

A lot of foreigners also congregate around Guting/Shida area. Daan District has lots of restaurants, stores, and isn't so far from Dong Qu either, pretty well located and moneyed.

If you don't care about being near nightlife, it's worth looking into Danshui and the nearby areas as rent prices there are fairly cheaper.

As stated before, a lot of foreigners seem to like Banqiao, but you have to stick near the MRT station area.

I'm personally a big fan of the Songshan area, but it can be pricey for rent, and if you go deeper into it, where you really want to live, it would require you getting some wheels. Same with Neihu, and the middle-aged favorite, Tianmu.

I'm not big on most of Yonghe or Zhonghe, though the area directly around 823 Memorial Park is not bad.

I suppose I could do a data sheet of roughly every area in Taipei as I've spent time in all of them, but it still depends on what your're after.

I spent a little time in Keelung recently. There is a decent little market and getting into Taipei is relatively easy.

Nice waterfront. Not too overrun by tourists.

Keep in mind that Keelung is the rainiest place in all of Taiwan. I've been in Taipei when it was sunny and warm, gone to Keelung for work and it was overcast, drizzling, and somehow cold there. Also, pretty rundown overall.

Still worth a trip on a nice day for the night market though. Get the soup near the temple, and if you can find it, the fried sandwiches, or frog legs.
