I'm not understanding the logic of the racist claim.

If he dislikes black women - either because of appearance/beauty, or culture - how is this a bad thing? Racism is having a prejudicial opinion, and treating those of a specific race in a negative way as a result. Being picky about who you date isn't negative or poor treatment.

It's the core of any race and gender debate, and it drives me crazy. Making a reference to a race isn't racism. Joking about stereotypes isn't racism. Dating within your own race isn't racism. However, treating someone badly or acting upon those personal opinions, does make someone a racist.

Thoughts, wishes, and desires aren't racist, but actions are.

I'm referring to the interracial dating discussed here and that someone could be a racist for not wanting to date black women.

I just don't find 99% of black women attractive and it's nothing personal or racist. My dick knows what it wants and doesn't want. I don't understand how that makes me a racist, when my actions towards blacks, or any race, suggest the complete opposite.

My point is only that actions should define people as "-ists" rather than thoughts.

If you have a KKK member living in his own little world in his mind, yet at the same time treats everyone he meets - regardless of race - courteously and respectfully as equals to himself, is he really a racist?

That's fine. Everyone likes what they like. I don't think anyone is giving him shit for having a preference. To say I like the look of X more than Y is not racist, of course. Where it becomes racist is when you categorically write off an entire group of people as so unworthy of humanity that you wouldn't date a woman that even previously dated a member of that race because you consider it bestiality(yes he said that).

I also think that the top 5% of all races are gonna be worth smashing. Going back to the black hotness thread, I don't see how any man with a pulse can go down that list and not find any chics he would bang. I'm not talking about marry, or shuttle around on your arm to introduce to friends. Just boner-worthy. Personally I'm not attracted to Indian women as a whole(both E. Indian or Native American), but there are certainly some I've seen that are fine as fuck. I think the difference between having a preference and being a racist is when you say all women from a group are unworthy, categorically, versus saying you don't prefer them, but some are hot. As an analogy, it's like saying "all blacks are bad at math" versus saying, "the majority of black kids score lower on math than Asians, but a certain percentage of them excel". One statement is racist, one is reality.

Look if a man is a racist on the inside but nobody ever knows because he never outwardly demonstrates any behavior that would indicate such(in theory of course), then it ultimately makes no difference since his behavior would be indistinguishable from a man who was vocally anti-racist. So my answer would be who cares in that case.

In the case of the man in the story, he is on national television comparing blacks to monkeys and sex with blacks to bestiality. Need I say more?

I find plenty of black women attractive, African women in particular. Most of american black culture I find repulsing. It's hard to overlook even in a hot girl.

The term "Hispanic" wasn't even used in this country until the 1980 Census, so prior to that your parents, grandparents, etc. didn't know what to call a Dominican, Venuzuelan, Colombian, or any other person of Latin American heritage unless they were actually familiar with the various nationalities.

So in other words, it's another made up term, like "The Middle East".

I don't know any non-U.S. born Latin Americans who would ever identify themselves by such a term given that it homogenizes a multi-national, multi-racial culture, as if we all do in fact belong to the same raza.

When people say Hispanic in the USA, I am pretty sure I know who they are talking about, and I am pretty sure you know who they are talking about. Even the police ask when getting descriptions of perps if he is "black, Hispanic, white, Asian, etc."
