Yes game is indeed game but being able to communicate with people on their own level actually comprises "half of the game" in certain parts of the world more so than other parts. That is exponentially more important than pre-meditated tactics taught by your PUA gurus.

As crazy as it sounds, the ability to communicate on a more "superficial level" is more valued in places like Latin America, North America, or anywhere in the Anglo world. I don't mean that by flashing cash, bragging about wealth, etc.

Making timely jokes, certain types of nonverbal communication, a deeper understanding of their pop culture, and being able to react accordingly to locals in a way that touches their "emotional" buttons correctly are valued more than say how things work in say Europe/Asia. Even the best looking guys of any ethnicity will not succeed in game consistently if they can't find common ground with locals on their own "superficial" level of thinking in these areas. I think that's a problem many Asian PUAs have when it comes to sitting back & analyzing how game works in the Anglo world.

I'm not saying you can't get laid in Latin America, Spain, or the Anglo world without finding common ground with these people on their level but getting the desired results "consistently" will be a much tougher feat to achieve without that.

In most parts of Europe/Asia however (Not UK/Spain), it's ok to be perceived as "socially awkward" where demonstrating traits like intellect and logical thinking is more valued in these areas. Style, looks, and generic game tactics goes a much longer way here without going the extra mile to find cultural common ground with locals on the levels they were raised in.

Funny, I feel a little similar, although in my case it's mostly my age (early 40s) and not being willing to lie about it (I look 35). Plus being in the Bay Area, totally saturated with dudes and ok not great looking chicks. Nothing wrong with my age but here I can only go out with women in their 30s who are 6s.

My solution is to relocate to Colombia / Mexico. My first trip to Colombia my Spanish was almost nothing and I was banging 6s in their early to mid-30s. By my third trip (3rd month total) I was banging 7.5s in their early 20s to early 30s, which is definitely good enough for me. Even the early 30 year olds can be smoking hot in Colombia, and in Bogota I love the educated, sophisticated-sexy vibe. What I've found in Bogota at least is that it's easier to stand out right away, and that gives entry into them finding out how cool and awesome you really are, assuming you've done that work to build up your life. Whereas here I think it's easy to get written off as just another Asian techie before even given a chance.

As an Asian-American professional, let me count the ways in which your status goes up in Colombia:
- You are suddenly tall (I'm 5'9", avg Colombian man is 5'5")
- You suddenly are rich (assume purchasing power multiplier of 2.5x)
- You are unique (not an Asian in a sea of Asians)
- Gringo factor (if not literally, the prospect of being exposed to American culture)
- You are a world traveler, which just happens to be the biggest dream a lot of Colombian women seem to have. There are whole new year's day rituals designed around hoping to travel as far as possible in the world, no lie! (lifestyle game is a layup)
- There is a mildly curious view of Asians there (to me, I view it as a slight plus, which is noticeably better than in the States)
- Age gap is much less of a problem (this stacks great with Asian youthful genes...last trip I got action with 2 21-year old 7.5s)

On top of that, I have these status raisers:
- Good salsa dancer. I know 3 different styles and can adapt to almost anyone. I love the music and feel it deeply, a salsa club is my home away from home.
- Solid musician - pay my rent with music and have good clips to pique girls' interest
- Better than avg spanish - you guys are smart, spanish is not hard, use that to your advantage
- I'm enamored with Colombia and girls want to be excited with me - it's an attractive quality when you are feeling alive, it's contagious

Essentially I have almost no 'game', but some of the game concepts like DHV are in the back of my mind when I go on first dates. Also what's funny is dating in Spanish is somehow easier for me I think, because there is more space to be silly when you are a non-native foreign speaker (think Borat). Also easier to sound sophisticated by using a few fancy words now and then. The ambiguity makes it easier for me to take pauses and pay attention to the girl's non verbals, and i naturally feel more adventurous saying directly romantic / sexual things---no deprogramming to do.

I love the warmth of the people, and the pace of life, a great foil to the heavy tech R&D work I do. Reality is I'm going just as much for the lifestyle outside of dating as in it. I guess I've found a niche, so keep trying till you find yours....experiment, analyze, and keep improving yourself brothers! Question everything!

