it's more like older women frown on this cuz it hurts and bothers them emotionally. I say, let them frown upon you :-)

Almost all girls are ok if the age gap is not larger than 5, 6 years. However there are some for whom a larger age gap may be seen as a downside - it does not mean that you can't bang them as well with solid game, but it's definitely not going to help.

Since you usually don't know what her preferences are in the first date (or in a spontaneous contact in a bar, disco, street), it's better to try to adjust your age in order for the gap not to be larger than those 5, 6 years... It's also a good moment to throw some game: "how old do you think I am", or "I don't think this is an appropriate moment for you to ask these personal questions", etc.

One important thing to remember: try to calculate in advance in what year you were born in relation to the age you tell her. Very often girls ask you the year of birth as a test, and if you do not answer immediately, she'll notice you're lying...

I basically use the Akula guess routine and when they answer say something like works for me and thats it - flow right past it and it will not matter.

The area I lie in is visual as in Just for Men hair color... I was dating a very sexy slim Jewish girl who worked in the Boston financial district and had some class and style - I had let myself focus on work for a while and noticed my hair was basically more white than salt and pepper (My Grandmother's hair turned white around 30) so early gray/white runs in the family.

Keep in mind too that on many dating websites, women will dupe you by posting pictures of themselves from maybe more than 5 years before present, but that is not ”lying” because (so they rationalize) they put their true age in their profile. The worst is when you meet on the date and realize they are older-looking and way pudgier. To me, that is a lot worse than a man lying about his age!

5, 6 years?

That is nothing at all and completely standard in twenties. Try 10-15 years as the real normal upper range.

I am 31 and I have had no problems with girls 19-23 if my game was tight otherwise (which it hasn't been for the last year for other reasons) and I was slim and in shape. In fact, I have little doubt that I could still pretty easily pull a 17-18 year old in the right circumstances.

I believe it all comes down to how you take care of yourself and if you seem successful for your age. For example, dress your age, but do it smart and fashion conscious. Two guys can wear chinos, brown shoes/boots and tucked in shirt and one can look like a total boring tool and one can look like a baller young businessman/entrepreneur.

It also depends if you can connect with young chicks. I have no problem doing that usually.

The old formula for calculating age in terms of relationship is:

Your age / 2 + 7 = Accepted girl age

So for me that is 31/2+7 = 22.5. For someone who is 40 it is 27. For someone who is 50 it is 32.

Seems about right to me even if it is just a fun urban legend kind of thing. That is for relationships of course. For hookups who cares, most young girls have a pretty woman kind of fantasy and can probably be fukked with a nice hotelroom and some champagne or a rented car and rented boat. No, it depends upon your looks when you're an older guy.

Sick of guys pretending that their impressive sample size of *one* means jack shit.

A 31 year old guy can look young depending upon his looks and genes. Other guys will already look middle aged.

I don't care about that half your age + 7 thing. Who cares about blind adherence to social norms. I'm 37. If I met a dope girl that was 21 I'm going for it. I don't care what anyone thinks. Other people otherwise don't give a shit about you anyway. What's bullshit is that society makes exceptions for men of wealth. It's okay for Hugh Hefner(or some other rich celebrity) to be elderly and have orgies with girls young enough to be his granddaughters. But let a normal guy in his 30s date a girl more than a few years younger and he's considered a creep.

I don't care for it either. I just think this is a pretty good approximation of what social norms are in general with regards to age difference.

It's not wealth it is power and status. A rich man dating a young girl will get ridicule. An older famous/powerful man will not get ridicule.

What does it come down to? That these rich and famous men don't give a damn. They could care less if someone thought they were creeps. And they could care less because they are succesful and powerful so that their image and career can't be shattered by some jealous people.

Lesson to learn: Don't give a damn and don't be in a position where nobodies can ruin your reputation or career.

I also don't care about age gaps. As long as she's legal I go for it. But why should I say the truth about my age when that might (even if not necessarily will) spoil my prospects?

I'm at a disco, having a blast with a 19 yold girl for 30 mnts, then she asks me my age. Should I say "Yes, I'm 33." Maybe if I live 10 kms away from this club, I should also say "Yes, I live 10 kms away from this club" when she asks me for directions. Or "Yes, I have a girlfriend now" when she asks if I'm commited.
