So far I haven't received any errors this evening.

The forum is crashing overnight. We're looking into another rogue cron job. So we'll see how it goes into tomorrow.

Otherwise the forum is running fine for me.

i got an error as soon as I tried to log on for hours, I forget exactly but the table name had something like sessions in it. it wouldn't even get to the opening screen, just stopped at the error page.

It's been fixed, but...

MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.

SQL Error:
145 - Table './rooshvf_forum/mybb_sessions' is marked as crashed and should be repaired
Query:
DELETE FROM mybb_sessions WHERE ip='{10.1.2.3}'

(replace {10.1.2.3} by one's actual IP)

In my.cnf, the heap memory was too low. Increased it from 32M to 100M.

The forum needs a dedicated server soon. All this tinkering is like trying to make a Honda Civic go faster.

if you get a dedicated server just charge $1 per member. You'd easily cover the cost, plus more. Every man on here should be able to afford $12 a year, it's worth it for the knowledge alone.

The forum crashed in the middle of the night. But don't despair: Right before I re-enabled a certain setting (cpanel backups) so I believe this is the cause. I have disabled it again.

It appears the database is too big (about 1 gig) for backups on the puny server the site is on.

The next step is a powerful dedicated server. I'd like this to happen by the end of October.

How does this happen? Switch it over to Amazon Cloud or something similar?

God no, not Amazon Cloud. Imagine the risk if Roosh (and thus his service provider) was ever targeted by the PC police. But I am definitely looking forward to a new server sometime. It's a testament to the forum's success that such a thing is needed!

Money for the server is not the main issue, but it's not a simple task to move a huge site that is unstable at the moment. So we have to get it mostly stable, and then go for the move.

I know the situation sucks, but I will do what it takes to get the site consistently running strong. It just may take some time.