Interesting... how does it compare to EE / other places you've been? Can you get by with no spanish? Did day approach, tinder etc work best for you?

Starting to notice that Asian guys with Jewish girls is definitely turning into a thing here in NYC, a lot of these girls are sexy as fuck too. Asian dudes definitely get play from Jewish and Eastern European women in NYC, I am not talking FOB Eastern Euro women, I mean the ones who are more westernized and chill. The couples are usually young too (college age and 20s) and the guy is definitely well put together (fit, style on point, and overall cool kid).

I have to say from where stuff was at years ago, Asian dudes have come a long fucking way in the US. I've seen some of the taller decent looking ones with quality girls of all races. Even starting to see sexy Indian women with Asian guys as well. I am starting to almost envy Asian dudes these days as an Indian guy, like I wish my brown brothers would learn from you guys because you're doing way better than us out there.

As for the recent comment about Middle Eastern women and European women with that swarthy look, here is my experience in the US with those kinds of women, cannot speak to Europe. I've said this in so many other threads and even brought it into the thread about French women which got me a lot of shit.

If you guys in the US want women with that kind of a look, just game Jewish girls, "American" girls more on the tanned side, and Eastern European women (Slavic chicks are kind of a wild card though). Women from these groups are proud of their backgrounds, some very educated (Jewish girls), and tend to go for alpha guys in general. The kind of culture a woman is raised in has a huge say in the kinds of men she goes for.

I'd stay far away from Middle Eastern and Mediterranean women, at least here in the US. Most of them come from narcissist, vain, and largely insecure cultures that value status and popularity a great bit, this is why they commonly go for the blond hair blue eyed trollish looking dudes.

The best country for an Asian guy from the west to score with a white/non-Asian girl is actually most Asian country. Most white/latina girls I met in Asia had yellow fever or were opened to dating Asian men. This is my experience after travelling around Asia.

I second dannyboy318. I'm here in Bali at the moment, and our Bali dudes are aggressive with the approaches. This is such a contrast to what I saw in Chiang Mai where Thai guys are absolutely too shy to approach. I see quite a few of Bali guys with attractive to very attractive western Euro girls (it's mostly Swedes and Scandis here). I makes me happy to see these guys going for it.

For Tall_asian_guy, the country where I got the most stares walking with a white girl was definitely mainland China. I was in Shenzhen and I was walking with a tall attractive Albanian girl and the stares I got from Chinese people were just crazy. I felt like a rockstar. I also got stares when I was in Thailand too. Basically, all the Asian countries I been to were the places where I got the most stares being AMWF.

For Tall_asian_guy, the country where I got the most stares walking with a white girl was definitely mainland China. In Bali, there is a group known as the Kuta Cowboys of Kuta Beach Bali.
There are a lot of articles written about them online.
Basically they are surfer dudes that teach white people and often white women how to surf, and they act as gigolos to older white women.
I think some older/milf white women act as sex tourists in Bali the same as they do in parts of Africa apparently.
But the macho surfer dude culture of Bali makes the Kuta Cowboys very proficient at dating both young and old white girls.
When I visited Bali, I did see many Kuta cowboys with white women. One tall dark guy was with an older white woman.
Another younger surfer dude had just broken up with his teenage australian girlfriend.
Its a great place where a lot of Australians and probably Swedish mingle easily with the Bali men.

I don't know why the Thai men would be more reluctant to date white women.
Maybe its a language thing or due to the unstable government and political repercussions of western influence.
There does seem to be a lot more friction from news reports of westerners ruining parts of Chiang Mai beaches.

My sample size is too small as the dating I have been doing were in SEA and Eastern Europe. In the west, I would say America. I went on a Tinder date with a white American girl of German descent. We ate some KBBQ and I got some stares from other asian girls. lolz Whites and other ethnicities didn't really care as the area I was from is really diverse.

