Question for the non-drinkers
If you don't drink alcohol, how much time do you spend at bars? 30 mins? 2 hours? What is your usual style?

Do you still just mingle with all the drunks? Do you just hang out with the bartender and every so often leave to talk to the rest of the drunks? I'm just curious. I do drink, but I'm trying to get that out of my life.

RE: Question for the non-drinkers
I drink water all night. Most people don't notice.

No bottled water. Tap only. Tip bartenders $2 a pop. Occasional fiver.

I stay out at clubs till closing. About 2 - 4am.

I drink soda water with a lime and ice. Looks just like a vodka soda. No one knows the difference.

When in Rome do (or act) like the Romans do.

Pretend to be tipsy and lose yourself. Much easier said then done though, especially in the initial phases.

RE: Question for the non-drinkers
I've tried going out at night and not drinking.

Absolutely cannot do it-can't stand being around people who are drinking if I'm not-they are too annoying and I always end up leaving

RE: Question for the non-drinkers
American people really don't drink. I really don't see drunk people.
It's usually some girls having a bachelorette party or guys just want to get drunk.

I drink just couple beers and stay pretty much sober (some guys do better drunk but it kills my game)
I never felt awkward at bar scene in my life.
the only place you need to get drunk to look normal is house party I believe.

Drinking doesn't mean you will be more social instantly. some people just get goofy and some people get more depressed. So you can't blame 'I don't drink and that's why I am not social enough'

club soda with a lime.

tip the bartender 5 bucks the first time and they'll just have it ready for you as soon as they see your face at the bar again.

then tip $1 or $2 each time

lots of places wont even charge you after the first one or two

RE: Question for the non-drinkers
I think it's pretty much same everywhere unless you live in a beach town, vegas or something.

Do you see people walking funny? (you could get arrested for this.
passing out on street is common in other countries. you will see firetruck and ambulance if you do this.)
Do you see people vomiting in the restroom or on streets?

Yes this is what I do when its late at night (2am onwards), this is when everyone is drunk and my sobriety would seem strange to the girls i’m gaming. Just don't overdo it.
I prefer gaming sober because I feel more in control and I wont inadvertently cockblock myself, plus its much cheaper (currently saving my money).
Thats not to say that I wont drink at all or get wasted, just that when I go out specifically to hit on girls I go sober.

I stay until the clubs close committed to the task until the end!

Girls should be an ornament to the eye, not an ache in the ear.

RE: Question for the non-drinkers
If you have a date already set up at the bar and you order something non alcoholic how does your date usually react?

I've had it happen where she likes to follow my lead and if I dont get an alcoholic drink then she doesn't either. I usually just order a sprite if I dont feel like drinking but maybe I will try one of these other drinks you guys suggest and maybe she wont even realize that it doesn't have alcohol in it.

Yeah, it's difficult to get a new girl to have more than one or two drinks on a date if you're sipping a carbonated beverage. Sure, if a girl's extremely into you and a drunk, she'll be fine, but most girls who drink moderately will follow your cue and hold back. Not good.

bars/pubs - 9pm - 11pm. sometimes till midnight. i'm usually with friend/acquaintance. we drink coffee. we shoot the shit and engage some girls around in our silly convo. or i leave for a bit to talk to some girl and we merge. we never hang out with bartenders but we always have the best time in the venue no question about that. imagine 2 guys sipping latte crying from laughter where everybody looks boring/bored/stiff sipping beer. priceless Amuse

dive bars or student pubs or snacks & shots or football pubs. whatever bar/pub. thing is we just vibe together very well because of good bond so alcohol [or venue] doesn't make any difference for us.

Sometimes all night, but only if I'm playing pool, having good conversations, making progress with a girl, or dancing. Typically if you're still in your right mind you will need something else going to keep the night fun.

Yes, still mingle, unless they get too annoying. Then mingle elsewhere.

Quote:I do drink, but I'm trying to get that out of my life.

Read this book: http://www.amazon.com/Allen-Carrs-Contro...l+drinking

Also, avoid the temptation to substitute alcohol by drinking sodas or some other non-alcoholic drink (unless you're actually thirsty, of course). A couple reasons for this.

One, if you're drinking juices or soda, you're losing some of the weight-loss benefit of not drinking alcohol. All that sugar is bad for you, and even a soda-water with lime is a bit too acidic and can do a number on your gut. We don't need to constantly drink something all night - the only reason we do is because alcohol dehydrates you while making it feel like your thirst is being satisfied. One of the reasons it's so addicting.

Since the majority of society embraces alcohol, it's just become commonplace to always have a drink in your hand, but when you think about this, it makes zero sense. Do you walk around with a plate in your hand at all night at parties that serve food?

Which brings about the second reason substitution is bad. Doing so reinforces the idea that you are making a sacrifice by not drinking, which makes it much more likely you'll fall off the wagon. Might as well get it out there right away that you don't drink and be satisfied in that decision.

You may often find that not drinking causes you to get bored early on and makes you want to leave. This isn't because alcohol is inherently fun - it's because bars are actually a bit boring. But the liquor inebriates you and causes you not to care, while simultaneously causing you to want more as you go along.

You'll probably find you waste a lot less time in bars by not starting down that road in the first place. Make the trips you do take to bars count or get better at day game.

As for "usual style," just be yourself, to use a cliche. Guys who don't drink are no less masculine and cool than guys that do unless they let it make them feel insecure. Look at guys like Chuck Zito for inspiration - I'm not saying you should aspire to being a gangster, but men like him make it clear that you don't have to drink to be cool and macho. Maybe you'll even get a chance to knock out someone like Van Damme when they get too drunk, lose their composure, and smart off. Big Grin

To be your own man is a hard business. If you try it, you'll be lonely often, and sometimes
frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself." - Kipling

RE: Question for the non-drinkers
All my posts are for entertainment purposes and are fictional.

I never liked bars. People say and do the same things over and over and over. I'd rather be with a band playing music, making a movie somewhere, or home editing the movie after I shoot it.
My hope has been if I can get my status up enough by these pursuits, I'll indirectly get results with women instead of direct sales pitches in the bars. It probably doesn't work well, but I've realized I don't like talking to women very much either.

I think I'm a fascist and want female concubines, not female buddies.

Everybody finds different things interesting.

Just consuming shit is crushingly boring if you have a creative temperament.

There were great artists who drank, but it was more due to their mood disorders and worked against them rather than with them in a lot of ways. Jim Morrison was a good example. Went from being a hyper-alpha genius rock star to a fat has-been by 27, all from alcohol.

Whenever the topic of being sober in a bar or a club comes up, there's always a few people who are really concerned about what others think they're drinking.

Soda water +lime and water is over-done. Girls catch unto this. They treat it like a sin that you aren't drinking. Weird, but true.

Much better is Bitters Soda, or Soda Water Bitters. It has that reddish tinge and slight bitter taste. (Big ups to dude3737)

One time I had a vodka cranberry and bitter soda. The chick tried both and thought the soda bitters was too strong. LMAO.