I've also noticed a huge variance in my SMV depending on where I go. I try out dating apps for any new city I visit and then usually don't go out and game if I do well on apps. Here's some online dating data as an Asian guy:


Taipei. 10+ lays. 2 months.
A lot of people on dating apps here know English, which is great. I've visited several times. I get a lot of online matches (10+ per day) in the first week or two after turning on dating apps (CMB, Tinder, Bumble) here. Then it slows down quite a bit. I'll tend to not talk to the girls who only know Mandarin since I can't read/write Chinese and am usually too lazy to be Google translating back and forth when there are English-speakers to talk to.

Berlin. 0 lays, 1 week. I felt like Will Smith in "I Am Legend". Goddamn, my SMV must be gutter-level out here. Swiped right on Tinder until my thumbs fell off for 2 days straight and got zero matches. Then after I left, I finally got a match with one very attractive Asian girl.

Osaka. 0 lays, 1 week. Zero Tinder matches after maybe 50+ swipes. Almost all the profiles I saw were in Japanese. Got a few matches on Bumble and CMB where most profiles are in English.

Amsterdam. 1 lay, 1 week. Only got a few matches, mostly Asian girls. Went out with one really cute Asian girl, ended up crashing at her place and being a temporary boyfriend for 4 nights. This experience made me value quality over quantity more.

Shanghai. 2 lays. 4 nights. Either I hit a lucky streak, or highly-dense cities in China are great for Chinese-Americans (surprise). I think my SMV is the highest here of the places I been, but would need to spend more time here to find out. Turned on Tinder after I arrived, and met up with a girl every night I was here. Got to 25+ pending matches after the first night. The girls I met up with had all messaged me first, and were very responsive over text. Both girls I slept with were of Chinese descent and had a British accent. Another girl I went on a date with was a blonde from Australia but I failed vs her LMR.

Bangkok. 3 lays. 1 month. Pretty crazy volume of matches here. This was the only time I've seen 99+ pending matches on Tinder. Went on dates with 7 girls, and mostly hung out with 3 different girls most of the time I was here. I could've played the numbers game more, but I wasn't willing to put in too much work when I had repeat customers. Girls here seem to require a lot more comfort before meeting up compared to Taipei where girls seem more trusting. You'll likely have to text each other a lot more beforehand. Very low volume of matches, and most profiles were in Chinese. Talked to one girl in Mandarin for a bit, but she turned out to be in northern Kaohsiung and we didn't end up meeting up. It seems to be really quiet here in general. Known for good food, but not for its nightlife.

Seoul. 0 lays, 1 week. Turned on dating apps for 3 days, got 10-20 matches, sent like 10 messages. One boring conversation led nowhere, one I suspected of being a fake account, and the rest didn't respond at all. Low match rate and the lowest initial response rate of the places I've been. Not sure why. Maybe the competition is fiercer in Korea and I don't have the pretty Asian boy looks to compete. I'm a 5'10" average-looking skinny Chinese-American, so you might expect similar results in these cities if you fit that profile. In the cities where I do well, you'll do far better if you're better-looking/stylish/jacked/whatever. There's always a way to improve yourself overall.

In Taiwan, a LOT of girls straight up tell me I'm really skinny. I assume it's not a compliment lol. I see this as a hint for what will take me up a level - eat more cake, hit the gym, get buff.

It's about how international it is. How's your Mandarin? If it's not too good, you might struggle to get results in the third-tier cities, where English levels are poor, and not many people use Tinder.

In a place like Shanghai, English is more widely known, people generally have an idea of what ABCs (American-Born Chinese) are (girls here seem to love us), and most importantly, there's a culture of hooking up here that doesn't really exist in many other Chinese cities. Make sure you make it fairly obvious in your profile that you are an ABC, without it being blatant. I think the combination of you being an ABC plus the acceptance of hookup culture here makes it a perfect place to rack up notches, not to mention it's very international (obviously I'm aware Taipei and Seoul are too), so if you're into other kinds of girls, you're good too.

That makes sense. I speak at about an elementary-school level. Using English-only profiles seems to significantly reduce my initial match rate with profiles that are non-English. I'm guessing that if a girl only knows one non-English language, she's also less likely to be curious about foreigners.

It's kind of fun to get them to teach me naughty phrases and then I'll tease them about having a dirty mind. It's a playful way to sexualize conversations and seems to work well.

When I first visited Taiwan and China, I perceived myself as more attractive just because I'm ABC, and I think that belief alone affected my behavior and improved my SMV. I didn't even know why ABCs were supposedly more attractive, but it's more about the belief than reality anyways.

I've heard from many girls in Taiwan that ABCs are stereotyped as being rich, and therefore more attractive with all else being equal. There's some truth to that if you consider the disposable income of an average American vs average Chinese/Taiwanese. Another reason might be the influence of American culture. The few nightclubs I went to in Asia all play popular American music.

Spent 4 days in SH over the New Year holiday, and got nothing. Not sure if it was because of luck or timing. Maybe both. I'm fluent in the language and usually get pretty good compliments on my look and style - not sure what happened there. :/

I've recently travelled to some Muslim countries... I can say with absolute shock it's up there in terms of Tinder matches and dates.

Getting laid is much harder due to laws against unmarried couples sharing a room. But if you want to get married or get a LTR or just have a nice time without necessary sex it may be among the best for Asian guys.

Update on Japan after being here 2.5 weeks so far. I'm currently in Tokyo.

Dating apps are pretty crappy for me out here. I've gotten a grand total of 1 match on Tinder after maybe 50+ swipes in Osaka and 50+ swipes in Tokyo. Even in Tokyo, most of the Tinder profiles are in Japanese. I got about a dozen matches each on CMB and Bumble over the past week. Most of the profiles there are in English. Unlike in Taipei/Shanghai, most girls stop responding when I tell them I'm only traveling here. I went on one CMB date, but she turned out to be a no-sex-til-marriage type. Still too early to tell if any of these other matches will pan out into dates. Overall, I'm not that optimistic of dating apps for me in Japan.

The upside is I've had to resort to meeting people in person. I've realized how lazy and dependent I've become on dating apps for meeting women and how weak my game is for establishing premise/intent in my interactions and when I have to figure out logistics on the fly.

I did a few daygame approaches and went to a few parties. I got 1 lay after attending one of those international party pub crawls in Osaka. She's one of those small kawaii Japanese girls who seemed really interested in meeting foreigners. We met up the next day, hung out for a bit before I suggested walking to my hotel. After her panties came off and right before I was about to go in, she told me she had a boyfriend. Woops. The next day she hit me up, we got dinner, then went at it again at my place.

One daygame approach in Tokyo led to a 4-hour insta-date that I maybe could've converted to a lay, but we were far from my hotel and I didn't even consider the possibility of a love hotel. So I failed on the logistics there. We met while waiting in line for ramen. She lined up behind me and I asked her if this place was any good. We chatted, then we ate together and walked around and hung out in the Asakusa area in Tokyo.

International parties in Japan seem like a great way to meet single women. You're not allowed to have approach anxiety at those parties since it's more weird to show up and NOT talk to people. I went to 2 of these parties so far. The first time, I had started talking to this solo traveler Japanese girl early in the night. We were hitting it off but I fucked up by taking her to talk to groups of random people, then bailing on one of the groups to talk to other random people alone. Like 30 min later, some guy had been talking to her and stuck to her like glue the whole night. Lesson learned. When you have isolation, use that to your advantage. That said, that night I ended up meeting a cool group of Europeans that I hung out with for a few days afterwards. So even though I messed up a chance with a girl, I made some new friends.

I also met this cute Japanese girl who barely spoke English at the 2nd party. She said she was there alone. She seemed interested in trying to communicate and was using Google Translate to talk to me at first, but I left the interaction. She ended up with a Japanese guy and was making out with him soon after. Maybe if I'd persisted, that would've led somewhere despite the language barrier since she was clearly down to get sexual.

Overall, I'm being pushed out of my comfort zone to meet people in Japan. I'm learning valuable lessons from in-person approaches and realizing how little there is to lose from sparking random conversations with strangers. That's helping with my approach anxiety. Since my SMV seems moderately high in Taipei based on my experience with dating apps there, I'll try more cold approaches next time I'm there.

In 2 days, I'm meeting up with a girl I met at a festival 2 years ago. She's only free during the day, but we have several hours together. I'm not used to converting a daytime meeting into a lay, so we'll see how that goes.
